You must have a line since you spout off that a Christian can be lost.
Let's try it a little differently..

Let's say I am a born again Christian, what must I do to be lost?
He believes in a self sustained, working for salvation gospel even though he denies it and or is blind to it......if you don't keep on keeping it you will lose your salvation...Oblivious to the fact that it is Christ himself that maintains it and saves to the uttermost!

Also it seems there's no sure point when you're assured you're saved or assured you've lost it...all so vague. Doubtsville-Fogland

The issue is that you do not realize that we will all stand before the Lord at judgment and give account of ourselves rather good or bad. (Romans 14:10-12, 2 Corinthians 5:10)

Those that where disobedient to His teachings are appointed with the unbelievers (Luke 12:46), and Apostle Paul says this;

Romans 2:6-10

Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

The only ones who receive eternal life Paul and Jesus both show is those who continue in faith obeying His teachings !!!

Hebrews 10 is about judgment that takes place after death, as the previous chapter clearly showed as the writer does not change the context of what he is talking about from chapter 9 to chapter 10.
I disagree that 10 is talking about after death. But lets just use your interpretation.

The believer stands before the Bema seat of Christ......Belief get them there. They are rewarded according to their works or deeds.

The unbeliever stands before the Great white Throne.....unbelief gets them there. They are judged according to their works or deeds.

Let's try it a little differently..

Let's say I am a born again Christian, what must I do to be lost?
Even though this question wasn't asked of me I want to give you an answer if that's ok. So you're a Christian, love God, go to church, read your bible, try to live your life the best way you think Jesus would want. Then a tragedy strikes your family. You blame God, question Him why my family. You say why pray. Obviously God's not listening. Then time passes. Before you know it it's been years since you've talked to God. You start to question if God's even real. Just an example. But can't you see how that could happen? This is an example I've seen. Or let's say a person is hurt by a so called Christian. Some adults have said that all though they were Christian as children and believed in God when they were molested by people in the church it made them feel like the last thing they wanted to be is a Christian. I hope my examples made sense. It's kinda hard to communicate my thoughts exactly by typing words.

Once again it is not my line as I do not place the standard between eternal life and eternal death.
That is done by God Himself by His word !!!

Acts 20:28-31
28 Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. 29 For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves.

31 Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.

Colossians 1:22-23
In the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight— if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.

Staying in or returning to a deliberate sinful lifestyle of following after false teachings will not lead a person to eternal life.

*Things Children of God Can Do:

1. Fall from grace - Gal. 5:1-4,13
2. Be led away with error - 2 Pet. 3:17
3. Err from the truth - James 5:19-20
4. Weak brother may perish - 1 Cor. 8:11
5. Fall into condemnation - James 5:12
6. Be moved away from the hope - Col. 1:21-23
7. Deny the Lord who bought them - 2 Pet. 2:1
8. Depart from the living God - Heb. 3:12
9. Can be a castaway - 1 Cor. 9:27
10. Can become accursed children - 2 Pet. 2:14

The words of Jesus are clear...by belief the condemnation has been removed..it is a once for all act....only those who have not believed are condemned John chapter 3......! You cannot lose salvation and again, your verbiage points to the fact that you believe in a self sustained, working for salvation pseudo gospel even though you deny it and or are blind to it!

So do you deny what I just posted from the Apostle John in his first epistle where he clearly showed how we can tell if we have eternal life abiding in us ???

Chapters 2 through 4 clearly shows if you are truly born again with the Holy Spirit what you will do, and the things that those who claim they believe but show differently in their actions do not have eternal life abiding in them.

If the person is a christian but fell cold, I believe God will at some point be tugging at their conscience and only bad previous teaching will keep them from simply confessing their sin and believing God will restore them to the fellowship of His Son.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
(1Jn 1:9)

As far as hurt goes they'd still be a Christian but need to see God's great Love for them before they can turn and forgive others.

Answer: Obedience

The word of God in Hebrews says that disobedience is unbelief:

Hebrews 3:18-19
And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who were disobedient?
So we see that they were not able to enter because of unbelief.

This is a parallel passage to what the Lord Jesus said in Luke 12:46 that the disobedient servants will be appointed along with the unbelievers. Your passages here about judgment is about believers who keep the faith in Christ being judged and given rewards for their faithfulness, but the disobedient will stand along side with the unbelievers before the great white throne and face the second death.

If salvation is ambiguous, trying to explain loss of salvation is ambiguous. I understand why it is hard to answer.

Come to light!

Believe and be saved.

You can't lose salvation.

Unambiguous, the truth, easy answers...........the simple Gospel.

Let me try to simplify here.

Whenever a person is broken in spirit, sees themselves as a total loss, a total wreck etc., those are the ones our Lord receives.
Those who think they are doing just fine, 'too bad for others', 'I can handle it, thank you' also see no real need for Christ and receive nothing.

If you don't like the answers from the word of God itself just say so, but falsely claiming I am not answering you is fruitless and unedifying !!!

No, I deny your self sustaining, working for salvation dogma....where one can lose a salvation that they do not currently possess........this is what your verbiage belies that you teach.....My salvation is based upon Christ and his work...not my own works and self!

Moses didn't enter the promised the land.............was he unsaved. NO.

Moses was assigned a place with the disobedient exodus generation? Was Moses unsaved. NO.

Was the exodus generation unsaved?NO. They were freely rescued and saved(grace)from Egypt, but they needed to be obedient to enter the rest(rewarded).

IMO Ken, you are rescued, but you have not entered the rest yet.

We have an assurance of receiving salvation at the day of redemption, as the eternal life we have right now abiding in us is by the Holy Spirit. It is not our own physical possession yet as we are still in our corruptible mortal bodies, for the scriptures make it clear that we have to be transformed into our uncorruptible immortal bodies to receive physically eternal life.

That transformation happens at the gathering and not before !!!

Only if you keep working for it.........and the bible teaches one already possesses eternal life if they have actually believed in Christ!

Keep the faith, not keep working for it !!!!

Please stop your baseless false witnessing as the works have nothing to do with being saved, they are the proof that one is saved and has the Holy Spirit abiding in them. "BIG DIFFERENCE"

Moses didn't enter in to the promise land because he disobeyed God at one point, it was not a continuous disobedience ..........

So that point has nothing to do with being saved or not..

Second Moses was not assigned a place with the disobedient in Exodus, and I don't know where you get that from.

Those who God called Moses to bring out of Egypt that later in the wilderness turned their back on God was destroyed and stricken from the Book of Life. (Exodus 32:33) Moses still lived because he did not turn his back on God as they did !!!

None of us that are still alive in the flesh have entered His rest yet, and Hebrews 3 and 4 clearly show this.
What we have right here and now is assurance of receiving salvation through Him by keeping our faith in Him tell the end. Apostle Paul states by faith we seek for and hope to receive eternal life over and over again, and those who do not continue in the faith but are removed from that hope receive eternal death. Unless they repent !!!

The only thing false is the fact that you erroneously teach that we are not currently possessing eternal life and salvation...both of which the bible states we currently possess...the verb tenses found and the verses given speak to this, but you reject it....if you believe you are having everlasting life....what does everlasting mean? It means exactly that everlasting!

Amen to that and I agree...Moses was representative of the law and under the law....he struck the rock twice instead of speaking to it and that is what cost him his right to enter into the promise land although he was and remained a saved child of God!

Well that is what you were taught at the bible college you went to, but it is not the true context of believing in the Lord.
A word being a verb does not make it a past tense action, and I disagree with how you have been taught to use when the Greek Concordance and Lexicon show differently.

Believing (pisteuo) is a continuous action, not a one time profession of faith as here is what the Greek usage of the word is used in the bible;

Definition: I believe, have faith in, trust in; pass: I am entrusted with

How it is used in scripture;

1. intransitive, to think to be true; to be persuaded of; to credit, place confidence in;

a. universally: the thing believed being evident from the preceding context,Matthew 24:23,(26); Mark 13:21; 1 Corinthians 11:18; with an accusative of the thing, Acts 13:41 (L T Tr WH for Rec. ), to credit, have confidence, followed by ὅτι, Acts 9:26; τίνι, to believe one's words,Mark 16:13; 1 John 4:1; τίνι ὅτι, John 4:21; τῷ ψεύδει, 2 Thessalonians 2:11; περί τίνος, ὅτι, John 9:18.

b. specifically, in a moral and religious reference, πιστεύειν is used in the N. T. of "the conviction and trust to which a man is impelled by a certain inner and higher prerogative and law of his soul"; thus it stands α. absolutely to trust in Jesus or in God as able to aid either in obtaining or in doing something: Matthew 8:13; Matthew 21:22; Mark 5:36; Mark 9:23;Luke 8:50; John 11:40
