By your actions: What kind of person are you? (Part 1)
Objectively: When you look at how you behave, act, and speak, what type of person comes to mind that best describes you as a part of your faith?

Saint
Sinner
Double minded man
Follower of Jesus.
Not really a follower of Jesus. I only believe.
Obedient of the Lord's Commands
Disobedient of the Lord's Commands
People would not be surprised I was a Christian when I told them.
People would not really know I was Christian unless I told them.
Other (Please explain).

For it is written....

They deny him in works (Titus 3:16)
Without holiness no man shall see the LORD (Hebrews 12:14).
Jesus Christ is the author of eternal salvation to all who OBEY Him (Hebrews 5:9)

Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? (2 Corinthians 13:5)

Now I pray to God that ye do no evil (2 Corinthians 13:7).

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. (Matthew 7:18).

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. (Matthew 7:15)

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. (Matthew 7:20).

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. (Galatians 5:22-24).

Not sure how many times I have to say this. But it is Christ that does the work in you (And the answer is.... "not you."). So you can keep falsely claiming it is Works Salvationism (When that is not what I believe nor is that what the Bible teaches).

But that really does not answer the question I posed.

What kind of person do you see yourself as a part of your faith? Does it make logical sense?

That's me. All of the above plus one other: people know I'm Christian without my telling them.

I'm an imperfect person doing an imperfect job, and God's grace is sufficient.

No. You merely disagree with the Bible. For if you were for truth, then you would explain the verses I posed in this thread.

See the other thread (Which is part 2) in how you think others view you. Please take note that I added an option in the poll called.... "Does both good and evil (Split personality). For do you think people think that one who does both good and evil is a... good guy? Well.... I am sure it depends on the evil. But to God, He does not tolerate many evils that are acceptable to men.

Anyways, I say this not to wound you but in love and in truth (For you to be objective).
In any event, please check out the poll and vote.

Thank you.

May God bless you.
And please be well.

<snip>
I answered "other" - I needed a multiple answer . . .
I am a saint [set apart] because of my faith in Jesus Christ.

At times I do sin but don't consider myself a "sinner" because I do not "live in sin".

I sometimes am double minded because I fail to "upgrade" (renew) my thinking to the level of Christ. I follow my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ although at times I fail for I do not see myself as "perfect" as He.

I am obedient to the Lord's commands to the best of my ability but because of the frailty of this "body of death" that I dwell in - I am not always obedient.

People would not be surprised I was a Christian when I told them. . . .People would not really know I was Christian unless I told them. . . . Most know that I am a Christian . . . I don't have to confess that I am a Christian to anyone for man does not set a seal of approval upon me but it is God who sets his "seal of approval" on me.

All evil is sin, but not all sin is evil.

I am a sinner, but I am not evil. My primary sin is venting when dealing with annoying people. Thus I am not evil nor a split personality, mentally or spiritually. God bless you as well, Jason.

Here is a definition of evil that has to do with the heart and the tongue of every born individual...

Mt 12:34-37

34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

James 3:5-10

5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and it can boast of great things. See how much wood or how great a forest a tiny spark can set ablaze!
6 And the tongue is a fire. [The tongue is a] world of wickedness set among our members, contaminating and depraving the whole body and setting on fire the wheel of birth (the cycle of man’s nature), being itself ignited by hell (Gehenna).
7 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea animal, can be tamed and has been tamed by human genius (nature).
8 But the human tongue can be tamed by no man. It is a restless (undisciplined, irreconcilable) evil, full of deadly poison.
9 With it we bless the Lord and Father, and with it we curse men who were made in God’s likeness!
10 Out of the same mouth come forth blessing and cursing. These things, my brethren, ought not to be so.

Jason continually contradicts himself when he says he doesn't work for his salvation, and then claims if you don't live or act a certain way, then you aren't saved, or you've forfeited your salvation.

That's works. It's the classic definition of works.

He truly is the "double-minded man".

I like the way of the master's (Left behind) take on it

If someone commits murder, what do you call him?
(probably a murderer, right)
and if someone steals
(a thief?)
what if someone lies? Does that then not make them a liar?
---- and so, if we sin, we are sinners.

which is why we are saved by Gods grace
and do good in an attempt to do some good in return, not to be saved in the first place

this is a classic " gottcha" poll. also a good indication of how " religious" people think: everything is in black and white, everything fits in my little box.

Should add an ever learning and never coming to the knowledge of the truth.

Scripture says to seek knowledge and with all your getting get understanding. For without understanding there is no wisdom.

Holiness does not lead us to Christ. Christ leads us to holiness. Our own righteousness is as a filthy rag in God's sight .. so why do you persist with threads and conjecture continually intimating that if we loved God, we would not sin ? Even when we are successfully refraining from sin (and may it be so), it is not by our own strength or might. It is solely because of Christ's love, strength, mercy and grace given us. Our only hope for pleasing God is for us to desire Him in Jesus Christ. Then and only then are we seen as righteous and holy in His eyes. And then and only then have we a chance to act in a manner that is pleasing to Him. And even at that, it is not of our own doing ... but God's. All of us, as King David prayed, so do we need continually pray as well ... lest we fall. And sometimes we all do fall. Even you.

Psalm 19:13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins;let them not have dominion over me:then shall I be upright and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

Would King David pray for help not to sin if he was capable of doing it of his own accord ? Does this not suggest to you that we can't ... and only God can ? Nothing to do with us friend ... and everything to do with Christ. Ours is to seek and desire Him. He does the rest. You would be better served to encourage those struggling ... and point them to God's grace freely given thru faith in Christ. But you won't. Answer your own poll. By your actions (and not by what God may have done for you thru Christ) ... What kind of person are you ?

I am not afraid to admit what I am. I am a follower of Jesus Christ. That is what my vote is (Even though I did not vote). I did not vote in the poll so that way I can quickly see who believes what here at CC.

But to say that it doesn't matter how you live is just pure evil. We repented of our sins because we knew we did bad before the LORD. But if you keep continuing to do bad then how is grace and mercy there for you? If you promote that people can do bad or evil and yet be saved might as well be a Satanist or a Murderer or Pornographer or a Person who hurts little kids. You have no morals you got nothing but talk. Jesus essentially told us to walk the talk. For if you are truly born again, then it will show in your life by your actions. Not your righteous actions but Christ doing His righteousness or good work within you. For no man can save Himself by His deeds. But it is the work of God done in the believer that is a part of every believer's Sanctification Process. For to deny this is to deny wanting to walk with God and to accomplish His good will (But rather do your own evil will). But it doesn't work like that. God is good. He is not evil and He will NOT tolerate or allow you to get away with serious sins (with the thinking you will still be saved if you do them).

For while you may see yourself as a saint or God's child others may see an entirely different picture by your behavior. This is important to understand because if one is saved then they have Christ living within them doing the good work in their heart and lives. No Christ. No good fruit. Meaning... no salvation. For he that has the Son has life and he that does not have the Son does not have life (1 John 5:12).

There is a difference between the good and love that the world does versus the good and love that God does within a believer. However, he that sins is of the devil (1 John 3:8). He that is born of God does righteousness (1 John 2:29). Jesus said we are to let our light shine before men. This is the Light of God within us. However, if one is in darkness, then how can they shine any kind of light to anyone?

"Since therefore Christ has suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin;" (1 Peter 4:1).

Also, you will never find any wording in the Bible that says we are sinners saved by grace. We are called the saints for a reason.

For Jesus Christ is the author of eternal salvation to all who OBEY Him (Hebrews 5:9).
