You cannot be a sinner and also be in Christ
That's right. That's why when one is born again they are a new creation. You are no longer considered a sinner. None of this, I'm just a sinner saved by grace trash. Your old man is dead. You are a new creation.

for sure by mercy we are being transformed and regenerated.
for sure by His Spirit working in us we are being made into His likeness.
for sure He is able to complete in me the work He started.
for sure He is able to keep me steadfast until that day when He returns and we know Him fully.

You cannot be a sinner and also be in Christ
Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance:
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners -- of whom I am the worst.

(1 Timothy 1:15)

why is this in present tense -- not past tense?
Paul had pretty good Greek, right?

Seems obvious to me - If Jesus doesn't save us from our sins, we are cast into the fires of hell

Mt:1:21:
21 And she shall bring forth a son: and thou shalt call his name Jesus. For he shall save his people from their sins.

Are you suggesting that Jesus is some kind of license for you to serve the devil's will and live a life of sin?

If you sin, you are a sinner - if you are a sinner, you belong to the devil. I've already posted the Scripture stating sinners are going to hell.

Do the words "SIN NO MORE" ring a bell?

Gal:2:17:
17 But if, while we seek to be justified in Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ then the minister of sin? God forbid!

Are you saying you don't sin anymore?

Why do you people only believe the Word that you like and reject the rest?

You sin daily with your rosary and calling yourself a catholic. I guess you belong to the devil

You people love your sins, and that's why you do not want to believe Jesus - just remember that those very sins you love so much are the cause of eternal fires hell.

Jason, someday you will have children and then perhaps you will understand the heart of God.

The yearning desire to protect the child, the need to nurture and teach, to guide and direct, the willingness to assume their pain,
that's what unconditional is, the limitless mercy, the tireless patience, that's what enduring is.

He loves you so much He gave up Jesus for you. Everything precious, perfect and beautiful for YOU. (and us all)

That's faithful and you þink He is sitting up there with a scorecard checking off whether of not someone is sinning or how long or how many times?

Like He's gonna run outta forgiveness ?

1Cor:4:4:
4 For I am not conscious to myself of anything. Yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.
I don't get it, that verse has nothing to do with sin. Paul is talking about being judged as a steward of the mysteries of God

no why would Paul say something like that, if it is impossible that we who seek to be justified in Christ could find sin in ourselves?

what is it we're defining as "sinner" ?
one whose spirit is not troubled by sin, and even loves it?

or one who hates it, resists it, but even so finds it in himself?

how do the scriptures use this word "sinner" ? is it used the same in every place?
maybe the precise definition will help me navigate this :)

First off, I'm not condoning sin. No one who understands righteousness by faith condones sin, but an act of sin doesn't make a saved person a sinner any more than an act of righteousness makes a sinner righteous.

Look at the example of Abraham from Romans 4. Abraham wasn't made righteous by his obedience to God. Abraham was made righteous by faith and his obedience was a sign, a seal of his righteousness and his faith in God.

We don't become righteous before God by living without sin. Our faith in the grace of God and his mercy through Jesus destroys sin's power and bondage in our lives.

license to sin??
nothing of the sort!!
confessing my sin ≠ condoning my sin

are you suggesting Jesus doesn't save us from our sins?
or that if i confess them, He is not faithful to forgive?

You have to keep reading. Jesus is the author of eternal salvation to all who OBEY Him (Hebrews 5:9).
many are called but few are chosen. its not about what we may do by obeying but about God chosing us and what God does by giving us His spirit.

salvation is free gift and not result of obeying like you are trying to say. we cannot earn something from God by obedience.

Jesus sacrafice was perfect. and it also leaves no room for our own effort to try and archieve something.

Heb 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Rom 8:1-2 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (2) For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

I'm sure you know this verse:

Eph 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: (9) Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Why are you then trying to say we need to by obedience earn something? you cannot contradict the Bible. but you do so...

Well, I know many say believers will do the good things of God, but the real question is can they ALSO do evil and sin (in addition to doing good) thinking their sin is automatically covered (as they commit it) and their conscience is clear?
Certainly not automatic, but I do believe that provision has been made for the repentance of the saint as well as the sinner.

1John 2

1) My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
2) And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for [the sins of] the whole world.
