Ingredients:

red cabbage - 1 head
olive oil
garlic powder
chili powder
salt

Directions:

peel leaves off the cabbage (as far as quantity, just as many as you'd like to consume)
gently toss in olive oil
lay on baking sheet (i line my sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup) and sprinkle garlic powder, chili powder, and a little bit of salt
roast in oven at 250 for around 4 hours

bon appetit :)

Yeah Brainfreeze! I haven't had or prepared kale chips, but they seem to be pretty popular. I've had kale sauteed or in salads but perhaps I'll also get around to experimenting with the chip.

Yes, dont they! How long do u bake? Here, its just not practical to bake for 4 hrs-- cant afford that long... but how abt if cooked in a small broiler oven? I'm not good in estimating how hot and how long that could take.

Yes, I've been making them a few years now, really good for the body, tons of energy packed into them.. They are quite popular now though ..and yeah, you've got to try them!! :) way better then potato chips.. Better for us too..

Everything's about the same except turning the oven to about 350f for about 10-15 min until leaves are nice and brown on the edges but careful not to burn them and then no chili powder. They do have some folks that like them a few different ways with the " seasoning " but how ever you prefer..

Wowzers, this sounds terrific. Will pass this one along to my adult kiddos. They all love to cook. :D

I have struggled to get cabbage leaves apart without breaking or shredding them..any tips? I realize for this recipe it wouldn't matter but for stuffed cabbage recipes it does.

Back in my day, chips needed to be made from potato to be called chips. I guess anything can be called chips these days.

Cabbage crisps, just for you, tintin.

chickwithsticks, I've never made or had stuffed cabbage, but would it help if you put it in hot water for a little bit to soften it up? Or if you cut that stem piece, do all the leaves come apart? I've never tried to keep the whole leaf in tact

Fyi, at 250 degrees the average gas oven costs $0.05 usd per hour to run. So four hours would be twenty cents.

Actually, Aussies are weird. We call both hot chips and packet chips, chips.

Boil a whole head of cabbage in water first until tender. Cut stem and peel away the layers. This works best for stuffed cabbage.

Similar in flavor to kale chips, but a little better looking, cabbage chips can be made from red or green cabbage.

I find it interesting how many Calvinists there are; such faith in this particular topic would call for larger amounts of doubt in the church? However, we see the opposite effect, these people are some of the most faith filled people! I commend them for this; even though i strongly disagree with a passion.
