In recent topics of dating threads, I thought a Fantasy date would be very inappropriate. But, upon further analysis, I noticed quite a lot of funny and smart people out there in the land of the singles forum. Then I wondered, how long will it take for this thread to be derailed. Alrighty, you got your worse date, your best date, and now your fantasy (fictional) date.

This date can be with anyone, anywhere, at anytime.

Example: Having tea with talking magical ponies in the dystopian future. A rock climbing adventure with Princess Leia. A plain old dinner date with Channing Tatum. Seeing Mr. Darcy battling giant mutated rat pirates and having scones afterwards. And also the people you've met or had an eye for in the past. Be them real, historical, and fictitious.

How would your date go?

*sighs*

In all honesty... BEING ASKED OUT ON A DATE... WOULD BE a fantasy right now... :p

(And yes, Luke Skywalker back in the day...

An excellent choice he would have been.)

I'd be invited to Marie Antoinette's house in France, where she would toss out the vegetables the chef prepared and proclaim, "Let us eat cake." We would share as much cake as we wanted, of the chocolate and red velvet variety, and never gain a pound. I would then bid her adieu and live happily ever after. #theend #greateststoryevertold #asromanticasitgets

Ahhh I like this thread. It gives the gentleman ideas and insight into planning those Great unforgettable dates...

Fantasy Date...after getting to know each other as friends first the guy took the courageous step and asked me out. He planned a date with considerations of those things he has come to learn about me over the course of the friendship and creatively factored them into the evening. Simple items that show he has come to learn about me such as having Swedish fish in his pocket, something near water, taking me to an aquarium ...etc. A date tailored for me to show thought. That would be fantastic. I of course would reciprocate in kind later.

An an aquarium with Swedish fish to snack on while holding a Vanilla Latte....this guy "gets me!" LOL :p

Depends on the man. I'm a bit multi-faceted and am comfortable in a lot of situations (aside from being picked up. That freaks me right out)

So... a combo of these things:
Something adventurous. Something creative. LOTS of laughter. Prayer together. Casual but familiar physical contact (brief holding of hands when walking, or a hand on the small of my back, leaning our shoulders together, playful nudging). Something profound. More laughter. Food things/experimentation/preparation. Reading or reciting of a favorite passage. Showing off a little. Little bits of awkward. A soulful kiss. Lingering at the ending.

I have to say too that I miss planning something special for someone and seeing the look in his eyes.

I've mentioned this before but I was married the year the first PlayStation came out and my then-husband wanted one SO bad. But I told him we couldn't afford it. Secretly, I was putting away my own money to buy him one. I bought it just a few days after they came out and couldn't contain my excitement for Christmas to come, so I gave it to him early one afternoon when he had no idea.

The Look on his face.

*sigh* I miss surprising someone like that.

And hopefully it would be someone who liked being surprised by the little things, too.

Truthfully, I would just love to have someone to watch movies or whatever with and be able to talk about them. I saw Ex Machina a few weeks ago (artificial intelligence and the moral implications behind it fascinate me) and it would have been so cool to have someone to discuss it with in depth.

Over pizza and ice cream, of course!

Anywhere, anytime, doing anything, as long as she's mute. She's gotta be mute!

Now that's a great fantasy date. :p

I'm still single because I fall in love ten times a day. And that's usually before lunch. ;)

No. No. I would not take you to an aquarium. However, I would greet you with a small bouquet of Swedish Fish and some wildflowers.

We would go to an alpaca farm and have a blast shearing alpacas. You would return with several skeins of souvenir yarn for your rather cool hobby. We would end the date with vanilla lattes (mine would have some nutmeg) as we walked around the block or perhaps through a park...

...so.....guess I'm not your dream date then. oh darn!

well, for the record, he was rather foolish for giving you up. Having pizza and a few scoops of death with you would be a hoot!

I must leave now, because I am obviously confusing this with the flirt thread. Just that there are way too many cool women on CC.

Spend a week on a secluded tropical island, with parrots and a waterfall, and make a bamboo raft together and catch lobster for dinner and swim in the clear shallow beaches until the sharks come... then go shark fishing....*I hope I'm not recalling a movie I've seen

Lunch IS the place where I fall in love 10 times in a single day... as I'm standing in line for the buffet.

Hopefully, polygastronomy is totally legal.

I wanna go on a date where the main activity is spray painting buildings (yes yes, technically that's graffiti and is frowned upon, blah blah blah I can't heeeear you), but in an improving kind of way and not a "I'm a punk with a paint canister and too much free time" kind of way. But I also want to go zip lining, and eat dinner outside under the stars. And dance, but only if there's no music. And build an army of snowmen together. And...I think my fantasy date requires a lot of time manipulation to accomplish in one evening. And if we're already tweaking time, we might as well hop in our time machine and drink tea with the Victorians, protest and get gassed with some college kids, tangle with a t-Rex, and maybe go into the future and steal a flying car.
