ISIS is starving Christians to death in Mosul right now and no ravens have been spotted bringing in food. Christians have started to death all over the world since Christ's ascension. In fact, even Christian pastors were forcibly starved to death just last century by state atheistic states.
A proper exegesis of scripture reveals that God is foremost concerned with people seeking Him and His kingdom and not to be diverted from that by worldly pursuits... not that no Christian can ever starve to death or it's sinful to wisely prepare for the future.
Obviously, negligence is never godliness and neither is foolishness. The latter (e.g. foolishness) reminds me of the hardships Harold Camping listeners are reporting they endure after quitting their jobs, selling everything, and donating it to charity in preparation of the rapture. Some are living penniless in parks right now begging for food having lost everything and unable to find employment. Then there is the issue of their dependents because negligence and foolishness hurts those God entrusts.
Your situation is different, of course. We do what we can, being wise in all things, and trust God for the rest. Peace.
I believe we are so close to being taken out of here, but I have nothing put aside in case times get bad. I live on such a tight budget that I can barely afford to have any extra on hand. If the ravens can bring meat to Elijah my God will take care of my family and I if it gets that bad.
