Reading this mornings devotional and thought I'd add it to this thread and hopefully see this thread continue it's such a good topic.

Not many people think about this subject in light of these truths since we have been taught mostly to be saved by grace but after that we 'work' for it. To even dare to believe all our sins were paid for seems humanly impossible and religiously impossible. It takes away our human need to keep doing something for God to accept us and love us. Many don't know He already has and does IN Christ.

[TD="colspan: 3, align: left"]People have said to me, “Pastor Prince, I was taught that only my past sins—from the day I was born until the day I became a Christian—have been forgiven, and that my future sins are not forgiven until I confess them and seek forgiveness.”
My friend, when Jesus died on the cross, how many of your sins were future?
Unless you are more than 2,000 years old, all your sins were future then! Jesus took them all upon Himself, nailed them to the cross and declared, “It is finished!” So if you are not forgiven of all, then you are not forgiven at all.
“You mean Jesus also died for the sin that I have just committed?”
Yes!
“And also for the sins which I will commit?”
Yes! That is why He said, “It is finished!”
But many of us are inconsistent in our believing. One part of us says, “God has forgiven me of all my sins.” But another part says, “Yes, but I must still confess my sins to be forgiven of them.” Are you like that?
Beloved, you are forgiven not because of your work of confession. Your confession cannot wash away your sins. You are forgiven because of the blood of Jesus shed for you. His blood alonecleanses you.
You cannot believe that you are forgiven of your past, present and future sins, and still think that there is something for you to do to make that forgiveness complete. If you do, then it becomes your work too, not Jesus’ alone.
Is there a place for confession of sins? My friend, if you have just sinned, you can always tell God about it without feeling condemned because you know that you already have forgiveness and that Jesus was condemned in your place. But you don’t confess your sins to God in order to be forgiven. You already have total and complete forgiveness because of the blood of Jesus!

What people do not understand is we will NOT be Judged at the Great White Throne for the sins we committed!

What we will be Judged by is is our name in the Book of Life?

There are two sets of Books. The works we have done in one Book and if we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior in another Book.

All those whose name was NOT found in the Book of Life will be cast into the Lake of Fire and all those who name was in the Book of Life WILL enter into Heaven!

The whole point here is not about the sins we have done, its all about our name being in the Book of Life.

Does this mean we can sin all we want? NO!

We still have to make an effort not to sin. But God knows we will give in to our sins and He is Faithful to forgive us for our sins if we confess our sins to Him.

1 John 1:9
[SUP]9 [/SUP] If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If I am being honest I have to confess that I am disappointed that the WOF movement has kinda high-jacked the grace message. It has just given those opposed to the undiluted grace message more ammunition for misunderstanding.

Hey guys, just came back from vacation. Nice grace posts everyone, enjoyed what I was reading (catching up on the thread). I really liked one of your posts shotgunner that spoke of the grace movement never being about a license to sin and addressing the concept of hyper grace. Anyways guys, thanks for keeping the thread alive so others could awaken to the complete forgiveness they have in Jesus Christ.

People get saved by Grace through Faith and afterwards think that by confessing their sins they will be forgiven but GOD already forgave us of all our sins(talking about those that are reborn)and JESUS said it is finished.

God has forgiven us from all our sins on the Cross. He does want us to confess our sins to Him. Not because these sins were not forgiven, but because by confessing we return to Jesus and get back on the right road that leads to Heaven.

It's alright to confess if it makes you feel better but GOD already forgave you of all sin when you got saved or he didn't forgive you at all.

Romans 8:1-2
king James version(KJV)

1.)
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2.)
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
+++
The second part of that verse in Romans 8:1 probably is the part that throws people off but when you get saved it was by Grace and you can't get saved by Grace and then start adding to the already finished work of CHRIST.

That's because the second part was added by the translators. Later when the same phrase is used it does not mean to walk without sin. It means to order your life from a spiritual standpoint rather than by a fleshly, natural standpoint. There is no condemnation if by the Spirit you understand that you are a new creation ,created righteous ,not by your own works but by the grace of God. The flesh, natural mind will only see the outward appearance. The flesh mind will base salvation on how well the outward man behaves.

Me too but the truth is that it is the only way to live a sanctified life. The way out of sin is not doubling your efforts to resist sin. The way out of sin is by embracing righteousness by faith.

Highjacking grace how? Is not the forgiveness of sins in a confessed state the same amount of grace as the clearing of our slate by Christ Jesus on a cross thru regeneration?? Is not the premise of Christ's work the foundation of Gods movement as well and yet needed by chosen sin? He says if you confess your sins He will cleanse you from ALL unrighteousness, and tosses in forgiveness to boot. God and Jesus have shown themselves to be the same in their grace.

The problem for us is the accountability to the meaning of confession. To need to die in our right to ourselves and give in by way of, what is sometimes costly in efforts personally, to simply obeying Him uncontested, but to also live in accordance with the narrow purity of God vs. our desire to give way to a much more tolerable stipulation.....The problem is we aren't fighting for a accurate picture of graces fullness, we are contending with our lack of faith. Submitting to Gods narrow purity in a way of life only seen in way of a relationship with the giver of such a possibility is a different Spiritual Reality, yet, undiluted, than hiding chosen sin and choosing to cover it up with a false doctrine of His grace. We are freed by Him, both in our original sin, and after, but we must respond in both instances, and continually. Both, Back with the belief of the cross' purpose for us the cross for Him and thru our death unto it-continually....pick up your cross daily and follow me Luke reads. This has nothing to do with a ..."BY works process.." but has everything to do with a "...Love relationship unto obedience..." at the cross and continually so, We must continue to give way to our understanding of our ownership by Him, an ownership of the God of love. we are now forever subject to Him, God says to sit down and count that cost as well....not by works unto Himself but in the life of a spiritual surviver of sin, by way of Jesus Christ and what He has accomplished and is. The 'being' of sin has not changed at all.He has taken us up and over it, thru Christ Jesus if we but hang on to Him. This is a repeated message, but so be it it's correct.

Yes the second part of Romans 8:1 was added on, but it still does not change or make it no less true what that scripture says.

Because Apostle Paul repeats no less then 4 times in this same chapter that we can no longer walk by the flesh, we have to walk by the Spirit. Paul also states those who walk by the flesh are still under the bondage of the law, and if you are under bondage of the law you are not in the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ !!!

I agree with everything you are saying. Still walking in the flesh doesn't mean walking in sin, though those who walk in the flesh can certainly be walking in sin. Walking in the flesh is not receiving the truth of the Spirit, only being flesh minded.

Of coarse those who walk only after the flesh are going to be under the bondage of law. They are only walking after the outward appearance and have not received the gift of righteousness by faith.

Paul makes the issue very clear when he says:[SUP]6 "[/SUP]For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace." Walking in the flesh or walking in the Spirit is speaking of either ordering your life based on the perceptions of the flesh , or ordering your life based on the perceptions of the Spirit, or we could say living your life by faith.

You keep saying the bold above but that makes no sense because how can a person walk in the flesh and not be sinning ???

Walking in the flesh means you set your sites on doing the things of the flesh, which means you are not focusing on Christ, which is a sin !!!

Any time you put something before the Lord our God that is sinning, and walking by the flesh means you are doing exactly that. Putting the things of this world before Him !!!

Apostle Paul usages different wording to explain the same things; carnally minded, walking in the flesh, spirit of bondage, under the law, and serving sin is all the same.........

Let me see if I can get you to understand a different way.

Would you say that any of us walk completely free from sin every day based only on what we do or can do?

This is a simple yes or no question. Don't give me 20 scriptures. I agree with every scripture you could give. I'm trying to make a simple point here and show you what I am saying.

Everyday.....................................No

But can we go some days or a few days in a role, or even more then that without sinning...............Yes

The difference is a person who walks in the Spirit when they do fall back and sin they will repent and confess that sin to be forgiven of it just as the Word of God says !!!

Walking in the flesh vs. walking in the Spirit and be said like this..........walking in habitual sin vs. walking in love
