So genetic deformities and severe mental retardations, and babies who survive just minutes after birth? These are all on purpose?
I guess you missed this?

Physical anomalies are challenges to shape an individual to rely on God. Psycholgoical issues are really spiritual issues, and demand an outreach to God to resolve.

Anyone ever heard of "Body integrity identity disorder"? Its apparently a disorder where people feel like they have too many limbs. They feel their life would be better if they had less limbs.Of course no doctor will actually do this. From Wiki... BIID can be associated with apotemnophilia, sexual arousal based on the image of one's self as an amputee .It is treated with drugs and counseling. But no doctors will agree to amputate limbs. So I have to ask,why is this treated as a disorder of the mind and transgenders are not? Thoughts?
Simple, Kayla. Forcing the world to accept that transgenders, or for that matter lesbians, gays, and bisexuals are "normal" is yet another form of denying God, and they go so far as Nautilus did here as to try to make God appear hapless, or us to appear bigots, stupid, or stupid bigots. It is a denial of creation that goes to the very heart of their godlessness, their denial making it possible for them to pretend their sin makes no difference. Omni is particularly good at this.

Funny. Same government considers eye exams and dental work as "cosmetic," so we can lose our eye sight and all our teeth, but heaven forbid not being able to mutilate ourselves.

We used to buy our fresh produce from a huckster. (Hucksters -- people who sell produce in stands or trucks along the side of the streets in a city.) We got to know him pretty well after a few years, and then he disappeared. We ran into him half a year later in the grocery store. He lost his business from an abscessed tooth. The abscess broke off, traveled to his heart, lodged, and caused a heart attack. It wasn't covered because it came under "dental work."

Another friend had the lens in her eye come off. She and hubby are both disabled, but she's been denied 7 times. (Apparently you should be able to work without a hip bone.) Together they live on his $1400 a month Disability. Eye problems aren't covered, plus she's allergic to all anesthesia. She was awake when they sewed the lens back on, and they spent the next several years paying for that surgery.

Again, dental work and eye problems is cosmetic, but mutilation ought to be covered.

This isn't a great argument. Not really. If someone has a genetic disorder that can be treated or corrected, it should be. The same way, if a tooth's causing pain, it should be treated the same as a limb that's causing pain. If a person's going blind and it can be helped, it should be helped. That some insurance companies consider dental work cosmetic, doesn't negate the fact that medical problems (dental, opthalmic, or otherwise) need to be treated in order for a person to be healthy.

We don't have any of these problems where I live, because medicine is a public industry. That people have to insure themselves in order to get medical treatment, that insurance is a for-profit private industry, that access to medical care is dictated by a contract with a for-profit business, has more to do with your friends' inability to get their ocular and dental troubles treated than does anything else.

The proper way of killing a snapping turtle for turtle soup is to entice the 25-30 pound turtle into biting the end of a broom. Once they bite, they don't let go, freeing you from the possibility of it biting you when you grab its tail.

Oh, sorry. I thought this was a not-related-at-all side show for this post, like you've done. I can actually give step by step directions all the way through without requiring copy-paste from a site online, if you'd like.

It's totally relevant, seeing as VigilantWarrior thinks it's impossible for humans to have the XY sex chromosome and be born without typical male sexual characteristics like a penis. Obviously the man needs to learn a bit more about human biology.

People are born with all kinds of crazy stuff. Doesn't mean that taxpayers should be forced to pay to reverse or correct it. It's one of the hazards of life.

The way I see things, we're born without our consent, we live in whatever conditions we were randomly born into, and we don't choose whether we're born in Ireland or Afghanistan, whether we have rich parents or poor parents, whether we're black, white, male, female, somewhere in between, whether we're healthy or sick at the point of birth. We don't choose any of that for ourselves, and eventually we all die. While we're alive, well, I'm sure we all have medical issues at some point.

Considering that the circumstances of our births are quite the lottery, I quite like that part of my taxes are used to ensure people get access to medical care when they need it. I don't think that just because someone's born into a richer family, they should be able to access healthcare while those who are born, just as randomly, into a poorer family, should be unable to access it. That's why I'm glad healthcare's socialized here. The same goes for building social housing, keeping the roads well-maintained, and funding primary, secondary and tertiary education for underprivileged kids.

In my eyes and the eyes of my peers and the majority of my countrymen and women, medical care's not a matter of money, it's a matter of right. I like that. I'm good with it. It works for me.

The truth is...the only "right" we have is to be drop kicked straight into hell. The only person ever born who had a right to carry a grudge an entitled attitude or access to healthcare or anything else for that matter...carried a cross instead. Works for me and that is the way I see it.

Do they have socialized medicine there, too?

But on a more serious note. The only right we have is hell. Well, I guess we'll get rid of law, taxes, socialized building, road maintenance. No need to keep creating all those jobs either. Hey, and the military, we could scrap that too. Maybe we could have an annual purge and as for helping other people, what's the point?

Look, just because you believe life is inherently worthless and vile, doesn't mean everybody else does. Personally, I'm glad that those little pieces of paper they take from me every month, can be used to make peoples' lives better.

I understand what you are saying if it is coming from a non-biblical world view.

If you've got an eternity of bliss to look forward to, I'd like to think you could at least spare a small percentage of your taxes each month to help pay for healthcare for all the millions of people that are bound by fate to be burned to a crisp until the end of time, (only after after they've suffered medical woes they couldn't get treatment for, mind you). But you can't, or won't. So don't act as though I'm the one who considers life meaningless. The only reason you've got, to make you want to do any good for anybody, is getting on the right side of hell. That's more worthless than words can describe. Just look at how hard it's made you.

What on earth is this? Help them enjoy their life before their eternity in hell? Is that what Christ told us to do? Why not give them the gospel instead?

Enjoy? Lol aside from being averse to fun (which seems to be a strange pattern among you lot), undergoing medical procedures isn't exactly synonymous with fun; it's keeping healthy.

Having surgery done to your body to make it look the way you want is not keeping healthy, its unnecessary and vain.

Actually, it's usually the parent's insurance plan that pays for correcting the anomalies. And, if the parents happened to be on Medicare, Medicaid or are military people, yes, it really is up to the government to pay to fix the problem, if it's fixable.

A friend's son was born with his penis attached to his abdomen. You don't think that's up to a doctor to separate it or for insurance to cover it? (Insurance did cover it because it happens often enough.)

One of my friends in college was born a pseudo-hermaphrodite. Grew up the first 12 years of her life thinking she was a boy, but feeling like a girl. Only when she started having her period, but it didn't discharge, so petrified, did the truth become revealed. You don't think insurance should cover that? (Actually, I don't know if it was covered. She grew up in another country, and once all the community found out he was a she, she was taunted enough that her family moved to America for a new start, including a lot of counseling.)

Truly, things like this really should be covered by insurance. Why would you put a limit on real health care?

Easy for you to say. You're blaming America, while all along, you don't even know the country. You do like to show off your ignorance though.

None of this is meaningful to you either, just another place where you can argue against Christianity while ignoring the obvious -- God.

It's anger against God. (To answer your first question, but it also answers your last question. Omni is just on this site to argue against God, but won't admit that for fear of being banned.)

It's exactly why we have health insurance. It's why I have it. Maybe planned parenthood should actually be helping people plan for parenthood before they pull the metaphorical trigger on having children. The reality is that the symptoms of the state of the world and all the associated bad choices people make aren't the actual problem.
