Everyday.....................................No

But can we go some days or a few days in a role, or even more then that without sinning...............Yes

The difference is a person who walks in the Spirit when they do fall back and sin they will repent and confess that sin to be forgiven of it just as the Word of God says !!!

Walking in the flesh vs. walking in the Spirit and be said like this..........walking in habitual sin vs. walking in love
Though I would say we all sin every day in some small way, what you have just told me is that you are looking at your own sin spiritually minded. Understanding that it's something more than the natural that saves you from sin. Because of that ,you have life and peace. You have peace knowing that Jesus will keep you, not throw you away because you have sinned after you are saved.

Now contrast that with a flesh mind that is enmity against God. That mind cannot receive the things of God. That walking in the flesh person will never understand the grace of God. That person will never understand how a man can be saved, sin and still be saved, because he is only basing his walk on the flesh and never on the quickening spirit of Christ.

If we walk with God we will not full fill the Lusts of the flesh. Its when we take our eyes off of God is when we stumble.

When that happens we dust ourselves off and ask Jesus to forgive us for those sins and continue to follow God.

1 John 1:9
[SUP]9 [/SUP] If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Notice we are to confess to our sins to Him. Nowhere does God tell us to confess our sins to a Catholic Priest who Worships and serves Mary.

I do not like the phrase "sin and still be saved" because it is to vague, and could lead others to think they have a license to sin and do not have to change.

We have to teach the repentance and confession along with it, and also how to walk properly in the faith.
If we do not then we leave others to wander in their sinful natures, and this whole talk that all sin is automatically forgiven at minute one of coming to the faith is not biblical. Only those that have been done up to that point have been forgiven, and the Apostles Paul and Peter both show this in Romans 3:25 and 2 Peter 1:9.

Apostle John shows us in his epistle in the first chapter how future sins are covered, and he says two things continuing to walk in the light (1 John 1:7) and confessing those sins (1 John 1:9).

People try to explain those away such as they do with Romans trying to say this was only for OT, yet right before that it shows Paul is talking to Jews and Gentile believes both. Johns epistle they try to explain away as saying this was spoken to those before conversion, but John includes himself in the discussion.

I think 1st John1:9 is talking about salvation.

You should not like it because it is a loaded term often used to make allowance for iniquity in the heart.

Salvation is not just the forgiveness of sins but is inclusive of a being set free from the bondage of sin.

The bondage of sin is literal, not figurative. In other words any individual who chooses to engage in wrongdoing (ie. violating their conscience) is in bondage to sin and by definition not saved.

Salvation is inclusive of a very real heart transformation. The hearts of the saved has been purged of inward iniquity and this the motivation to yield to evil has been completely destroyed. Temptation still exists of course but the enslavement to "yielding to temptation" does not.

Thus an individual whom is saved does not engage sins like these...

Gal 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Gal 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Gal 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

This is inclusive of adultery and hatred in the heart (Mat 5:21-28). The iniquity within the heart has been completely purged.

Now being saved from sin does not mean we have all knowledge, understanding, or wisdom. We still grow in grace and knowledge and due to the need to grow we most definitely fall short of the mark at times. Yet this falling short are not to be confused with wickedness or willful sin. An example of falling short can be setting a priority wrong, directing our energies in a less than efficient way, misjudging an individual based on a superficial initial presentation. We might draw a false conclusion about something without realising that we need to examine something more and be patient. There are many ways to miss the mark out of which we grow to maturity.

"Sin and still be saved" is generally sentiment expressed which makes no distinction between sins of ignorance and sins of rebellion. "Sin and still be saved" is generally sentiment rooted in a purely abstract positional view of salvation, a salvation in which the service of sin is taught to still exist.

Apostle John shows us in his epistle in the first chapter how future sins are covered, and he says two things continuing to walk in the light (1 John 1:7) and confessing those sins (1 John 1:9).

Future sins are not covered. That is erroneous.

Paul wrote this...

Rom 4:7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
Rom 4:8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Whose sins are covered? It is those whom have no guile within their spirit.

Psa 32:1 A Psalm of David, Maschil. Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
Psa 32:2 Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

It is the faithful (those walking according to the Spirit) whose faith is reckoned as righteousness.

Rom 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Rom 4:12 And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.

Genuine faith has steps because it is reflective of a heart condition, it is reflective of a spirit without guile.

1Joh 1:7-10 is speaking of a correct initial approach to God whereby one comes clean in repentance. It is not speaking of future ongoing sins and therefore future ongoing cleansing. Clean is clean. Pure is pure.

Those who contend that 1Joh 1:8-10 is teaching that future sins are cleansed by the blood upon confession are teaching that a sacrifice remains for ongoing sin. The Bible is very clear when it says...

Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Heb 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
Heb 10:28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
Heb 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

The context of the above passage is this...

Heb 10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
Heb 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
Heb 10:18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
Heb 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
Heb 10:20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
Heb 10:21 And having an high priest over the house of God;
Heb 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Take note that where sin is remitted there is no more offering for sin. The cleansing upon entering into the New Covenant is designed to be a one time cleansing which is why the writer of Hebrews states there is no ongoing sacrifice for ongoing sin.

God did not send Jesus to provide ongoing cleansing for ongoing filth. God sent Jesus to effect a true freedom from sin and a true cleansing. Jesus offered himself on our behalf to purify us and redeem us from all iniquity.

All iniquity means all iniquity.

Pure means pure.

Modern religion denies this which is why dogmatic teachings exist which give comfort to people by providing them with a notion that they can engage in rebellion to God and not surely perish. Don't be deceived by this sentiment.

John is clearly putting emphasis in 1Joh 1:7-10 on the correct means to approach God in order to be cleansed once and for all. We have to come clean with God (ie. true heart) and confess that we have rebelled, then upon trusting and yielding ourselves to God we are cleansed of all our sin. We are given a fresh start, we begin our walk of faith in accordance to the Spirit which now indwells us. We now have to endure unto the end in order to inherit eternal life.

God has given us everything we need by which we escape the corruption that is in the world through lust in order that we may be partakers in the divine nature. It is through partaking in the divine nature (quickening by grace/love shed abroad in the heart) that we walk victoriously in this world over the lusts of the flesh, the lusts of the eyes and the pride of life. We have been crucified with Christ and we no longer live for ourselves but live for righteousness abiding in the Spirit of life in Jesus Christ.

This is the truth. A truth most reject because most really do not want to truly repent.

It is a strait gate and narrow way and we have to strive and endure. It is the means of true life.

God bless.

My goodness Kenneth! Find me someone who says they are a Christian and still wants to find a license to sin, to be able to sin and still be fine with God, I'll show you someone who needs to get saved. I'm not getting into that ridiculous argument again because it is based on the false premise that a saved person wants to sin.

Any individually who willfully engages in wrongdoing, knowing it is wrongdoing, clearly wants to sin.

Sure there may be an aspect to their character in which they do not want to engage in the wrongdoing but at the root they still do want to do it.

There are many drunkards and pornography addicts, for example, who want to overcome their vice and yet they still continue in it. This is because sinning encompasses bondage and to be set free from sin the bondage must be broken. This is why the Bible expresses the "service of sin" in the context of being "enslaved to sin" and why the rescue provided by Jesus Christ is often expressed with the term "redemption" ie. a ransom from bondage.

The bondage of Israel in Egypt is a type and shadow of an individuals bondage to the service of sin. It is through death (crucifixion of the old man in repentance) and rebirth (being born of the Spirit) that true freedom from such bondage is attained. Hence it is the Spirit of life in Jesus Christ which sets us free from the law of sin and death.

Through abiding in the Spirit of Jesus Christ, having died to the service of sin, we are able to walk in freedom and victory. This is the will of God.

The reason salvation cannot be wrought through works apart from faith, ie. works of the law, gritting teeth and following rules and regulations, is because the root of sin is iniquity in the heart.

The issue is the heart.

The heart has to be purged of iniquity once and for all and it is only then that one can outwardly walk in victory over sin. The outward walk of victory is reflective of the internal manifestation of victory. Hence Jesus told the Pharisees that they must cleanse first that which is within that the outside may be clean. The Pharisees had not done that for they had neglected the internal. neglected the spiritual. and instead served the outward through the rites, rituals, rules and regulations of their religion.

The same error is evident today with a subtle difference.

Today's error is not to be found in the rites and rituals, the rules and regulations of some religion. Rather it is found in dogmatic theological bullet points to which people are compelled to give mental assent.

The underlying error of neglecting the root of sin is present in both systems. The same deception is manifest, it is just presented differently.

It is not a false premise as the bible shows our free will is not taken away.

Again read Acts 20:28-31 where Apostle Paul clearly says disciples being lead astray by false teaching, and disciples are believers they are not unbelievers. He also says they will not be spared in that chapter !!!

Kenneth may not accept because he doesn't understand or maybe he understands but he doesn't accept it but don't take his stance personal because there are listeners that are being helped.

Kenneth is a good guy. We can usually come together on common ground when we argue enough to make each other understand what we mean instead of what the other thinks we mean.LOL

If I point you to a "Christian" just like the one you are describing... how hard are you willing to work to get them saved??? I mean this sincerely. The "ARGUEMENT" might seem redundant or pointless here in the forum... but there are PEOPLE walking around living in BLATANTLY SINFUL lifestyles who are surrounded by more people who tickle their ears and stroke their "churchianity" and they are all DECEIVED! I care... I care a LOT... and as much I have searched for a verse that says "SMACK "EM up side the head with a bible and they will come to their senses and GET SAVED" there isn't one... people are perishing... they have to have their sin POINTED OUT TO THEM plainly from the scriptures and be shown via the scriptures that they are HELLBOUND even tho they believe they are going to heaven.

Read Acts 20:28-31............

Does Apostle Paul there say unbelievers are getting deceived by false teaching, or is he saying disciples (believers) are getting deceived ???

Thank you and yes we don't always see eye to eye, and we do have some things we believe in common.

However in this we still stay friendly and respectful with each other, and don't go off just making bold false accusations or condemning one another.

This here I can agree with you on, as there are a lot of people walking around believing they are saved but are still continuing in everyday habitual sinning. They are lead in a false doctrine that sinning will not cost them to not receive salvation.

This also goes with falling away or departing from the faith and not ending up with eternal life unless that person returns to the Lord. This is biblically sound !!!

The lie that you can not be lead astray to go off following false doctrines or that falling away is impossible was started by the likes of Augustine and Calvin, both of which have issues in their doctrines that will lead people to perdition.

Both Jesus and the Apostle Paul reserved their harshest words for the mostly hidden "habitual" sins of hypocrisy, pride, greed and legalism. Habitual sins which many discount in themselves in favor of pointing their finger at others outward sins and condemning them.

The 'falling away' is not a return to sins, as if any of us have to 'return' there. It is a falling back to the Law as the means of making yourself acceptable to God. God settled the sin issue 2000 years ago. Yes all sin is a problem. It ain't good. But the issue with salvation isn't sin's, the issue is life. Life which we all need and which Christ alone has.

Galatians 5:19-21
[SUP]19 [/SUP] Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,
[SUP]20 [/SUP] idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,

We are not to practice sinning. Those who practice sinning will not Inherit the Kingdom of God.

Yes we do sin everyday because we are trapped in this sinful body, but we are NOT to practice our sinning!

This really speaks to me too. "The falling away is returning to the works of the law as the means of making yourself acceptable to God." In daily life as believers it is always something we have to be reminded of., to know our acceptance is only in Jesus. We are continually accepted based on 'the power of an endless life' I love that verse in Hebrews 7:16

Who has been constituted a Priest, not on the basis of a bodily legal requirement (an externally imposed command concerning His physical ancestry) but on the basis of the POWER OF AN ENDLESS AND INDESTRUCTIBLE LIFE. Amp.Bible

How successful our daily life is and the quality of our whole life will depend on how well we keep this truth in mind.

Hince the word "habitual" which are sins a person either continues doing or returns to doing without any desire to turn from them. Allowing them to continue control their lives, and returning to the law is returning to sin.

Also the word of God says all sins will lead to death if not repented of.

If a person is walking in a willful/deliberate/habitual sinful nature they are not saved, and the bible makes this clear for we can not serve sin/flesh and serve the Lord/righteousness both and receive eternal life.

We are all pros at sinning, we need no "practice", and there is nothing sinful about the human body.
