....<goes to kitchen, gets BBQ lighter, Returns to thread, sets ET's STRAWMAN on fire>... I will now conclude that YOU are going to continue to be dismissive about having a conversation by continuing to BELITTLE my comments in asserting my thoughts and ideas are some strawman construct. You can talk to yourself now.

I call a rock a rock. I would never call a rock a crayon, for that would be a lie.

in the same token, I call a strawman argument a stawman.

All you did was keep throwing strawmen arguments at me, and refused to stick to the issue, and judge me by claiming I said things I never said or insinuated.

But you seem to have a habit of that against me for whatever reason. so be it.

( I am still waiting for you to show me where I called you a judiaser? That was your strawman I was trying to show. you made a false accusation. those are strawmen arguments, and not sticking to the facts.)

The Old Testament is the Word of God and is certainly not obsolete or irrelevant. Jesus read from it in the synagogue. I guess that He didn't get the memo.

of course no one here is saying, or has ever said we should never read the OT.

Did I just like a KennethC post? Kenneth, have you left the dark side? :D lol

Never was part of the dark side...................

I have always stood for all the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ, and just because I do not agree in the same way as you on what parts the word of God speaks of. My full trust and faith is in the Lord and what He said to keep all of His teachings !!!

Answer to questions 1,2, and 3. I do it for the sake of love. Leviticus 19:17 It does anger me and I confess that I often think about 2 verses when these types of things happen, like there are obviously people who are actually scared of something, so they keep watch, and have to attack it before it spreads because of their own presumptuousness. I often wonder if they are consciously working for the adversary. Not my call however. Speak against God's word (any part of it) and speak to your own demise. The verses are..........

Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Ephesians 4:26

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. Jude 1:3

Then there is hope for those who do not sit on their laurels.

Matthew 25:21-23
[SUP]21 [/SUP]His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

[SUP]22 [/SUP]He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.

[SUP]23 [/SUP]His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

With God, it's all or nothing. There is no middle ground such as the doctrine of Balaam has. Compromise the word of God on purpose and the payment is hell.
Does that get easier with age? I do see I'm less contentious than I was when I was younger, but it doesn't feel like that is enough "less" for my age. lol

He takes away the first so that He might establish the second (Heb 10.9).

He gave us the physical first so we could understand the spiritual when it came second. But that requires an accurate understanding of the covenants without the hindrance of a carnal mind refusing to understand, mostly because it requires something on our part. God DOES require some things of us, like it or not.

....From his perspective, we are under both old and new because all of it is His word and that is indeed what a judaizer would say.
This is a question for Just-Me.

Is this at all related to what you're really saying? Because I have never seen you remotely saying this. Could you clarify what you believe compared to this assumption of what you believe?

I agree with your point, but KennethC also makes a good point, the first biblically accurate thing I've seen him post. lol However, I think he read too much into what you were saying about it being a foundation to Christianity, as it is. It may not be the foundation in the area of our faith, but that wasn't what you were saying. You are just saying that the OT is important to our faith, and it is, so much is revealed about Jesus Christ, even so His role as High Priest and being the Lamb that was slain. So many shadows and types. So many paralleling truths. Throwing out the OT isn't smart, you would lose so much revelation about Jesus Christ and the plan of redemption/reconciliation.

This is why I get annoyed by some, these little not needed opinionated smug comments............

For what I have stated on the bible is only not accurate in your mind as of what you have been taught by others, but I use scripture to prove my stances and then even use scriptures to back up those scriptures I first used. Because scripture must be used to interpret scripture along with the Holy Spirit's guidance.

Making one scripture stand alone has been shown to be a wrong study habit since the early church age, which is why we can not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

Just one. Belief. Obedience follows but don't mistake the foundation of belief with the obedience that follows as a result of love and a new nature. Confusing the fruit with the root leads to a self-righteous Gospel. Why do people insist on adding complexity to the simplicity of the Gospel?

Who said anything about wanting to stay in iniquity? I simply understand that in Christ I am not in iniquity. It seems to me that you however would rather judge your iniquity on your own ability to obey the law. If that's not so then tell me in the simplest terms possible.

I like to answer with scripture so I'm not misunderstood. Then if a person disagrees with that they are conversing their misunderstandings with God Himself.

For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world. 1 Corinthians 11:31-32

Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? 2 Corinthians 13:5

For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. 1 John 3:20-21

To me, these verses bring us to the "law of liberty." It's not an idol/idle statue of liberty, but a moving/conforming statute of liberty. LOL

Exactly how I'm feeling today. Thank you!

On the other hand... there is hope. I'm just checking to see if it's real hope or Lynnie-optimism striking again.

again, if you looked at many things he has said since he has been here, you would see this. I am sure just-me will deny this (I would hope not. but I have seen it to many times)

we are not coming at just me just because we want to fight, it is his past threads, and things he has said which makes us understand what he is talking about.

(thats why he never answers our questions. A person who is not afraid, or on the up and up would be able to answer all questions readily, and not just ignore them, or push one verse which really does not answer a question. they would answer the question.

to me the older you get, the harder it is.. lol.. Change is never easy, but when we have done things for so long, it is harder to change our habits or beliefs.

Thats why it takes maturity in Christ, not age, to help us, the more we rely on God to empower us, and not our own ability to do things. the easier it gets. (I hope this makes sense)

I am not quoting verbatim the words that he has typed, but the implication of them. The logical conclusions. He has not outright said such a thing, but if you read in between the smoke and mirrors it is clearly seen.

Why do people hide behind "the simplicity of the gospel" fully aware God is not now nor ever has been simple?

And I am finally understanding why -- so they don't have to dig in deep for anything, yet feel justified in pouncing on those who want to dig in deep. Their gospel becomes complex when it suits them.

what does God require from us, apart from humility, and faith in him?

Not being argumentative, just asking, in case I misunderstood you.

And then you returned. :(

Keeping all of Jesus teachings from the gospel books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John is not being of darkness, and His teachings in those books are not for the OT.

If you believe this I can show you where everything the Lord said is upheld in the epistles from Paul, Peter, James, John, Jude, Hebrews, and even in Acts.

And Apostle Paul confirms and expounds on everything the Lord said himself !!!
