I do my best to hold the door for people right behind me and especially the older people although most of the time the guy corrects me and says that's my job so that's where I thank them and go through the door. The reason why I do my best to open the door for others is because I know how it feels to have someone slam the door right on me and I wouldn't want that for anyone.

That's just sad... that's why so many people just stoped being nice to each other...
But if you stop being nice for fear of what others will do, than you let those rude people have it their way...
I remember this one lady at work... I would greet her with a smile and a "good morning" and she would just give me a blank (almost annoyed) look and she would look the other way...
It took me a few months... but eventually she started to greet me back... hehehehe

I know I was on a date with a guy and I corrected him on something and he refused to open the car door for me and then he expected me to hold his hand on the way home and I refused. It's not like I was too excited to get in the car with him especially since he liked to drive like a wild man. There was no second date, as I told him to lose my number.
