It doesn't matter if you are his wife, his first born son, his best friend who was born in the same hospital and raised in the same town and been friends with him all his life, or even his dog... Never asked for the remote.

If a friend does something that everybody else doesn't do - say he drives a pink car or brings his lunch from home when everyone else always eats out (or the opposite) or wears toe shoes or has a wiener dog - you are allowed to make jokes about it every time the topic of (cars, lunch, shoes, dogs, whatever) comes up. And he is not allowed to punch you in the mouth the 250th time you make the joke. HE is the one who does something different, so he has to accept any jokes about it. Even if you have made the same wisecrack for 30 years, he still has to take it.
