When you're made fun of for being weird or different all your life, you can get easily hurt when others do it too.
I was bullied all through childhood so I can relate to this, but I also know that some had it worst than me. I also suffer from low self-esteem and am often overly sensitive to things people say or do. Sorry you have go through this as well. I understand where you're coming from.

So, I did it. I sucked it up, and called someone on my chicken list today... And... Nothing to show for it. That promotion is so dang close! Just five people, universe! Bring me five people!
I still have a few left on my chicken list, but if they go like today did... Let's just say I'll be even more bummed.

I saw Everest the movie, today. It was great, very sad though. Has anyone else seen it? I had no idea how deadly the mountain is.

What's with you people and peanut butter???? -.-
Haha! What do you mean, dear sister? Peanut butter's a popular spreading here and I enjoy it. Nothing more than that. We're not friends or something. And he's certainly not invited when I have ice-cream.

Okay, Brazilians, help me out.

My sister-in-law is Brazilian, from Nova Iguacu. I spent 10 days in Rio de Janeiro a few summers ago. Loved Brazil, it's great. Loved the food. Except one thing.

I don't get farina. I don't understand it one bit. I know you guys love it, but I can't make sense of it.

Here's some feijoada. So tasty! But we have to put farina on it, because we put farina on everything! Now it tastes...like feijoada with sand!

Mmmm, picadinho! Hey, don't forget to add farina! Mmmm, picadinho...and sand!

Oh, did your franco or pesce come with rice and kale on the side? Of course it did! And naturally, rice isn't eaten without farina so...now the rice is just kind of gritty.

I'm not trying to be mean; I'm just trying to understand. I honestly feel like farina doesn't actually have a FLAVOR. It doesn't taste of anything. It didn't change the flavor of anything I put it on. It just makes things sandy or gritty. Does it add extra nutrients or something?

I'mma sit here and drink caipirinhas until one of you gets back to me. There's a reason I bought a bottle of cachacha, and now's the time to put it to use.

I mean... you people have a thing with peanut butter... on movies and tv you spread it on bread with jelly... o_O

That is so weird I can't even begin to described it.... -.-

But it's cool... I won't hold that weirdness against anybody..
People are allowed to like and dislike whatever...

As long as the thing doesn't touch my food, I'm cool... :)

Peanut butter and jelly is a North American thing, I'm an Aussie. We don't do that here. Peanut butter and honey, peanut butter by itself, peanut butter with garlic and soy sauce and tofu. I enjoy peanut butter, but never would I eat it will jelly or in ice-cream. No way, Jose!

I'm laughing so hard right now!!!

Yeah... you got us... that's our peanut butter thing... :)

Farinha is the most awesome thing ever and it goes with pretty much any kind of food!! And you can get it and prepare it into farofa, which is even better!!! :)

You don't have to like it or eat it... we won't hold it against you!!! ;)

It's probably a brazilian thing! ;)

Cachacha will put me right on my tush. I can't drink it. Even with a lot of lime and sugar. Good stuff though... WOWZA.

I'm not a fan of farina (AKA Cream of Wheat here in the States).

My girlfriend who lived in Brasil for awhile had this pepper vinegar that made the back of your ears burn... and I always used deliciously too much of that. And Chebe is an amazing thing indeed.

Thai style! SO YUM! (I make my sauce with peanut butter, coconut milk, tamari, garlic, ginger, lemongrass and LOTS of sriracha.)

And peanut butter on your ice cream is amazing. Esp vanilla or dark chocolate!

Not on toast! It's eaten as an accompaniment to a main course. And the peanut butter, garlic and soy sauce creates a sauce for the tofu. Because everyone knows tofu by itself is a big no-no. By the way, I much prefer meat to tofu. But if I have to have tofu, I'll have it served that way.

Thank you, I'm sorry you suffer from that too. It's hard sometimes. :(
