The day following (but not separate from) the feast of Tabernacles.

8[SUP]th[/SUP] day=22nd day of the seventh month is a Sabbath day. Leviticus 23:36b mentions that the “eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein,” and verse 39 says; “Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.”

The 1st Sabbath was first ordained by God for Israel (Exodus 16) on this very same day (the 22nd) in the 2nd month. God also allowed the unclean to observe Passover, and Feast of Unleavened Bread, in the 2nd month, compared to the same dates of the 1st and 7th months.
Talk about the grace of the One and only Almighty God! See 2 Chronicles 30:2-15

Then in Numbers 29:35-40 we see the importance of these observances, not only for Israel, but also for our understanding today.“On the eighth day ye shall have a solemn assembly: ye shall do no servile work therein: But ye shall offer a burnt offering, a sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD: one bullock, one ram, seven lambs of the first year without blemish: Their meat offering and their drink offerings for the bullock, for the ram, and for the lambs, shall be according to their number, after the manner: And one goat for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, and his meat offering, and his drink offering. These things ye shall do unto the LORD in your set feasts, beside your vows, and your freewill offerings, for your burnt offerings, and for your meat offerings, and for your drink offerings, and for your peace offerings. And Moses told the children of Israel according to all that the LORD commanded Moses.” see
Leviticus 16:8-26 for further definitions concerning the sin offering of the goat and what it represents.

Take note that on this eighth day, (the 22nd of the month) that the offering of one bullock, one ram, and seven lambs are the same as in the beginning of the month with the blowing of the trumpets, and Atonement. Throughout the beginning of this month, until the twenty-second day, discussion, and convocation was prevalent within the assembly, and consulting on ecclesiastical affairs from the scribes to the common person was, and is commanded.

It was a time to converse about spiritual matters in the area of God’s will which they had previously experienced, giving hope for the future events of God’s righteous judgment. There is a good parallel in the New Testament truth in Hebrews 13:16-17 where it says “to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.”

This convocation/edification/education (however one cares to define it) should be done and spiritually recognized by the church to this very day by relating the parable of these physical explanations of the feast to the spiritual application in the heart of each individual. It's a time to remember God's grace which increases our faith in Him for the future. This is called "hope" that will never let us down.

Romans 5:1-5 and Romans 8:24
1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
[SUP]2 [/SUP]By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
[SUP]4 [/SUP]And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
[SUP]5 [/SUP]And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

Now the children of Israel were very well informed of God’s care for them in retrospect when Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the judgments after they had arrived at Mount Sinai, and all Israel said they would abide by it. The following day Moses built an altar with twelve pillars representing the twelve tribes, and applied the blood of the sacrifice on the people and the book he had written to confirm the covenant according to Exodus 24:3-8.

The writer of Hebrews 9:19-20 recounts these events saying; “For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.”

This is parallel to the blood of Christ being applied, and our response to the new covenant through Christ Jesus. John the beloved disciple brings this together in the most superb way. John 19:34, and 1 John 5:6-8. “But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. He is the one who came by means of water and blood, Yeshua the Messiah - not with water only, but with the water and the blood. And the Spirit bears witness, because the Spirit is the truth. There are three witnesses the Spirit, the water and the blood - and these three are in agreement.” (CJB)

This is confirmed, being a clear picture of Jesus Christ as the mighty creator of all, being the first-born, and shedding His blood. Blood and water flowed from his side after He was speared to confirm His death. In like manner, this convocation was to recount the reality of the first Passover, the seven days they ate unleavened bread during their escape, and the 47 day journey to Mount Sinai that would later include the spring harvest of firstfruits. Then after the fall harvest, the “Feast of Tabernacles” was to recount the reality of it all according to Exodus 23:14. “Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.”

In relation to the believer’s life today;
The 1[SUP]st[/SUP] is the “Feast of Unleavened Bread” reminding Israel of their escape from bondage, and our escape on the day we were “born again” beginning with Pesach/Passover. Passover (the 15[SUP]th [/SUP] of the 1st month) is the same evening/night that Jesus was buried after being crucified.

The 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] is the “Feast of Weeks” presenting God given “firstfruits” for physical sustenance, and today as spiritual food ending with the Mosaic Law, and the giving of the Holy Spirit on the day of Shavuot/Pentecost.
His Word defines His testament, giving provision for us to be heirs of the inheritance together with His firstborn Jesus Christ, and then we will be able to appear before the LORD, offering to Him the firstfruits of our blessings He has provided for us.

The 3[SUP]rd[/SUP]
is the “Feast of Tabernacles” (the 15h of th 7th month) proposed to educate us, instructing us to stop and meditate on His mercy, truth, and goodness, while we are consuming His Word, and taking into account, and worshiping God as we take in the dynamics of the
previous 2 feasts.

Deuteronomy 16:16-17 and Exodus 23:14 say it this way. “Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the LORD empty: Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee. Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.”

This describes the daily walk of believers in Christ Jesus. I endorse the parable of the talents in Matthew 25:14-30, relating that story to the feasts, showing us our expected response to God.

We can ask ourselves the question; what is the importance of these feasts for the individual believer? Hebrews 1:1-2 mentions the word “sundry” meaning giving, or attributing in many portions, i.e. variously as to time and agency (piecemeal):--at “sundry” times. “God, who at “sundry” times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;”

As Christians, we desire to learn greater, and more profound truths from God’s word. These feasts are given to us as an asset to our spiritual growth according to our individual understanding that is built on faith. One can compare this with the creation sequence, for what was created on a particular day was always dependent on things that were created previously to that given day. In like manner, our depth of spiritual understanding, and knowledge depends on what has been previously established in our hearts, and minds. So by observance of what these feasts represent, and present to us, they can be a dynamic asset for our spiritual growth in Christ Jesus. According to your person, God deals with you as an individual.

Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. Isaiah 28:9

Should we ever be reluctant to learn? We can see this principle of God’s “sundry times” by quoting Isaiah 28:10-13.

“For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing:
yet they would not hear. But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.”

In another thread, the Feast Of Tabernacles has come up and I would like to explore this topic regarding the NT Covenant in Christ. I know others have some knowledge and understanding to share... so I thought we could catalogue it here.
I'm a little late to the thread, but what I've learned about the current day symbolism & application of the Feast of Tabernacles is that it's otherwise knowns as "sukkot". In Hebrew tradition, after the feast they would go out and bring in the harvest, this speaks to me of saving souls (harvesting). To “tabernacle” means 'to commune with God' and it implies a level ofcloseness & intimacy with God. Those who have an intimate relationship with God, who are without pride and dead to self, will be best used in the harvest of souls that is to come. God can use those who are in relationship or 'tabernacling' with Him the most, just as Jesus' disciples were mightily used (they were the ones who communed & tabernacled with Him regularly.

As I have mentioned before, the Feast of Tabernacles is a time for reflection, a time set aside for remembering, reading and discussing for clarity, what Moses had recorded, and what was received on the stone tablets that God gave to him, for Leviticus 23:34b-36 says

“Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD. On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.”

A convocation is a public meeting, also a rehearsal, a calling, reading and defining for the purpose of understanding.

There were several things during the forty years in the wilderness that are compared with Jesus, and one is the water that came from the rock in Numbers 20:8b advising him; “speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.”

In relation to convocation, I believe this principle should give us pause (selah), asking of the Almighty God to give us understand and asking for Him to give us the capability to react righteously according to that understanding of His will. In Exodus 17:6b we read what pre-empted the speaking to the rock was God instructing Moses to “smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.”

This is a parable to know Jesus was smitten for our salvation, and afterwards we are to commune with Him so as to continue receiving the living water. I believe that King David was very well acquainted with the reason for this feast when he says in Psalm 95:1

“
O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.”

During the Feast of Tabernacles, this reality of this "Rock" was obviously remembered and talked about.

In summary, on the 10th day the Lamb is secured in the first month, and atonement begins in the seventh month on the 10th also. On the fifteenth day Jesus finished His mission, and we begin living in spiritual tabernacles, or if you will, living our salvation that is described in James 1:18. “Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures,” as the harvest described in the “Feast of Weeks.”

I will finish by mentioning the significance of the goat for a sin offering in Numbers 29:5 “And one kid of the goats for a sin offering, to make an atonement for you.”

When looking into the spiritual attributes of the female goat, we can liken it today to the church, being of the feminine persuasion. The goat signifies a self-willed carnal nature, being antagonized to the point of destruction, by the sword of the Word, within the ranks of God’s children. This is what a holy convocation is supposed to be, likened unto what should be happening in our churches today.

After it is too late Proverbs 5:4 promises her to be reminded of what could have been, “But her end is *bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword.”

(Hebrews 4:12) “
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh. Isaiah 66:4

Mark 9:43-48
[SUP]43 [/SUP]And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
[SUP]44 [/SUP]Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
[SUP]45 [/SUP]And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
[SUP]46 [/SUP]Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
[SUP]47 [/SUP]And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
[SUP]48 [/SUP]Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

The 8th say that is a Sabbath day, being the 22nd of the 7th month.

Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. Hebrews 4:1

Please comment, or ask questions on any of my post's as you are lead. This is my last post according to the chronology of the Feast of Tabernacles.

just A thought, would these days apply to say the angeles who presented themselves to God,

or maybe also satan, was he required to show up with them and came reluntentley?

what about cain and Able, why in course of time they both brought offerings?

required maybe on those days, but bible not specific

last night while everyone was watching the moon,

the feast of Tabernacles started.
sept. 28-oct 4

last great day-oct. 5

this year 2015, Gods holy convocations fall on the same days of the week

as they where the year 31 ad, when Christ our passover was killed,

and the start of his church on pentacost.

Cain and Abel obviously knew about offerings. Probably because of the covering of skins supplied to Adam and Eve by God Himself.
As far as you first question, are you talking about Satan's conversation with God concerning Job? If so, I think Satan was the leader of the angles that he came with, because God gave him permission to do what he wanted to Job. The only thing God did not allow was for Satan to take away Job's life.

Could be that Pentecost begins on the 15th of the 3rd month. According to chronology ( the best I can calculate) the giving of the law and Pentecost are the same day. I calculated the 12th of the 3rd month for those things, but obviously that is not set in stone. LOL:)

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord,
and Satan came also among them.

Again there was [a day] when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord,
and Satan came also among them to [present himself] before the Lord.

The Angeles presented themselves to God, satan did also.

my question was could these days be one of Gods feast days?

it could be but the bible is not specific i think, just a thought.

Some say the the book of Job is even older that Moses record of the Genesis, but I'm not too sure about that because of Eliphaz. Genesis 36 and 1 Chronicles 1

I finished the reading of Job again about a month ago and it has no specific references concerning the feast days of the first and seventh months that I can remember.

And his sons went and feasted in their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them. Job 1:4

Many things are hard to put together sometimes but then, all of a sudden BAM! You learn something astounding. Like a dove being the same name as Jonah, and Ahasuerus in the book of Esther being the same as Artaxerxes in Ezra.

yes you are right no spefic tie in to what [day angeles presented themselves],

but i think that it could have been a feast day, just not confirmed or said.

this verse is his kids where celeberting [there birthdays]every one his day,

and he gave sacrifices thinking they might have sinned while celebrating.
the bible does not condone birthdays, the day of death was remembered not birth

A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth.

Yes, the Bible doesn't even mention what day Jesus was born. Many think it was in the 7th month during atonement, but if it is not mentioned, it probably isn't that important for our salvation in Christ Jesus.

I never noticed that before... thank you... and thank you again because I have taken a lot of flak over the years for not being very "birthday minded" :(

you're much welcome, also

two birthday celebrations mentioned in the Bible were associated with the death of other men.

Mark 6:21-27, Genesis 40:20-22

also

Job 3:3
Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said,
There is a man child conceived.

Jeremiah 20:14
Cursed be the day wherein I was born:
let not the day wherein my mother bare me be blessed.

the fact that there are no examples in the Bible whatsoever of any true Christian having participated
in a celebration of his or her own birthday. Jesus Himself never observed the anniversary of His birth
in any fashion. Focusing on the birth of Christ takes our minds off His death as our Passover

—His ultimate sacrifice for us as our personal Savior.
Why would we think that our birth is of greater importance?

The date on which we happen to be born is not as important to God.
He is far more concerned with the development of our individual spiritual character toward
eventual birth into His Kingdom (Ecclesiastes 7:1; Revelation 21:7; John 12:24-25).

If we repent, turn to God’s true way, receive His Spirit and perhaps die before Christ’s return,
wouldn’t the day of our death be much more meaningful than the day of our birth?

Nice. I appreciate those identifications. It can motivate a person's curiosity. Times a seasons are very important because God appointed them.
