October 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] 2015
Fourth day of the week is the 19[SUP]th[/SUP] being the 5th day of the feast.
The sun is created to rule the day, and the moon and stars are created to rule the night so that there is greater, and lesser light to keep mankind from total darkness. It is interesting that the earth circles the sun once a year, the moon circles the earth about 12 times (close to 13 times) a year with exceptions of seasons and times, yet is constant according to the original creation cycle. The greater light is stationary, and the lesser light reflects God’s governmental perfection. All things created were now in place to sustain the living creatures that were to fill the earth.
Faith can be increased according to the experiences in this circle of time God provides. As we live, remembering His faithfulness in our past, we become more confident of the provisions He will provide for our future. This is rightly defined in 2 Corinthians 10:15a as we read “Not boasting of things without our measure, that is, of other men's labours; but having hope, when your faith is increased.” Jesus is the greater light, and we are Son worshippers not sun worshippers as in some pagan religions.
Ezekiel 8:16 defines the pagan practice of sun worship.“And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD'S house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.”
His words tell us of the proper Son to worship in John 8:12 when He says, “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
The world was made to revolve around Christ Jesus, as the greater light, just like the earth revolves around the sun. As followers of the Son we are to reflect the greater light of truth in like manner as the moon, being the lesser light that reflects the greater light of the sun. These are the physical aspects of creation that are useful to us as a parable for spiritual perception.
And Jesus said in John 3:12; “If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?”
Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:14-16 describes this reflection of light very well. “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
5[SUP]th[/SUP] day=19[SUP]th[/SUP] of the month: Numbers 29:26 (KJV)
“And on the fifth day nine bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year without spot:
According to the number of bullocks, it’s amazing that Paul lists 9 characteristics of the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.”
The number 5 (the day of the feast as it progresses) represents grace, God’s goodness, and Torah instructions.
The 5[SUP]th[/SUP]letter means reaching out to obtain revelations, and instruction from God.
The number 9 (quantity of bullocks) represents the “fruit of the Spirit,” and the divine completeness from the Father.
The 9[SUP]th[/SUP] letter means to hold and carry what has been given. The “fruit of the Spirit” is singular, and we hold it, carry it, and walk with it every day.
The number 19 (day of the month) represents faith.
The 19[SUP]th[/SUP] letter means the time sequence given for us to believe the truth. This is our day, and our time “For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” 2 Corinthians 6:2
Faith is a gift of the Spirit. It is increased as we travel in the experiences given to test us.
2 Corinthians 10:15 tells us not to boast “of things without our measure, that is, of other men's labours; but having hope, when your faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule abundantly.”
Scripture says that God tests us in Deuteronomy 13:1-3 “If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.”
God given experiences not only give us better understanding of our Lord, and ourselves, they increase our faith in God when looking at those situations in retrospect.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:6
