I just remembered why I don't look at holiday catalogs anymore. They're worse than Target in their evil tactics

Why yes, I DO need decorative dishwasher magnets.

And the snowman shower curtain for Christmas/winter. I need that, too.

And the personalized tapestry throw. Actually that might be a good Christmas gift idea for my stepmom and my dad.
Gourmet Hot Beverage Complements? How do they know me so well?

I'm gonna have to pull the plug for myself. xD No worries, I haven't bought anything....YET!!! Actually I probably won't. But I love window shopping too much. And then sometimes window shopping turns into...not window shopping.

so starting on oct 1st, diagnosis codes are changing from ICD-9 to ICD-10, which of course is NOT fun at all. anywho, boss told me about some weird ones that are out there now, so i did a google search of crazy ICD-10 diagnosis codes.

i've been laughing for about 20 mins.

example: struck by a turtle.

(it's funny to me. probably not for others. sorry)

Is the turtle driving a car? Falling from a great height? Why is this a code? How can it be something that happens more than one time?

Where is a medical person or a statistical analyst who can give me this answer?

I've looked those up before (not sure if it was ICD 8, 9, 10, whatever) but I find them hilarious.

i don't even know. it's getting quite ridiculous. i was reading comments on one of the websites, and someone said it's just another way for companies to reject claims.

other ones i read:
[h=4]V97.33XD: Sucked into jet engine, subsequent encounter.
Y93.D: Activities involved arts and handcrafts.
W61.62XD: Struck by duck, subsequent encounter.
R46.1: Bizarre personal appearance.[/h]

I can see 'struck by duck', because well... naturally occurring flying fowl. If one is on a bike, running, on a motorcycle, waterskiing.... sure I can see that it might happen, probably less that 100 times a year, and not likely to need a code. But a TURTLE?? Are there launching, jumping, or flying turtles I am unaware of? If so, I need video, please.

Arts and crafts can be dangerous - sharp blades and glue. If you work at an airport or are in the military, I can see the jet engine as well. Still struggling with the turtle.

Somebody help this poor lady. She's really hung up on the turtle.

about the turtle, i told boss, "maybe someone is scuba diving, and they don't see mr. turtle, and mr. turtle doesn't see him/her? and they run into each other?"

Boss, who is a physician (?), says "I've got more important stuff to do than discuss turtle-induced catastrophes".
