You must have me confused with those who have not the love of God dwelling in their hearts, they have fear. But perfect love casts out fear. :)

1 John 2:5
But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Perfect love... Right. You can't even answer a simple yes or no question for a brother in Christ. Some love.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Obviously, you're someone limited to repeating what others tell him. The Greek saws "sin is lawlessness", not "sin is transgression of the law". Here's what it really says:

Everyone doing sin also does lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. 1 John 3:4​

And you suggesting I have a mental disorder (post #79) is showing you are truly "in Christ" and showing the love of God in you? LOL Hateful words and attitudes speak volumes to me as well when it comes to those who proclaim to be "in Christ'.

I quote scripture and you try to deny it, and you then try to twist it's meaning as if transgressing God's law is not sin somehow? What do you think lawlessness is? LOL!

Daniel considered transgressing the law a sin, just as not obeying Gods voice (commands) is a sin as well.

Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him."

Well, if you don't believe sin is the transgression of the law, then perhaps you'll believe this...

1 John 5:17 All unrighteousness is sin:.....

Now, are you going to tell me that Gods law is not righteous as well? LOL :)

It just proves they are unable to bridle their tongues from speaking hateful words, as you know first hand as well. This is not of God's Spirit.

But the bible commands us to bless those who persecute us. Jesus himself said these words....at least to pray for them....same thing really.

We who believe in Him all aspire to do what He has taught and teaches. That is sound advice, Amen brother Jack.

Do what Jesus did?
We cannot raise the dead,walk on water, turn water into wine, be a propitiation for our own sins and the sins of others. We can not do many of the things that only Jesus could. Praise,glory and honor be to Him who saves sinners like us. :)

Lawlessness has always been the same from Adam until now: not having faith in GOD and not loving one's neighbor.

And in simple English this means, if one breaks the law, they have sinned.

The OP is on the fact that we should try to be like Jesus, which I agree with.

Now I know we're not perfect, but that should not keep us from striving to be.

That's why Jesus died, so we can obtain that grace and mercy when we fall.

This does not mean He died so we can be intentionally disobedient and then use Him as a get out of jail card.
 
Romans 6:14

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Personally, I think Ben had a point. You push the envelope, place the bull's eye on you on multiple posts, just about clogging up the board with them, and then act like you have no idea why everyone is up in arms. Don't play the victim.

(I'm not a victim either.)
 
All you need do is try your best while always confessing your faults to the Father. He forgives us. As long as we truly desire to please Him it is like when the publican prayed asking God to have mercy on him, a sinner. He went home justified while the Pharisee wh thought himself fine and dandy did not. You remember, right?

We must attempt to be perfect for one day we will be perfect. God says so, You will be perfect for I am perfect. This is not a command, it is a promise............just try, and you ae beloved of the Father, and dof the family, and that includes me I believe. Praise God. Obey Him...........amen
