If you see a person napping please don't assume they are tired instead find a frying pan and a wooden spoon and start making noise when they wake up say I'm sorry I didn't know you were sleeping. Okay now that's just not very nice but it is kinda funny.:p

Well, I can only think of one presently... I don't like it when ladies assume that I am interested in them romantically just because I smile and say hello, introduce myself, treat them with kindness, hold doors, listen attentively, offer a compliment, or joke with them. Is being a gentleman (or, in my case, aspiring to be one) so rare?
sounded like more than one.:p :D :)

Do not assume I am for you or against you. I am for truth in Christ.

Do not assume my laughter is anything but laughter. I laugh easily, and I laugh because we all have things in common that are funny. I laugh because God has put me in a funny world and I fit right in.

Do not assume because I am angry at something that I am hurting or mentally ill. Nope. I'm angry at something. (Usually injustice or hypocrisy. Sometimes what I can't do because I can't sleep.)

Do not assume because I'm angry I will take it out on you. (Do not assume I won't, but call me on it and I will stop.)

Do not assume that because I take drugs I must be mentally ill, unless you think high triglycerides, insomnia, and chronic pain is mentally ill, in which case, that's your problem, not mine.

Do not assume I'm perfect, but feel free to assume I know you're not either. lol

Do not assume you get an easy-breezy life if you're a believer and do everything just right. Read the Bible more often and notice those stories. That's what life in Christ is like.

DO NOT ASSUME I WILL SIT QUIETLY FOREVER! "Quietly" and "patience" aren't well developed in me.

well, here is a couple

do not assume that when you hear a southern accent that the person is an ignorant redneck.

do not assume that everyone standing behind a pulpit is honest and truthful

do not assume that that no one has an agenda. because some people do.
And don't assume rednecks are ignorant. (Some of the wisest people I know are rednecks. lol)

Yes, it is. So maybe they're hoping instead of assuming. lol

1. Don't assume that people who aren't bookworms aren't intelligent.
2. Don't assume that just because someone types in ''text speak", that they also aren't intelligent lol
3. Don't assume that those who don't bring religion into everything, because they can relax and have fun, aren't devoted to following God.
4. Don't assume that those who are depressed can't smile, laugh, and enjoy themselves too.
5. Don't assume that all M&Ms taste the same when clearly yellow is the best. :p
I will accept you're advice about text speak only if you don't assume I understand text speak. I have no idea how to text something. If you put a gun to my head, and stuck a cell phone in my face to order me to text something, might as well pull the trigger, because I really, honestly can't. lol

(And you're wrong about the last one, but we already have a deal -- I give you my yellow for your blues. So, we're good. lol)

Here's a few that I commonly experience:
Don't assume that, because I have an eccentric look, I'm brimming with self-confidence.
Don't assume that, because I'm not smiling it means I'm sad ALL the time.
Also, don't assume that, because I'm quiet it means that I'm sad.
Don't assume that because I'm young I don't know what certain things are. I've actually been told I'm too young to know what a cassette tape is, or a road map. Once at work Unchained Melody was playing and I was humming along; lady walks around the corner and tells me I'm too young to know this song. First of all, Unchained Melody is a timeless classic. Second, how young do people think I am??!
Don't assume that because I'm super girly and I enjoy wearing makeup often and dressing up all fancy it means that I'm high maintenance and don't enjoy things like hiking and camping. Most of my shopping is done at thrift stores. And I love camping. I mean real, sleep in a tent, pee in the bushes, catch and cook your own food kind of camping.
;)

Haha deal! I'm usually behind on all of the texting acronyms myself, but I try to keep up(If I don't, my younger brother lets me know how ''uncool'' I am). :p

Don't assume because I'm intelligent and educated that I know everything about everything!
Don't assume because I'm outgoing and gregarious that I have a lot of friends. I don't.
Don't assume because I'm discerning that I'm judgmental. There is a difference.
Don't assume because I love my dog that I want to see every cute picture of every cute dog out there. :)

This is true. I'm decent at baking, but don't ask me to cook anything without very, very specific instructions and a how-to video. And no, I have never made Mac & Cheese successfully lol.

This one has bothered me, my entire life. People assume because I am kind, care about others, sweet, and never got into a huge amount of trouble that I am innocent and could never do anything wrong which I most definitely have.

This goes along the same lines as the first, but guys assume that I am too good for them and they cut things off before they even get a chance to get anywhere, but on the other hand I have been told I would never be good enough and that hurts equally in both assumptions.
That's the kind of girl guys want to marry.
If you are like the way you described I think you are sparkling.

Oh, now THIS is my kinda thread. (cracks knuckles) Lemme see if I can let loose here.....

1.) Do not assume that because I am smaller than you, that I am WEAK. (I tend to lift things that some people that are younger and with more muscle on their bones can't even hold for a few seconds......and sometimes, with one arm!)

2.) Do not assume that also, if I am shorter, that I will always need help.

3.) Do not assume that if you suck up to me, that you'll be able to suck up to the boss, or I'll suck up to him for you. I'm willing to give many chances to other co-workers to show how well they do. (My bosses like me, but I don't know why. Although, I do have my own....assumptions.)

4.) Do not assume that just because I don't know much about one or two things, that I know NOTHING at all. Some people know some things that others do not. Everyone has their areas of expertise, whatever it may be.

5.) Do not assume that because I'm shorter than you, means that I'm YOUNGER than you.

6.) Do not assume that because my face looks the way it does, would mean that I am actually emoting in that way. My face could just be relaxed. Like for say, if I'm not smiling, that doesn't mean I'm sad. Could you actually stand seeing EVERY SINGLE PERSON ON THIS PLANET with a big grin on their face? Thaaaaaat'd be kinda creepy. And you wouldn't know what they were actually thinking....there's so much I could elaborate on this.

7.) Just because things go well on ONE day, doesn't mean it will ALWAYS go well everyday. There will be good days, great days, excellent days, lame days, bad days, and horrible days. Life has a plethora of unexpected curve balls, sliders, knuckle balls, etc. Don't expect to get the same pitch every time.(Can't believe I actually have to put this here. There's someone I know who doesn't get this.)

8.) Just because my race/gender is ________ doesn't mean I automatically like ________ or dislike _________.

Let me give this a go:

1. Don't assume just because I read/study other Bible translations besides the KJV that I'm on my way to hell.
2. Don't assume I don't love the Lord due to the fact I don't make it to church service every single Sunday.
3. Don't assume I'm not a true Christian just because I drink sometimes.
4. Don't assume I'm blaspheming because I think God has a sense of humor.
5. Don't assume my disability means that I'm completely helpless.
6. Don't assume that just because I open a door for a woman I think she's incapable of doing it herself.
7. Don't assume that because I like certain movies that happen to have some profanity in them that I am sinning by watching them. (Caveat is that the profanity can't be gratuitous.)
8. Don't assume that because I say a woman is pretty and/or beautiful that I am interested in her sexually.
9. Don't assume I am a wuss because I like creamer in my coffee.
10. Don't assume that because I'm a guy I don't know how a heartache feels.
