Well, as for me...I'm kind of baffled to learn how much of a hornets nest this is...I was just expressing my thoughts on how to reach out for people in the need of the good Lord...not exactly something calling for a nazi flag...bless your heart, btw, but thats just my opinion. None of us is for denying gays the Gospel. What is going on here are the enemies of the Gospel pushing their agenda.
The theological liberals are behind this push and they also are the ones denying gays the Gospel by presenting a different Jesus and a different gospel. They have taken away the keys to eternal life and in it's place offered a feminized, non Deity, anything goes Jesus...even denying sin and the vicarious atonement of Christ. No one gets saved under their feel good gospel.

Now that you're informed on that side of the issue you see why people interpret the flag as something more than just an invitation.
I am perplexed at how certain fellow believers in God's grace responded to my replies that showed no condemnation and some how read a turning away of homosexuals. It doesn't even make sense because no one even hinted at such an idea. I think some of you guys are so fed up with Christians who condemn homosexuals to the degree they push them away from Christ that you just assumed that was the angle being taken here. By no means! Christ died for them, and who are we to deny them His sacrifice?
We were just specifically addressing the approval of a lifestyle through the association of a flag that carries meaning and certain values behind it. We weren't condemning the homosexual community but addressing the churches who put up rainbow flags in support of the LGBT community or to welcome them in. The welcoming is perfectly fine and is welcomed. The churches twisting God's word to be pro-gay relationships and to have same sex relations on the other hand, is not so much welcomed. It is the equivalent of holding a drunken orgy for support of drunkenness and promiscuity. That is an extreme example, but it paints clearly the point.
In Canada, besides the Unitarians who really don't count, we have the United Church of Canada, which not only hangs gay flags outside their churches, but across the back of the podium so that is what you see when you look to the front. A good portion of their ministers are gay, married and living the lifestyle.
I have quite a few friends in this church and attended it for quite a few years growing up. It is totally apostate. If Jesus is mentioned he is just a good example. They do not preach sin, salvation by faith, or salvation at all.
And to say they are welcoming and inclusive is a total lie. Back in the 1990's, when the church leaders voted in favour of ordaining homosexuals, there were still many conservatives in the church including whole congregations.
They drove out the conservatives, and in quite a few places actually stole their historic church buildings. The members had to meet in schools and halls, while the building lay empty, because it did not have any members, and was owned by the denomination, not the congregation.
I also know some people that were terribly hurt in that ousting of anyone who believed in Jesus or the Bible. So much for "tolerance."
I firmly believe that these churches that welcome gays are apostate. I will bet you cannot find a single one that has Christ following, Bible believing Christians.
There is no doubt to me that the LGTB movement has an agenda. The trans movement is a big thing now. To the point of nausea. Grey's Anatomy opened this year with a show on two homosexual 13 year old girls, one an Arab, who were commiting suicide so they could be together. Someone punched the Christian mother in the face who was trying to straighten her daughter up, and everyone high-fived the punch! That is condoning violence against straights!
Then there was Law and Order SVU, with an highly improbable show about a 16 year old boy dressed in drag, who was accidently pushed off a bridge, eventually dying, and the life of a poor little 15 year old black kid was ruined - tried as an adult and sent to jail for 7 years. Even the parents of the trans boy asked for leniency, and the judge said we have to send a message that hate crimes are not right. The ironical thing was - the boy was wearing a long skirt and high heels. I think back to being a 16 year old girls, and I cannot remember a time when I wore a long flimsy skirt with platform shoes to school. That was how he tripped. Oh yes, I won't be watching those two shows again!

Do any of you that are defending this nonsense ...really think a gay person is going into these churches and hearing the true gospel or meeting the True Holy One???? Do you really think they will find deliverance or healing by the Power of God, in these phoney churches? Look ,these people need to hear the truth... "the wages of sin is death" God wants to deliver you from sins power through faith in Jesus Christ and the POWER of the Holy Spirit.

I guess I got so disgusted with the general bashing on here of just about anyone who doesn't fit the mold of a "proper" Christian (Actually, I think this particular forum used the term "real" Christian.) that I swung without really looking to see who was posting.

Keep on preaching about Jesus and His grace, I know you are just concerned for those that might feel condemned by the church when God loves them. You want them to know God is with open arms, and wanting reconciliation and that was done by Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the cross of Calvary. Keep showing them love, keep showing them Jesus. Remember, we are an extension of Christ to the world.

You know, I really don't hate gays at all. I know gay people, trans people. I go out of my way to be nice to them, for the purpose and hope that one day I will be able to share all that Jesus Christ has done in my life and how he can change their hearts and lives.
What really bugs me is the lobbyists, the entire plot to make everyone believe that homosexual sin is not wrong. And that Christians are the intolerant ones.
So not individuals, but rather the entire bloc of them, pushing their agenda, not just on me, but on everyone, including children!

imo. I find it hard to believe that gays do not know what the Lord said about there life style. To enter a church for the sake of let's say worship and just avoiding the issue of there lifestyle wouldn't it be like tempting God?
I sometimes hold my wife's hand in church , or put my arm around her on occasion, what would happen if a gay couple did the same thing? In your fellowship?
Ya see it's not all cut and dry. Do we post please no signs of affection during service. when the public schools embraced the gay and transsexual communities I formed a letter to the schools here to ask for co-ed showers and restrooms to see the response......as you can imagine out rage....then I heard on the news accommodation was being made to the schools for these type of people.
My point is its a much deeper problem than a yea or nay deal.
