Gal 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
The discussion appears to be simple. Should we obey Jesus's commands as disciples?
The answer is yes, He commanded us to. It is sin to disobey Jesus.
If you disobey Jesus you are in sin. It was this very obedience that the apostles said confirmed their salvation and reality.
Paul described this as being free from sin and a slave to righteousness.
It is impossible to love unless God has placed that love in your heart.
So without being born again, you cannot obey Jesus. You cannot be born again without believing in Him.
So the question then comes why are people saying you do not have to obey, sinning, and still claiming they are born again?
Because love has not yet taken hold in their hearts. If it had they would not speak like this, because their hearts would have confirmed the very reality I am speaking.
Love is pre-eminent. I am just sharing scripture and what it teaches and what my heart testifies to.
Too many times I have heard people preach other gospels so I know this is the real thing because this is what the apostles preached and experienced.

Malachi was the last book written in the Old Testament. Malachi reminded the people that they were making a halfhearted attempt at keeping God's law.
i want to go home, no more tears, no more pain, no more lawlessness, just perfect peace, everyone living in harmony, honoring our Creator. But since He is being so patient waiting for us to get it together, i'll just keep waiting for His return. And will try and keep my hands out of the cookie jar, because i know He is watching.

Sadly. True worship is giving it all to God. Not a worship which tells God I am worthy of your love, even though I can not live up to your standard.
Worshiping God is loving others. Not puffing up self and all my good works.
It would be good for you to either rethink this, or reword it better. GOD does require us to obey his voice.

True, we should not be puffed up in works but in faith we should trust the Word of God and keep to His guidelines...

find what verse? I still am tryig to figure out how you got what I said meant we were saved by following law. So again, what are you talking about? ie..you misinterpreted what I said, would you like to try again?

What is so hard about it.
If I have to be obedient to be saved
If I have to be obedient to maintain my salvation
If I have to be obedient or I will lose my salvation.
I am saved by my obedience (works) not my faith, and thus I am a legalist.
Now. If I AM obedient, Because I have faith in God, He saved e, And he empowered me to sanctify me. We are talking about a different thing altogether.
As Jesus said, If you love me, keep my commands (we love because he first loved us)
He also said those who obey him have eternal life. We obey because we are saved, adopted and made his children..
Faith and love are obedience, so I think it misrepresents the issue to say obedience is not required. Saying no obedience is required will certainly cause those disposed to keeping laws to stumble. It would be better to define what obedience actually is than to say none is required.

I disagree, when you say it is required, you are placing a person under law.
when you say it is of faith and love, A person willingly wants to obey, and learn, Because he has an abba father not a dictator.
Again............to remind all. Remember the worthless servant who buried the talent of gold until the Master returned. So it is with grace only folks. Gold is faith; if we do nothing with the faith given us, it is not acceptable by our Master.

I am sure that I can beat you at being BAD
... we all fail friend but sometimes we focus so much on our differences that we forget there are certain points where we will agree on.
But faith and love are a commandment. Commandments require obedience. It's an easy yoke, but it's still a yoke. We are under law; it's just not the law of Moses. It's the law of the spirit of life in Christ.
And this is his commandment: that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he commanded us. And the one who keeps his commandments resides in him, and he in him. And by this we know that he resides in us: by the Spirit whom he has given to us. 1 John 3:23-24

Faith works, There is no such things as grace apart from faith. The one who hid his talent was shown grace, but he had no faith, only fear. Thats why he hid it.
