For years I was a homosexual atheist but eight months ago my best friend finally got me to go to church with here and I was moved by GOD to change now I have completley renounced homosexuality!!!

Welcome to the family of God Chris. Now that you have renounced Satan, he is going to throw every trap he can to cause you to return to that way of life. Brother don't think for one moment that you are able to relax and the battle of temptations are over...God loves you and want you to be successful through His Holy Spirit so He ask us to pray without ceasing because the devil your adversary is seeking to steal, kill, and destroy your relationship with your Redeeming Savior.
This is the time of fervent prayer to ask God for a double portion of His strength to keep believing in Him and live the life God has called on you to live. Satan is going to try and discredit you and tell you that you can't be a child of God because of your past, but don't believe Him. We have all sinned and come short of God's glory. God calls all to repent and wear His robe of righteousness in which He died to save all if all desire to be saved. He is no respecter of persons. So no one, I mean no one on this site is better than you. We all struggle daily with temptations and sins.
Everything of God's power, merciful grace is at your disposal. He will never leave you or forsake you. Just whisper a prayer and continue studying His Word.
Make His Word your first prayerful duty in the morning before you start your day and at the end of your day.
A really awesome book to read along with all the other books of the Bible is the Psalms in the Bible written by King David. This book will help you in praises and help you in crying out to God during your struggles. The books of Proverbs/ Ecclesiastes gives awesome wisdom for all of humanity was written by King Solomon which is a result of his struggles and praises to God.
God's promises are our insurance policy and He will never cancel it.
May you be eternally blessed by your Heavenly Father who loves you and gave His life for you that you may experience an abundant life here on earth and in heaven when He comes for His saints in the Second Coming. We serve a Living God who understands our struggles.

I commend you for decision to renounce homosexuality. Personally I believe no one can ever be fully "cured" of homosexuality (mentally and physically). We can however do our best to not give in to our feelings. Remember, being gay in itself isn't sinful, but acting on your urges is. Jesus Christ has come to help us in our struggle, and to forgive us when when we have sinned . That's the real "cure" that doctor Jesus offers to ALL sinners. (Mark 2:17)
I would agree with this, to the extent of never living without temptation to sin. But the cure doesnt come from losing the temptation, but from having the desire to be with God overcoming it, to the point that when it comes into your head, you can shrug it off and say "nah"
Everyone is tempted, with sexual immorality, vanity, greed, gluttony, envy, pride, and all other things God hates. Its a part of this life we all deal with, but with God, they can all be overcome :3

Oh hun....with God ALL things are possible. It just sometimes takes us so long before we realize the truth of this...and yes....many of us learn this very very slowly. In the meantime, when we sin, we have a savior who is faithful and just to forgive us! Don't ever forget that...and keep learning and growing in the faith, love, and knowledge of Jeus!

It is not easy brother. I too am gay. I am free from my addiction to porn. I haven't been with a man years...but I still sinned in my mind. 6 months ago I was saved and my life has never been the same. Funny thing fighting sin is a constant battle and when I would slip I could not look up because I was riddled with guilt. I have been convicted by the Holy Spirit and I ask forgiveness and learn from. Stay away from temptation. Don't allow those thoughts.
