I don't need to prove you wrong. You already have proven yourself wrong.
I am tempted to go so far as to say that fixation on law is proof of not walking by faith. It is anti-faith.

Because we are trying hard to figure out what "works" you all are referring to. No one here is a Jew, so its not law.
Try this then...
Galatians 2:16, 19-21 (KJV)
16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
Don't ask us who understand we are saved by faith; ask, as Crossnote said, those who are fixated on the law.

I only see fixation coming from those who reject parts of God's word because at this point, that's all that is being debated.
It has nothing to do with what you are calling works. I haven't seen one single person tell anyone to work for salvation...
How many times must this be repeated?
The conversation was going so nicely and was so edifying until these arguments came (back) in. It's like the flow of a river being disrupted by unnecessary stones being cast in.
For a brief few moments the word was being completely focused on and that was wonderful.
How sad that opinions for some who wish to overrule disrupted that flow.

Until the ones who state salvation can be lost repent and admit salvation is by Christ alone, through the cross alone, and via the power of God alone (if it is God who saves us, gives us the power to be sanctified, and grows us, then it is Gods power to keep us and not let us slip away)
because until then, there will always be those of us who will show them how what they say does not match up with what they preach.

titus 3: 5 - Not by works of righteousness which we have done (which would include all works, not just works of the law) but BY HIS MERCY, HE SAVED US..by the washing and renewal of the HS
ie, not by our works, but by His work.
I think everyone who has contributed to this thread knows that we are saved by God's grace and the gift of faith alone. I challenge anyone who disagrees with this truth to come out and show yourselves. We are to contend for the faith. Amen? Who agrees with this? Who disagrees with this? Quote me and say it clearly.

As much as some seem to love debating non-existent arguments I'd much rather focus on the word.
I was well reminded of this today before the the waters were kicked up and made murky by opinions outside of God's word.
Sometimes opinions are a whole lot like working for salvation. They cancel out the truth, and that's sad for those who want to really seek the Lord through complete faith that what He said is true.
Law is Law whether given to Moses or our conscience. Please read Romans chaps 1 thru 3 and you will see both Jews and Gentiles are shut up under guilt under the law. But like I say, feel free to stay in that prison if you wish.
