I think as humans there are some books in the Bible that kind of make us say, well I don't completely understand this or even reading this is like reading the instruction manual of a piece of IKEA furniture. It helps to admit to, hey I don't get this. It will help to get another perspective on it and you learn more.

That's why it's important to ask God to reveal His Spirit inside us each and every time before we sit and read His word.

Sorry. My wife keeps telling me not to do that to people... often they don't catch it. (Google Hezekiah 3:16)

Great article!!

I have to admit, I did a double-take upon seeing this and started trying to recite the books of the Bible just to check...

Hezekiah always stands out in my mind as a prominent figure because he pleaded with God during a terminal illness... and God granted him 15 more years... and so I had to stop and think, "Wait, does he have his own book, too??? It's been a while since I checked all the books of the Bible..."

Lamentations. People so hungry they would cook and eat their own children? Never! I'd die. To me there is no greater evil.

"Blessed is he who has not even been born to see the evil that is done under the sun."

I'm with you. It took me forever to read Numbers. I even thought of skipping it and reading it after Revelation. Lol.

Also, Ecclesiastes. Well, it's not really my least favorite, it just makes me sad every time I read it. I mean, if I put myself in the time when it was written, before Jesus Christ came, I would've been suicidal (if I had Solomon's wisdom but not his fear of the Lord).
