The letter J did not exist till the late 1600's. And the letter J does not exist in the Hebrews dictionary. So there is no way his name is Jesus. So why do so many people call on a false name and be baptized in Jesus if that's not his name? Do you see the deception?

The Name of Jesus Christ -- Eashoa' M'sheekha

That's in ancient Aramaic.

Hi RuaTruth,

Jesus is just the transliteration from the Hebrew Yehoshua"/Jehoshua, contracted to "Joshua"), where the Greek is Iesous. Therefore, there really is no deception, for whether Hebrew, Greek, English or any other language, it is the One who paid the penalty for our sins.

It mustn't be that false of name. Because when I asked Jesus to save me, He did. And He still continues to answer to that name whenever I pray or call on Him.

I believe that Christ is the Messiah and that he died for the remission of sins and he rose from the dead. However many Babylonian, Greek, and Romans had the Sun God (not the Son of God) who they claimed did the same. We just have to be careful and seek who we are worshipping and make sure its the God from the Bible and not the pagan Gods.

I had no idea the letter "J" was so nefarious.

I'll have to get rid of all the J's on everything I own.
Oh, and if you're trying to get to my house, for the b-day party....
just look for the "eep" parked out front.

I smoked a "J" on the way home from work.

Well, I thought I did. Maybe it was "Q"; now I'm not sure.

The Hebrews names meant what there purpose in life was. Yehosua is Joshua in English. Yashaya is the hebrew word meaning savior. Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall SAVE his people from their sins.

This sounds like Da Vinci Code nonsense. The letter J, used to be the letter i in the 6th century. While the letter J does not exist in the Hebrew dictionary, there is nothing wrong with it being used. His name is Jesus, The Greek is Iesous or a variant of that name, the transliteration from the Greek is Jesus. Jesus is his name transliterated from the Greek. It is not a false name and God is not going to strike someone down who calls on this name and is baptized in this name. There is no deception. Here is a link sadly showing that you are deceived: Origin of the Names Jesus and Christ in English?. God bless. Have a beautiful day! :)

Rev 6:12-13
"And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
and lo, the letter "J" rose up from the bottomless pit to bring great tribulation and woe upon the earth."

That's just from memory, but I think that's it.

I've read the comparisons, they're generally very different. And where there are similarities those beliefs came at least several hundred years AFTER Jesus walked the earth as a man. Not to mention, I've never heard of a pagan god that died for the remission of sin and rose from the dead. That's unique to Christianity.

Right, and even within a given language, language is fluid/dynamic, not sterile. Some languages have been lost and many more have been created. From the time of the dispersal at the tower of Babel (where there were very few languages) to now (where there are over several thousand languages) human language has evolved tremendously.

How do you get Joshua, if J can't be used?

I agree names arnt meant to be translated or transliterated or the meaning is changed. He spoke the world into existance, words are everythings how much more important is His name if there is power in it? I speculate the bible has many gods assumed under the guise of one b/c of our loads of denominations. Anytime someone says my lord and savior will send to hell for eternity the wicked or allowed me to see my dead relative, had seth and cain mate with their sisters...im like thats not my god. Who are they worshipping? That is not His nature, alot is taught against His actual character due to the diluted aremaic/judeo culture. For example i learned cross was transliterated for tree trunk which changes everything because the cross then isnt a symbol of atonement for us believers but of human sacrifice to other gods. Also why do ppl wear crusifixes anyway...i say also thats not my god. We will nvr fully kno who He is but I sure kno who Hes not. What confuses me tho is how faith works in everyones favor. Although a house divided cannot stand many demons fear jesus, are taken out by shamans of other religions and miracles occure on their behalf also. Does this mean all miracles do work by faith alone and dont discriminate? Is it the law of attraction at work....or is it a hoax of the Angel of light to trick us? Thats the most troubling aspect.
