Do you defend the right to hunt if it's done mainly to get a trophy animal head for the wall, or a bear skin rug? Or if it's done for the elephant ivory and whale or seal blubber? I would think you'd defend hunting if it's done for food, and not to say "look at all my animal trophies." :/

no one has to defend the right to hunt...it's not even really a right where I am coming from...it's ok...but killing for fun is not ok...not at all...and government sanctionned kills are as bad as abortion because it is the same mentality...you can just flip the thing...same burger...same awful taste

I eat meat...I enjoy it...and I buy it at a nice clean grocer...but, if I had to, I would kill to eat..but not enjoy it at all

I hope you understand the difference...and you just maybe should go back and read the posts cause they are not saying what colt is saying and not saying what you seem to be trying to defend

Sure..I don't eat meat much anymore..but I do like a juicy hamburger from time to time.. :)

Sure! why should he not be able to do what men have been doing for thousands of years? Why should he have to give up his rights as has been understood from the beginning of our nation, because some folks don't like or understand it? Are people not allowed to catch a big fish either?

This is America...you have the right to eat as much dead cow as you want... that's what makes America great..because we all have freedom and don't have the government trying to tell us what to do ...well until recently
 
Men like guns, fast and shinny cars too etc.... they like a lot of things women and sissy boys don't understand.

There's nothing to understand about trophy hunting, except that it's done ONLY to show off to people how many animals they've killed for no reason other than to brag and boast. He doesn't have to give up his rights, but he SHOULD hunt for the purpose of hunting, which mainly is FOR FOOD, not an animal head on his wall.

That would be like me coming to your house and shooting your dog just for fun. And then tell you that I'm gonna skin his hide to make a shag rug for my wooden floor. Do ya see where I'm going with this?

Hey now, I like fast shiny cars. I miss the days when I was 20-something and went cruising around with my friends all the time.. :(

So when did showing off become illegal? We have a "right" to show off... are you going to outlaw all showing off? how about catching big fish...you want to outlaw that too?

and I live with 4 wolfdogs that would make some men forget how brave they are

I also love horses and have got on board a few that many men would really hesitate to put a leg over...with English tack by the way, none of that Western hold onto the horn stuff

I also am not afraid of guns...my dad always had them around (seeing as he was a law officer) and I do good at a shooting range

I like a good 4 wheel drive vehicle for off road and enjoy the wild...I'm not a city girl

and I don't look like a boy

so whatever

Well im sure somebody somewhere would not like something you do or have and think it should be illegal... that's the problem when folks think they have the right to take other people rights away... The right to hunt is basic to our society and history..its part of our culture and no one had the right to take it away in my view.

Well, some people kill other people just to show off to their friends, and brag that they killed someone.. In fact alot of people who kill, brag about it like it's something to be proud of. :/ Would YOU trophy kill another person? NO.. So why should it be the same with innocent animals, killing them just to get your jollies.
 
As far as I care, if you can catch a huge fish ten times bigger than you, more power to ya!! :) BUT that shouldn't apply to killing innocent animals primarily for kicks.

You should be able to see the difference ..I think part of my issue is that some seem to equate animals and humans...which is just silly to me and cannot be justified in a honest discussion.

I see your case has crumpled...well it really was no case anyway

so your gripe is somebody somewhere does not like something you do or think you have the right to do?

who lives like that?

culture smulture...people are used to what they grew up with...most people don't think for themself..which brings us back to the beginning and I'm getting a tad bored

Its a recognized sport in our society..its a tradition of our... my culture ...you say its for kicks some say its for sport...You want to take peoples freedom away and that is just un-American and illogical in my view.

I know lots of guys that hunt and Yes they like to kill the biggest dear or whatever...I defend their right and think anyone that would try to take that away is a enemy of our freedoms.

Why not? We are both living, breathing species with souls, and emotions. We feel pain, so do animals. We feel fear, so do they. We kill each other, so do they. Animals kill out of necessity, many people kill other people just for the heck of it. Animals don't boast when they kill. WE DO. That's because we can't resist showing off and boasting. Despite what people think, animals ARE smart. I've known dogs who are ALOT smarter than most humans I know..lol
