If you really believe that? How could you eat meat? That's the thing...you don't believe it and you would end up outlawing all killing of animals if you equate them with humans... which is unbiblical and illogical.

I don't want to take anyone's freedoms away. I just don't understand trophy killing. Why hunt at all if it's for nothing but putting an animal head on your wall? I'd rather hunt for the food it brings, as opposed to slaughtering it for absolutely no reason. And how does ANIMAL trophy hunting differ from HUMAN trophy hunting? Maybe I should go on a killing spree and mount people's heads on my wall. :/ It's the flip side of the same coin. Innocent people, innocent animals.

Like I said in my other post, I rarely eat meat anymore. Maybe once a year, if even that.. And I wouldn't outlaw ALL killing of animals. I would put a ban on killing primarily for fun, with no purpose other than to show off. It IS possible to hunt with an actual purpose, such as killing a deer for food, NOT coming across a dog or cat and say "I'm bored so I'm gonna skin that cat alive."

Lots of things I don't understand about women...why some have to have certain shoes or whatever...why they like sad movies...but I don't want to take things away from them that they enjoy when its perfectly fine that they have them... the hunters in our state and in the south have done more to help the overall health and well-being of the animals here ...Most have a respect and reverence for the animals they kill and hunting here gives the young people other things to do but watch TV and play video games and other evils.... Its very important here and its a very good and healthy thing in my view.
 
I grew up in a family that every year the men would hunt deer and the rest of us would stay at camp. They did this so we would have meat in our freezer. We would do this actually every weekend during the hunting season and it was wonderful for family time. Most of my childhood memories were attached to those weekends.

Well it sound like you have a double standard ...illogical to me, and really dishonest in a moral sense of what standards the bible places upon man and animal ...your position is unbiblical and harms the freedoms of others.

Show me bible verses where God says we can/should hunt primarily for sport. He gave us animals for FOOD, NOT TROPHIES. My position stands, I don't believe in hunting for fun. And it's not dishonest. I know humans and animals aren't EXACTLY the same, but we are similar in how we act, think, and feel. If you wanna kill for fun, have at it. Just don't expect me to join you.

Well lots of folks do a lot of things for fun...and for sport ... This is America :)

That's good that the hunters there mostly respect the animals. And I'm sure most hunters DO only kill for food, and not trophy heads. But the ones who DO kill for fun are the ones I hold disdain for. Trophy hunting provides no purpose other than to brag off and boast. And the bible SPECIFICALLY says pride goeth before a fall. :/ Hunting IS a good thing, if done properly. It teaches kids alot. Trophy killing just teaches them to needlessly kill.

nowhere is trophy hunting more out of control then in Africa
 
IMO, if people want to do something, they are going to do it and if they need to, they will come up with what seems to be a reason to do what they want to do

as far as the Bible goes, seems the first inhabitants of the earth were not meat eaters...that appeared to have occured much later and after much sin

and puhleeeeze folks! don't miscontrue that and say I said eating meat was a sin!

" Out of control" see the problem is that too many folks want to control what other folks do.. Hunting is a liberty many freedom loving Americans enjoy.... I think those who don't like it should get a hobby of their own and stop trying to control others :)

People already hunt other people. That how hit-men came around. How do you think we have murders and all that? Basically, it is people hunting people. Jesus even gave Peter a sheet full of animals and said, and I quote Acts 10:13. "And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter, kill, and eat.

hit men did not come about through a desire to hunt

one day, you might learn about that if you watch ..oh let's say a documentary or something...something other than cross bow hunting in the ozarks

as far as peter goes, you do realize the vision was a metaphor? dictionary would help with that one

going to be an interesting paper when it's written ....

Cant help the fact that honesty and reason seem to win out in a discussion :) I like fast motorcycles ..sometimes I run over small animals...you going to take my bikes away? :(
