I don't think this is a "moral" decision per se, so talking about right or wrong is moot here. I think it depends on what your calling is and whether you are heeding to it or not. In the case of Corrie ten Boom or Rahab (from the Bible), I think their calling was to shelter the oppressed and to provide an escape route for them. Eventually, God considers that alone, and the rest has little significance.

If God has called someone to provide a shelter to the Syrian refugees, even if they are Muslims, then that person has to provide a shelter to the Syrian refugees. He/she cannot reason with God and say, "Lord, but they could be terrorists!" God would probably reply, "And you were a sinner before I saved you!"
That's just leftist, bleeding heart nonsense that got many people killed today. Rahab took in Gods people ..because she believed in the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob.

Abing, thank you! I've been really angry, and I needed something to balance me. I NEVER thought I'd hear Corrie and her sister be referred to as 'weirdos', and you actually got me to smile with that.:) God bless you, sister, even in the midst of this tragedy, as I'm watching on foxnews, you came thru with God's joy and grace. Thank you! (weirdos...lol...yeah, me too:))

Abing...its not the same at all.... these people are in a religion of murder and hate ...do you take dangerous people into your home? Do you put your family in danger of being raped or killed? I take people into my home often..but I have a good idea of their emotional state and their intentions. n fact I allow the Lord to guide me... and often the Lord tells me to stay away from certain people.
Ah, I understand your point now. I can't compare Jews to Muslims. Then, I do agree with you and Roh, this is where God's calling practically applies. The only question that remains is: Who else will take the refugees in? Only those who are called by God to do so. And that's something I don't think a government body (with all its secularism) can decide on behalf of a nation.

Grace upon grace, Michael! We're blessed. You and me both. Appreciate your encouraging words.

A little of both. I usually agree with you, roh, but mits is right here, there IS a difference. We've really got to wake up and take a stand against this religion of hate. But by all means, if God is calling a person to do something, if you KNOW it's from Him, do it. But i think that's more an individual call, not for a whole nation to put it's security at risk. God bless you both, brothers.

Let this horrible attack be a testament to the pure evil that is Islam. I don't care what the PR says. The supposed religion of "peace" has existed for 1400 years and spread itself via conquest. They don't have peaceful missionaries like the Jesuits...instead their clerics are dealers of death, and they thrive on violence and blood. I have a few friends that are muslims... they don't try to forcibly convert me to their theological views. Yet their refusal to participate in Jihad... waging holy war... is in direct contrast against what traditional Islam demands of it's faithful adherents. Read the Quran or the Hadith sometime and you'll all understand what I mean. "Peace" in Islam is a myth. History stands in diametric opposition to what the ne'er-do-wells will say in a pitiful attempt to prop Islam up on an already wobbly foundation. 1400 years of militaristic opposition against different views, any and all. The indiscriminate nature of their violence and hates know no bounds. Truly, they're monsters... how long will the civilized world continue to tolerate this?

(Not too sure about the jesuits), but, .....Words of truth and courage from a young brother, thanks for weighing in. Wish I was like that at your age. May God bless and keep you strong and growing in grace and knowledge of Jesus.

I can't believe what's happening in France! I have four French colleagues in my work place that I will meet tomorrow. I hope their friends and families are ok. I pray that this madness stops!

First Charlie Hebdo, now this? Muslims really hate France and I don't understand why. I mean, why do you come to live in a country that you hate so much?
France was the proto-Great Satan. It was a Frankish king, Charles Martel, who stopped the march of Islam into Europe in 732. His great, great grandson, Charlemagne, formed the original Holy Roman Empire and continued to expand his realm into Moorish Spain and Muslim portions of Italy. During the Crusades, France served as the greatest base of manpower and money.

They have their other stated reasons- France maintains a cultural distinctiveness and there was that business with colonization and dominion over North Africa and Syria (perhaps this is why there were shouts of 'Syria,' but that is mere speculation).

I suspect though that these things are an afterthought. France is still hated because that once proud and fearsome nation stopped the high tide of Islam dead in its tracks. As such, it is a place of extreme symbolic importance in transcendent-minded Muslims who struggle differentiating modern France from the erstwhile Kingdom of the Franks.

This is truely tragic news. My heart goes out to all those impacted by this.

Some thoughts come to mind, even if they did not have guns they could still orchestrate this attack eg bombs/ suicide bombers.

Secondly even if we do not take any refugees or immigrants it does not stop the problem of islamic extremism it is like trying to shut the door after the horse has bolted. The killers of fussilier Lee Rigby in London were converts to Islam. Many most of those going to fight for IS are not first generation imigrants.

We need good security services who pick up on these plans before they are implented.

I believe the UK is likely to be attacked. We warned a year ago that football stadiums were likely targets, it is worth noting they attacked Stade de France.

I do wonder if there is the link to the bombing of a convoy with Jihadi John and this attack. There were kind of implying that if he was killed it was not significant to IS and the attack on the convey was self defence. In my mind it raises the question was he not their primary target and that they were aware there was imminant attack on Paris.

A number of those who are in the refugee camps are coming to know Christ. Could God be using these situations to draw people to himself?

My Jewish great great grandfather fled persecution in Germany seventy years before Hitler took to the world stage.

America took him in willingly. He didn't, to my knowledge, speak a word of English, but I'll tell you one thing- whatever grievances cultural or otherwise he may have had, he kept them to himself. I was never taught that gentiles are pigs or monkeys. I was never taught to blow people up for the advancement of our cultural group. I was never taught that domination of planet earth and subjugation of others was a goal.

He taught his children to live as Americans and they passed that on. His legacy was one of peaceful coexistence with others and gratitude for being a part of this shining City on a Hill. America blessed him and he blessed America back. In so doing, he became American. His family eventually merged with the descendants of Bay Colony Puritans who arrived during the Great Migration.

I know very little of his personal story. It took a long time for me to figure out the man was Jewish and that his wife was, most-likely, another German Jew. But I can tell you what kind of children he had and the kind of children they had.

This, my friends, is not the story of the Muslim experience in the Western world as far as I can ascertain it. Most seem to escape difficulties at home only to bring the same difficulties to foreign shores. The more pacifistic ones, if they exist, are rarely seen shouting down and admonishing those who would plan attacks.

My cousin and his wife and new baby reside in England.Worried for their safety tonight. And the safety of all.
I can understand your concerns and wish I could guarantee their safety. All I can say is that people should avoid City Centres if at all possible. In particular areas where their are government buildings or large entertainment venues. It seems that the attacks target places where large numbers of people gather.

Well they did have guns and bombs even tho they are very strong laws against guns... the point being the bad guys will always get guns if they really want them. If one citizen had a gun, they could have saved many lives.

This is heartbreaking.

For them killing non muslim people will bring them to heaven.
I worked in Saudi arabia before, was sorrounded with muslims, and i can testify how cruel they are, i am not judging them, it was based on experienced, maybe some are fine, for i have some muslim acquaitances, but man...their attitude...its so bad.majority of them, their beliefs are really out of this world.

If that's what their god wants, kill innocent people.
Then wow. I am speechless.

Just to update , as to date and time, I have seen the latest death toll at 153, and others say 128...Of course ISIS is claiming responsibility, 8 Attackers dead. 7 attackers died carrying out suicide bombings. As for the victims: {and this is based on the 128 total earlier noted so far}: Around 80 killed in concert hall. 14 killed at Petit Cambodge Restaurant. 19 killed outside La Belle Equipe Bar. Hollande, the leader of France has called this an act of war, and claims they will be pitiless in responding along with a unified effort in response. Also, 180 so far reported wounded. Just a simple update............Let us pray for the families and victims and for the protection of Gods Children as a whole. God be in this to show your glory in it!

"You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come." Matthew 24:6.

* Let's stay in prayer! Let's ask God to use these events to bring unprecedented openness to people.

* Ask God to bless the Ministry that has been thrust upon the Church to help those affected by the Terrorists.

* Ask God to focus the minds of the public officials and military for the need for prayer in dealing with the challenging difficulties and decisions before them.

* Ask God to stand against Satans attempts to make people experience unresolved Anger or Guilt over the loss of loved ones, or a desire to seek revenge. God is a God of Justice! The suicide bombers and attackers of ISIS are, even now, suffering for their evil, justice will be served, if not here, then in God's final timing.

* Pray for the return of peace, and order.

* And folks we need to start from victory not for it in that we need to thank God! God will use for good, what Satan intended for harm. Gen. 50:20-21. Ultimately, our war is not against flesh and blood. Eph. 6:12.

* Thank God for the people who will be drawn to seek His face.

*Thank God for a vivid reminder of our own mortality and vulnerability, asking God to strengthen us thru this personally!
"Father we beseech Thee, come be with us and in this situation and protect us from further harm, and thru it all may your glory be highlighted not tainted, in Jesus name...Amen!"

You are right that the bad guy will always get guns. However and my opinion is changing, on whether citizens should be allowed to carry guns (starting to change my mind and think they should) I don't know if as a citizen I would be quick thinking enough to fire before the damage was done ie the gun man started firing (how many individuals have been in this situation). The biggest issue is the people who commit these atrocities mind set they don't care if they die they actually welcome what they see as matryridom. I grew up when the IRA was bombing the mainland, these were pre-planted bombs detonated remotely, how long before these individuals start doing these type of things, (Enniskin remembrance Sunday bomb, Warrington shopping centre bomb, Horse Gaurds, the Conservative party conference in Brighton). The only effective method is having strong security services who pick up on the plans and take them out before they can impliment them.

I'm wondering, as the rains began, what was Noah praying? Probably not that God show mercy or that He open the hearts of those living in cites nearby. Noah likely prayed that God's will be done, despite the horror of what that will included.

What do we know about the people who will rise up to do battle at Armageddon? What will happen to the nations who attack Israel? What will happen to Russia? God's judgment will pour out on the enemies of Israel. WE know this. When we pray for God's will to be done, we know it means judgment. Until the final judgment, it can mean a chance for redemption and salvation.

The French are suffering today. Why is God allowing this suffering? The French government has chosen a path of opposition to God's chosen people. They once built a nuclear reactor in Iraq, that Israel went and destroyed. France recognized the PLO and favored the Palestinians over Israel. Jews have been persecuted in France in recent years. Many have fled the country. Are the people of France suffering as a result of it's government's decisions to abandon the Jews? If they are, what will become of the U.S. if our government turns away from Israel and embraces their enemies? Are American citizens at greater risk of attacks like yesterdays attacks in Paris? Will God spare the U.S. if our government turns away from Israel and turns away from God's teachings on morality, homosexuality, recognition of sin and the need to be born again? The horrors in Paris may not be far from the streets of the U.S. As we come a day closer to Christ's return, God's will may be further judgments on man, as they prepare for the final battle.

France is suffering because they allowed their country to be overrun by muslims ...if you allow a thug into your house and he rapes aqnd robs and kills your family ...you don't have to wonder why God allowed it to happen. you did it to yourself.
