I have a wii u. You an download all the oldschool snes games if you want, for a reasonable fee. The console was worth it just for that. Cuz seriously....how many people still have their snes? I have mine but lost the powercords
You can do that in the playstation store too, I buy old PS1 games all the time through the PS3. I didn't know Nintendo did that as well, thanks for letting us know!

All consoles should be backwards compatible. It's great for the consumer and it's great for the company. It's a win-win situation.

I think they want us to keep buying the older games through their stores using the newer consoles...more money for them...but it sucks for us.

No, like you put a PS3 game into the PS4 (my brother has one) and it won't read it!

Please, PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one who remembers this:

If there's not a single other person who can remember the original Atari video game console... Sign me up for the Shady Pines CC Singles Retirement Forum immediately...
Yep my grandpa had one in his basement. We played star wars and ET and jungle hunt and pitfall and sea quest and frogger and some other games on it. I think the intellivision was better personally, when that wore out we got the 7800 atari console which was compatible with all the other atari games but had some special new games (for the controllers that had 2 buttons).

Anyone else coming on this trip down memory lane….

I had a nintendo when I was a kid but didn't get too into it. I came back to video games at Playstation 1. That was when my life started becoming nothing but video games. I checked out at Playstation 2 and got my life back.

But if you can download old PS1 games, you gotta look up Armored Core. One of the best games ever.

Armored Core? Never heard of it...but I'll definitely look it up, thanks Lynx!

Everyone, name your all time favorite video game. :D

Mine would be Super Mario Bros for the SNES.

Old video games? Tetris :D Pokemon Emerald
Newer ones (that I used to enjoy at least): Minecraft, World of Warcraft, Starcraft - no I didn't actually like that last one. Hmm maybe Runescape too. Clash of Clans! Lol. Hearthstone.

Not playing any of these games anymore though. They were fun back in the days.

Super Mario 3 was awesome. I had it down to a science. Play straight through worlds 1 and 2 (getting the hidden warp whistles and P-wing powerups. When you hit world 3, warp straight to world 8.

In world 8 use the first P-wing at the parade of tanks. At the parade of ships dive underwater and swim under them all. After that it's all easy.

Ya but you ever tried to force yourself to play through everything without getting a whistle? Its too tempting to pass up.

Oh maaan...

Castlevania: SotN & LoI & Bloodlines
Final Fantasy VI & VII & VIII & X & Tactics
Mario: RPG & World & Galaxy
Chrono Trigger
Diablo II
Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater/Subsistence
Vandal Hearts
Phantasy Star IV
Shadow of the Colossus
Star Ocean: Til the End of Time

...thinking about these is actually kind of depressing (lots of good memories around the times I played these).
