I've been applying and praying, basically. I'm not a very go-getter kind of person, which I swear that will be the death of me. The thought of doing what you're suggesting actually sort of terrifies me >.<
I dealt with that a lot when I was a teenager. It is just something you have to get over. Easier said than done I know, but this is how you get the really good opportunities in life. You are going to be told no a lot of times, you need to get used to that idea if thats what bothers you. All a no means is ok, onto the next place. No need to take anything personally. You have to network and socialize to get ahead. Even if you have a really good college degree.....if you ignore networking and just apply without making contact, every single other person that does network/socialize/take initiative is ahead of you by a long shot. Even if they are not even 10% of the worker you are.

I was really nervous the first time I tried this too and even made a few embarassing faux passes but I was sick and tired of getting 20 applications and coming back home writing my fingers off filling the same stuff out over and over and over. This was back before everyone had you do it online. That and I am a picky person when it comes to shift, i was tired of hearing hey we will hire you but only if you come in at the crack of dawn.....after I already filled everything else out. I did get over it eventually so now I just go, hey manager. I want to work 4pm to 12. Is that open? No? Oh, thanks for your time. Bye bye. Next place I want to work here I come.

If you aren't being too picky. It should not take you even a full day to get hired somewhere.

Yeah, honestly I'm pretty accommodating. The only thing I ask for is no Sundays because I already have commitments and I refuse to miss church.

I tell them I can work any time they want me to, basically. I don't even care if I have to get up at 4 am.

The less pickier you are, the faster it works. Since this is really just an entry level job for you, just take whatever you can get. Get some experience working. But just so you know, you can actually be very very picky once you get comfortable doing this. You can even get jobs you have absolutely no idea how to do and by all rights should not have been hired for. This is why you see idiots running companies as ceos that have absolutely no idea what they are doing. I got an office job with sick benefits like this one time. Had no idea how to develop film or do graphic design but I got the job anyway. lol.

Im self employed right now but if I have to get back into the actual job market at some point, I am going to aim so ridiculously high just for fun.

Watch your words then! Dont come on here and bash your dad. It isnt becoming. God says honor your parents. Your dad sounds like a good dad. He is trying to help you.
Get outside and get some exercise. Take in all that you are thankful for. Make your dad the first thing you are thankful for. Some people dont have a dad. Be thankful
I based what I said on what you wrote! :DLOL

1 Peter 5:

Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” ...

Ephesians 6:1

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

Proverbs 20:11

Even a child makes himself known by his acts, by whether his conduct is pure and upright.

Ephesians 6:1-4

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
Oh boy, another SAP (self appointed prophet for the newbies who aren't familiar with Seoul's acronym) who doesn't know the meaning of the word civility.

This is pecan pie. :D It's made from nuts called pecans. They usually make it with corn syrup and brown sugar, though I'm looking for a non-corn syrup version because I don't like using corn syrup or corn products in my cooking.

TURKEY. It's so rare when I eat turkey but it's one of my favorite foods and I always sleep best around Thanksgiving because of all the turkey I eat. lol

Though pumpkin pie is sooooo good.

I want to read books again since my mom died, but I gotta say, I've tried quite a few times, and the words just all blur together.

Lil, I am so sorry. :( This just breaks my heart, and I really want to give you a hug.
