I HAVE ONE LINE THAT I HAVE USED FOR YEARS AND HAS WORKED 90% OF THE TIME

MIND YA NOW
SINCE I AM SAVED I HAD TO CLEAN THE VERSION UP.......

BUT IT GOES SOMETHING LIKE THIS........

HOW YA DOING.......
MY NAME IS RICH AND I THINK YOUR EVERYTHING I NEED
CARE TO JOIN ME FOR LUNCH.......?

I THINK IT WORKS BECAUSE I AM ALSO EXTREMELY ---CONFIDENT--- IN WHO I AM AND IN MY ABILITIES

I mean, he should know me in another context before feeling confident enough to approach me to chat me up for a date. The idea of an approach, as if this is the only way to get to know a woman, is weird.

It's not weird at all. See, if he doesn't already know you then the only way he's going to get to know you is by asking you out or otherwise requesting your company.

I suppose you're entitled to your own rule of instant rejection for any non-aquaintence, but please let's not unjustly label a perfectly normal and acceptable social device as 'weird'. There is nothing wrong with wanting to spend time with someone (even somone whom you've only just met) in order to get to know them; it's how friendships happen.

Honestly, most girls are going to think you are wierd if you come outta the blue and approach them. Generally we date from a pool of friends, unless we are out somewhere looking for guys (the bar, the club, speed dating place). Your best bet in any situation, however, is to be honest, be casual, and don't use a creepy pick up line. Sometimes the best bet is to just strike up a conversation about something you are both looking at...unless it's make-up, girl products, or women' clothing...because WHY are you looking at that? But if you are at a book store and you see her pick up a book by an author you know, be like, Hey, that's an awesome book, or Noooo don't do it, try this instead. If you are in line looking at a menu, ask her what she recommends (if you've got enough time to strike a little bit of conversation, offer to keep her company...do not offer to buy her lunch, it's too fast). Casual works the best...not something as transparent as I'm looking for a unicorn for my neice...if you don't know your neice wel enough to figure out what toy she'd like best a girl isn't going to think much of you.

Dont approach me guys.....makes me think ur desperate and cant be trusted hahahaha........eye to eye contact is the best!!!if i like u,...i will smile at ya.... :)

Quick question: how can we be honest and casual whilst trying to (artifically) engineer some kind of circumstance in which we can talk to you, and then proceeding with a conversation that is only being employed as an excuse to be in your company?

So looking is fine, but we have to keep our distance? Can we use hand signals?

Perhaps the simplest approach would be to develop telepathy :) that way we can approach every woman in the correct way accounting for the million potential variants in how they each may react to a polite introduction, but then I suppose us knowing things they haven't told us would 'creep them out' seems like it's not worth the hassle. :p

I know! Here's a sad but true story: My friend was accused of being 'weird' or 'creepy' simply because he was able to recollect things she had told him about herself on their previous encounter. It seems she was even disturbed by him knowing things she had willfully disclosed to him. So the moral of the story is...what? Having a good memory is bad? Don't listen to women?

Next time he'll pretend not to remember and she'll say 'you never listen to a word I say!!!', poor blighter!

Indeed. If God hadn't cursed men with this instinctive desire to procreate then I'm quite sure we'd never go near the opposite sex.

Of course, I suspect it works vice versa as well.

That goes against everything that TV and Hollywood has taught us. I prefer sidling. You sidle up to someone and get closer and closer until they eventually notice you. Generally approach from behind and to the side in their blind spot.

I must be fortunate, then. I find myself in the company of men all the time whom I know for reasons other than personal requests. It sounds awfully stifled, to never be able to speak to a woman except by formal request. It happens all the time to me, at work, among friends, but I guess my morals are loose.

No, I was talking about those men who see you and would like to talk to you but have had no previous contact with you.

Actually, with all the availability of sperm banks and artificial insemination, there really is no need for member of the opposite sex to ever come into contact with each other... EVER.

(Sorry, caught me in a cynical moment!!!)

yeah but blokes are still useful for financial support

lol not sure how the hand signal works,.....but to be honest,...u can look at me in the eyes (but not stare),...and like i said, if i like u i will smile,...if i dont smile,...keep looking whether i look back at u,..if this happens, means tht i like u,...and if i dont look back, means i dont like u, and i hope tht u can give up coz i wouldnt like it if guys keep looking at me when im not interested.

secondly, when u notice tht i like u,...if let say, we r in school or at work,or whereever which we can see each other again...give it time. dont just come and approach me and ask me to go out for dinner or something....give it time...i love it when the guy i like didnt say anything to me but only giving an eye contact and smile.......(its more fun tht way) give it like mayb a month or two, then only u can ask me out....

if let say we meet coincidently in a restaurant or wherever which will be impossible to meet again, (when u notice tht i like u), greet me....and at the end of the conversation, try to get my phone numb, dont just give out urs coz i wont bother calling u,...u have to make the first move,...

nway, different girls have different styles of wanting guys to approach them.....but im not an easy one,...so this is my way,....its up to u to decide :)
