I can't tell you how much I want to meet a real legit prophet but searching on the web for one does no good not to mention if I did find one I likely would not be able to speak with them. But being a prophet is not an easy job in fact it is one of the hardest because you will be attacked quite often and be called horrible things and ppl will speak lies of you and will try to do everything to bring you down and make sure you can't get back up. If anyone wants to be a prophet I think they might consider the cost
Blain, I understand how you desire to meet a real legit prophet, but I must inform you that it will not happen in your life time as man. Let me educate you and all of the members of this site!!! There are no more prophets in this world and there will be no more prophets to come. Blain, the only way you will get to meet a true prophet is, if you keep GOD commandments, laws and statutes, as he instruct you to do so and you make it into GOD's kingdom where the prophets from the old testaments will be, upon the resurrection of the dead.
Now to explain and support my statements above, I will begin with the definition of a prophet: proph·et
a person regarded as an inspired teacher or proclaimer of the will of God.
"the Old Testament prophet Jeremiah"
a person who advocates or speaks in a visionary way about a new belief, cause, or theory.
a person who makes or claims to be able to make predictions.
(in Christian use) the books of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, and the twelve minor prophets.
So, a prophet is a person who proclaims GOD's will to the people, he reveals GOD's plan from past, present, and Future. He gives GOD's divine orders, request, requirements, and orders. Well the prophets of the old testaments did this already. The Bible has the complete will and plan of GOD in the old testaments from Genesis to Malachi. It is written in a book for all of us to know; therefore, it is not a need for a prophet in today's time, as it was not in the time of Jesus.
As you can see GOD's servants were called Apostles in the New Testaments, not prophets because all prophecies had been made. There is nothing left to reveal of GOD's plan. This is evidence by the fact that in the New Testament, nothing new were taught or brought out to the people. However, Jesus and the Apostle of the New Testaments, spoke of things already foretold or prophesized in the Old Testaments. The New Testaments begins the fulfilling of the prophecy from the Old Testaments and reiterates what has been told. Even the birth of Jesus was foretold in the Old Testaments and the New Testaments show fulfillment of it. For example, in Matthew 2:4-5, when Herod called all the Chief Priest and Scribes of Israel together and demanded of where Jesus was to be born, they were able to tell him because it was foretold in the Old Testaments (Micah 5:2):
( --- Matthew: (New)
4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.
5 And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,
Micah: (Old)
2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah,
though thou be little among the thousands of Judah,
yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me
that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth
have been from of old, from everlasting. -- )
Jesus came and fulfilled everything which was written in the Old Testament, of his coming. Such as,
(--Comparison scripture fulfillment:
Matthew 4:12-16: (New)
12 Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;
13 And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:
14 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
15 The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim,
by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;
16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
Isaiah 9:1-3 -- : (Old)
1 Nevertheless the dimness
shall not
be such as
was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict
her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.
2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. -- ) end of comparison scripture 1.
( --- comparison scripture 2: --- Matthew 8:16-17: (New)
16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with
his word, and healed all that were sick:
17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare
our sicknesses.
Isaiah 53:4 -- : (Old)
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. -- ) end of comparison scripture 2.
( -- Comparison scripture 3: --- Matthew 12:16-18 (New) - :
16 And charged them that they should not make him known:
17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
Isaiah 42:1-3
1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect,
in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
2 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.
3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth. -- )end of comparison scripture 3.
(--- Comparison scripture 4: --- Matthew 21:1-5: (New)
1 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,
2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose
them, and bring
them unto me.
3 And if any
man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.
4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
Zechariah 9:9
9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he
is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass. --- ) end of comparison scripture 4.
( --- comparison scripture 5: --- John 19:16-37 (New)
16 Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led
him away.
17 And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called
the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:
18 Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.
19 And Pilate wrote a title, and put
it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.
20 This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew,
and Greek,
and Latin.
21 Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.
22 Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.
23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also
his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.
24 They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.
25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the
wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.
26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!
27 Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own
home.
28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put
it upon hyssop, and put
it to his mouth.
30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and
that they might be taken away.
32 Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.
33 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:
34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
35 And he that saw
it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.
36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.
37 And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.
Psalms 22:18
18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
Psalm 69:21
21 They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
Psalms 34:20
20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
Zechariah 12:10
10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for
his only
son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for
his firstborn.
So as you can see the New Testaments only speak of things in which is already been prophesized or written. It often states for it is written....
FYI....All of the Prophets and Apostles were Israelites, if you are not from one of the 12 tribes of Israel, you can not be a Prophet!!!! Jesus came to his own -- Israelites only!!!
I hope this helps you, Blain,
