Rule nr. 1 in dating: NEVER be desperate
Rule nr. 2: be positive. Wether at work or in church or in dating, people don't want desperate losers. And they will think you are one.
Trust me. I have been there. Same problem. Same story. I learned that unless you have real good friends (REAL good ones!) it is not advisable or in any way useful to share your true emotions "Hi how are you thanks I'm fine blah blah" is all that people wanna hear, no negative stories.
Most of them at least, even in church. Church is for prayers and "fellowship" (lukewarm handshakes, lukewarm cheap tea and superficial conversations but nothing beyond). Gym people don't wanna talk. Workmates are for work. Nice people with kids (I have kids too) never have time. etc. etc. What you want (an answer to your question) you WILL NOT FIND HERE. Just ask for prayers or just tell people how happy you are thanks to the lord.
I used to be frustrated when people kept telling me to take my problems to god instead of trying to help me. Like a broken record. Now I am glad they said it. I realized too many christians mean "tell god and stop telling me... I don't wanna hear it. Be positive". Life is tough. Christians are just people, imperfect human beings.
See I am single, I work 60 hours a week and in between I squeeze in exercising. Little time for dating but also not much for desperation! Just do something that makes you happy. My town has places to go to, things to see... I might not find love in the gym, pool or museum but it makes me feel good and I get fit. Sure it would be nicer to sit on top of a hill overlooking Wellington at sunset and the mountains in the distance next to the queen of your heart instead of alone. But it is still beautiful so I go anyway
The less I think about being single the more I can focus on other stuff where I can get ahead.
Sitting at home and feeling bad - no love either. You can't force it - what you can do is live your life while it happens. If you can't get happy with women you need to find something that makes you happy. Music, hobby, sport....
Stop thinking about being single - go to the gym, the pool, ....... be busy
There was a lady once. Asking what to do to find a nice guy....pretty much gave her the same advice...
