I think I'm on to something...but I do need some help...

You won't find that in mainstream teaching.
I've been a part of a total of 4 different churches in my life.
All 4 of them (in 4 different cites accross Texas), they would teach the same thing over and over and over and over to the point where you could go get a calendar and pin point the next years services/teachings because it was the same thing for each week of the year.
There's more than just the basics of having the relationship with Jesus.
And it looks like to me that she is in a place where she's like, "Ok, I'm saved. I'm walking hand and hand with the Lord, and I'm striving to learn more about the Lord as a grow in Him."

I applaud where she is at, because she's striving for more. I've been in the same position she's at, and it was around the same age.

Some churches follow a liturgical calendar. Even God has His appointed times throughout the year. Do you find those boring as well? I guess I am out of mainstream Christianity, and I am truly thankful for that. :)

I never called anything boring, but one really can't learn anything new when everything is just a repetition cycle. The church I went to that were like that, if someone "learned something new" or "came to a new understanding" and brought it to the pastor or assisstant pastors attention, the pastor or assisstant pastor would basically say it "didn't fit their agenda".

And there is a plethura that "main stream" churches do this.

So how is someone going to grow in their relationship with God if nothing else is taught than just basics, or the leaders are hendering something being taught?

And to me there is a difference between appointed times by man, and appointed times by God.
I don't really pay attention to appointed times by man.

You sounded bored by all the repetition, as if nothing new can be learned by going over things repeatedly. Of course this flies in the face of the knowledge gleaned and deepened by repeated readings of any literature. What you describe does sounds pretty dry, though. My apologies for thinking you were bored by not being motivated or not learning anything. I love learning new things :)

Todd is most likely the most gentle, unassuming man I have ever met.... except for, maybe, *Tourist*.
 
JFSurvivor, as I read your comments, the one thing that came to my mind was your desire for the "meat" of the word of God. I have a suggestion for you. Remember that most messages that are preached are topical and about 30 minutes long. If one stops there they learn very little. Most organized Bible studies are much the same (maybe a little more detailed and a few minutes longer). For most Christians, this and a brief daily bible "reading" is about as far as we go. Most Bible colleges have on line courses in both the Old and New Testaments. These courses are taught by professors that have spent many years studying the subjects that they teach. I recommend that you consider taking both the courses. Please PM me if you would like more details.

How do you see that as discouragement? Having a desire to see someone go in the right direction being taken as discouragement by you seems odd. Acknowledging that others do/did indeed have some understanding of the situation cannot be taken as discouragement either. Indeed it is encouraging to those who have been trying to help even if they are snubbed, and the suggestions deflected or ignored for whatever reason. Your motives are questionable.

Did you read the latter part of what he said.

"And some of us are trying to steer you away from things we know won't profit."

All she has been talking about how she's learning about the feasts, and a wanting to observe them.

In my walk I've learned and profitted from feast observance.
He is telling her that there is nothing to be learned or profitted.
Basically, discouraging what she has learned.

Or that's the way it's coming out across as to me.
 
As far as God having a wife,she would have to be a God too,but God said He is the only God,and there is no God beside Him,and there was no God formed before Him,and there shall be no God formed after Him.

Jesus said there is no gender in heaven with people and the angels,for the only thing that separates a man and a woman is the flesh,the spirit,and soul,are the same,and they put off the flesh,and have a spiritual body.That is why all the angels have male names for they are greater than people.God is a Spirit and is known by a male name for He is greater than people,but there is no opposite sex of Him.It would appear that God does not have a gender,but has a male name to show His authority.

In the New Testament we do not go by the physical ordinances of Israel,because they have no bearing on us spiritual,but they had to do them in the Old Testament to be right with God.Since they could not have the Spirit in the Old Testament to be able to keep the moral laws of God perfectly,God had them do physical ordinances to keep right with Him that was possible to keep.

In the New Testament we can have the Spirit and can keep the moral laws,laws of love,by being led of the Spirit,and have no need for the physical ordinances of Israel.

When Jesus was on earth,the physical ordinances were still in effect.

IMO she needs to get alone with a bible and study it instead of asking everyone's opinion. But if I hear a hurting seeking heart, I can't help but respond.

How is her decision unprofitable. Unless I'm missing something in what she has stated.
All I see is she's learned about the feasts and wants to observe them and learn more.
She believe's in following the 10 commandments.
And she wants to learn more of this, and get into a closer relationship with God.

IMO all that information there is profitable. 100% profitable.

There is a lot knowledge and insight to learn/gain in that.
