Jesus died and rose again on the third day, in old testament.

Gandalf has said he doesn't need to read Paul's letters to live as Christ taught, therefore he follows the written code, not the holy spirit( rom7:6)
Maybe you should think before you post sir...

I take it to mean Christ, not Noah is proclaiming the gospel to them
Oh sorry. I confused 1 Peter 4:6 with 1 Peter 3:20. 1 Peter 4:6 refers to living persons who are spiritually dead, i.e., don't believe. The gospel is proclaimed to them so that they may be judged by those who also live in the flesh, but live godly lives.

The bible is specific, Jesus died on the cross, was made alive by the spirit through whom he went and made proclamation to the spirits of those in prison who had previously died
You cannot preach the gospel to any person living or dead I they do not have consciousness to understand it
You are misinterpreting that verse.

1 Peter 3:18-20 KJV
(18) For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
(19) By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
(20) Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

Verse 18 says Christ was quickened by the Spirit. Then verse 19 says by which meaning by the Spirit He preached to the spirits in prison in the days of Noah as verse 20 says. Notice this verse in Genesis

Genesis 6:3 KJV
(3) And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

Are you a seventh day Adventist? I know they believe she you are dead you are fully dead so to speak.
If that were true how could Saul speak to Samuel when he went to see the witch of endor? How could Abraham rejoice to see Christs day?

In 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Paul says that Jesus died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. According to what scriptures? What scriptures specifically, in the old testament I assume, was Paul referring to that said Jesus would die and rise again on the third day?

[h=1]1 Corinthians 15:1-4New King James Version (NKJV)[/h][h=3][/h]1 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, [SUP]2 [/SUP]by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, [SUP]4 [/SUP]and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures
I don't think there is anything in the Old Testament that directly says Christ would rise on the third day, but there are things that allude to it. I think this is probably the most direct thing, but it's questionable IMO.

After two days he will revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. Hosea 6:2

There is the possibility that Paul was referring to Christ's own words as being scripture.

Joh 8:57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
Joh 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Jesus is not talking about Abraham in the present tense... (just saying)

I AM the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He is not the God of the dead but of the living Matt22:32

:D ok, who did Abraham speak to when he had the 3 visitors? ABBA Father or Yeshua?
Quote the verses. Then we shall see, I am on a mobile.

There was no discussion in those verses Tha would lead Abraham to rejoice in the coming christ

Who does death have no hold over as written in scripture, Christ or the father?
Both of them, Yeshua never sinned.

As a result of sin death will have a hold on you but without sin death will not have a hold on you.

The only reason Yeshua could die was because He became flesh. He gave His life wilfully.

Really? I was under the impression that verse was specifically in relation to Jesus death at Calvary, not the father
