He says he is sold as a slave to sin.he cannot do the good he wants to do, but the evil he does not want to do, Tha which he hates he does.
How do you square that with your statements?

He COULD NOT DO THE GOOD HE WANTED TO DD but rather THE EVIL he did not want to do Tha which he hated HE DID

Paul could not do good, only evil.

the safe word to interpret would be "covet" or "desire" or "lust" as used in most modern day translations, which would cover all the possible interpretations of the word.

That's what happens when we rely on the flesh.

God did not kill the flesh when he saved us, he just gave us the power to overcome it though his power.

Paul realized that, and made a point, if I try to do it my old way (in the flesh) I fail

The LKV used a poor interpretation. which is questionable.. The greek does not say that exacly, it is their opinion.

Nevertheless, when Paul received Jesus as His Lord and Saviour, the consistent draw to sin was broken. Then, as he became aware of sin, he became aware of how his flesh fights against the knowledge of God and His righteousness he was called to. Certainly he---and we---became aware of how we once lived and had no second thought about choosing to sin.

Paul was using a literary device to emphasize the opposition the flesh wages against the knowledge of God. The reality remains: in Christ we are more than conquerors.

No one can overcome any sin apart from obedience to Jesus Christ through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
