First time I've ever bawled my eyes out at a Christmas. She's been gone for only three months, so it was the first Christmas without her. My parents got me a book of pictures with Chloe and then the heart beside it is her birthdate and her death with her most recent paw print (the vets did her paw print right before they put her down).
Yesterday I let my phone die and did not bother setting up my laptop; zero electronics after work. The result? A nice walk, lit some candles and relaxed, along with practicing bass guitar, and was a little more involved with the family.
I started early with my NYE resolution lol. I... cooked something today. And it was delicious!!! I love eating vegetables, but my roomies don't so they don't always cook veggies for me so I had to woman up and do it myself. I downloaded this app called Cook's Illustrated. And they have free recipes with videos and useful features like shopping list, cooking timer, etc. I found a recipe that looked so appealing, it's called Sautéed Green Beans with Garlic and Herbs. So I went to the grocery and bought all ingredients (It was exciting!). I learned today that there are so many spices and herbs that exist, not just salt and pepper lel. I went looking for this thing called Thyme (Scarborough Fair lol). I didn't even know what it looked like! But the folks working at the store were kind enough to let me know they didn't sell that. So... I googled a substitute. Google said, I could use Basil. And I had that at home. So I used Basil instead. I don't know what I'm missing by not using Thyme leaves but I really liked it! For a beginner I will rate myself 10/10. For cooking and effort combined teehee.
