I'm non-demonisational but believe in the Trinity. Most people I've come across that dont believe in Trinity are presbyterians, anyone with a world wide church of god background, 7th day adventists, groups like that.

Presbyterians are Calvanists! They certainly believe in the Trinity - check out the Westminster Catechism.

Seventh Day Adventist and Jehovah's Witness came from the same source - Millerites. They split from each other after the Great Disappointment in the 19th Century. Millerites were never considered Christians - the rejected the Trinity and HeLL - and made false predictions.

What is a world wide church of God?

I was a member of a "denomination" for almost 30 years until I realized that their dogmatic approach to the power of the Holy Spirit strongly differed from mine. I now consider myself to be non-denominational. Iwill no longer be driven by the dictates and traditions of a denomination. Instead, I choose to follow the teaching of scriptures and the directions of the Holy Spirit.

and it took you 30 years to figure this out! LOL. Just Joking!!!! I am a pastor of a christian church, we used to say that we were a non-denominatioal church , but there is a bigger tag on non-denominatioal churches in this area than nonminational churches, and most of it is negative. but yes we do believe in God, the Father, The Son, and the Holy Ghost.

Claiming that you are not apart of a denomination because you attend a nondenominational church is like me claiming that I am not American because I have decided that I do not agree with all the rules and standards - it doesn't matter that live in America or happen to be a citizen.....

It doesn't make sense.

Now what I really need if for someone to read this post and brand me as unAmerican. eeeeesh

You said you choose to follow the teaching of the scriptures and the directions of the Holy Spirit. So would that mean you believe in the trinity or no? Last time I checked everyone had a different interpretation on what the Holy Spirit says. So what is your belief?

No, it did not take me 30 years to figure it out. I had to convince my wife to leave the church that she had been a member of for most of her life.

I have also received negative comments from my denominational brethern. They assume that my church is not under authority because I am not part of a group/association /synod etc.

My authority and my calling come from God, I don't need man to validate what God has done.

I believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. I believe they are one yet three at the same time. I believe they each have a distinct function even though they co-exist as one.

I pray to God the Father in the Name of God the Son Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit. I do this because it is what I believe.

I have no idea why somone would assume that because a chrch is non-denominational that they have different beliefs. Most of them are unfettered by human bonds and traditions.

I believe the Holy Spirit's role is vaster than any explanation that I could give. Some of what He does is: He teaches us, He guides us, He strengthens us, He comforts us, He dispenses gifts to us, He equips us, He gives us discernment and so much more. As to what He says; that is for each of us to hear individually because we all have different roles in the Body of Christ. And before you ask, I believe that all who truly believe are part of the Body of Christ.

In Christ!

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah but!

if you want ot convey age old truths, you need them to sound modern and relevant

BUT

if you want to convey a heresy it is best to give it the authority of King James English

people should think about that next time someone says they have a 'word of knowlege'

I have seen this at work

ok, I dont know what denominational or nondenominational has to to with the price of tea in China, but I am Baptist and I (we) believe in the Trinity. Father, Son, Holy Ghost, God in three persons. I like pickles am not really sure how it works but, I am sure God will explain it to me when I get to Heaven.

The Worldwide Chruch of God is the chruch founded by Herbert Armstrong. It believes in God the Father and God the Son, but believe the Holy Spirit is not a separate person.

I don't claim to know what a person believes who does not belong to any denomination. I do know that those that are part of no denomination are not all the same. Some of them believe in the trinity while others do not though I believe every person who has responded to this thread says they do believe in the trinity. That is not the case with every person I ask about the trinity. I'm trying to determine if a person arrived to the conclusion of believing in the trinity or not believing in it without the influence of other denominations. I thought by asking non denominational Christians would be a good place to start.

Most non denominational people have come from a regular church background so the chances are high they will believe in the Trinity. Others who have had no church background at all problem won't believe in it unless they have been taught it or exposed to it.

It becomes a huge problem when you have become convinced a certain teaching is the truth, yet you can't find a church that matches what you believe.

William Booth: “I worshipped everything that bore the name of Methodist. To me there was one God, and John Wesley was his prophet. I had devoured the story of his life. No human compositions seemed to me to be comparable to his writings, and to the hymns of his brother Charles, and all that was wanted, in my estimation, for the salvation of the world was the faithful carrying into practice of the letter and the spirit of his instructions.”

Unfortunately finding a church like this is like finding a needle in a haystack, as the old saying goes.
