That's a horrible religion...it goes against the saving power and blood of Christ..our salvation is not dependent on us..it's because of Christ..and we are in Him.

this teaching on the link below will help with understanding about "abiding in Christ " and in the unfruitful branches ..

What Happens to Unfruitful Branches? – Escape to Reality

That's not really true. Scripture says that all of those who have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. They are in Christ, and therefore Christians. If they don't abide in Christ (walk in the light) they will dry up, be broken off and burned.

That is what your religion taught you...time for one of those "sacred cows" to be sacrificed in order to see the beauty of the grace of Christ.....He is awesome and we have a great salvation in Him....

That is not true as "abiding in Christ" is an ongoing action not just a state of being !!!

Abiding in Christ means you abide in observing and following what He taught and commanded, and thus His fruit will be produced in us in other words we do what He said.

Those who don't abide will be cut off, gathered, and thrown into the fire to be burned up !!!

Only if you continue in the faith of Jesus Christ, as Apostle Paul shows this clearly in Colossians 1:22-23.
Matthew 13:18-20
King James Version(KJV)

18.)Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.

19.)When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

20.)But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;

Salvation is dependent upon our faith. Do you really believe a person can be saved apart from a living faith?

That's right grace does not teach us to walk in darkness, it teaches us to walk in His righteousness which includes His teachings and commands.

The Holy Spirit is our helper to strengthen us to walk in His ways, but that is what He is a helper not a controller.

We are not puppets that automatically just start walking in His ways because He controls everything we do, we still have choice which is where chastising from the Lord comes in.

Whenever we sin it is because we got drawn away from Him to obey our flesh, He then chastises us to correct us and restore us to walking His path !!!

If you are not chastised when you sin or ignore His chastising then the Word of God says you are not His !!!
I think you are talking about living holy after salvation.

Romans 12:1-2
King James Version(KJV)

1.)I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2.)And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

No that is what the Holy Spirit and the Word of God taught me and says clearly.

Abiding in Christ means your actions will match the faith, it is not just a standing in Christ.

Apostle John shows this clearly in 1 John 2-4 that how we walk will indicate and show if Christ abides in us, and us in Him.

Why did you give only one example and half of another, this parable has 4 examples of how the Word of God is received or not ???

Well sorry you don't believe in that but Jesus gave two teachings of one who was saved and then got lost, and then had to repent to come back.

The parable of the lost sheep and the prodigal son both teach this...........

Being a sheep is indicative of being saved in Christ, and when the sheep got lost because of went after sinful ways Jesus clearly said when He went after the sheep it had to repent to be brought back into the flock.

The prodigal son says he was alive when he was with the Father, but was dead when he left, and that he was not alive again tell he returned to the Father.

The context in this passage of the prodigal son in the Greek is speaking on eternal life and eternal death.

Sheep can get lost !!!

They must repent and be restored to Christ to be back in the flock...........
You will sin In the flesh but you are still GODs child.

This is the problem with now day religions is they put salvation before the walk which completely negates what Jesus said about having to endure and do God's will in our lives first.

The walking in the faith goes hand and hand with the faith in Jesus unto salvation.........

Apostle Paul gives over 20+ scriptures that shows this and how we only receive the promise if we remain in the faith and are not drawn away !!!

I was responding to what you said In post#247
Yeah but you still only gave only part of the parable, and in that parable it does show some that do abide in the faith for a little while and then fall away.

In that parable out of the four groups it only shows one receiving salvation through Christ, yet now day man made doctrines have 3 of them receiving salvation and only one that doesn't. See how that doesn't work because Jesus says only 1 way, yet these doctrines now days say 3 ways. Or they go to extreme the other way and say they never were in the faith to begin with, again not what Jesus said !!!

Do you get chastised when you sin, yes or no ???
After we are reborn we are a member,a member of the body and the body Is of CHRIST and GOD Is light and we are In the body then the blood continuously cleanes us.

Yes God cleanses us internally by giving us a new heart and new mind in placing the Holy Spirit in us, this however does not indicate salvation before the walk.

If it did then again it would make Jesus own words about enduring and doing His will first become lies, and even Hebrews 10:36 says the same thing Jesus did. You have need of endurance so that when you have done the will of God you will receive what was promised !!!

What we are promised is eternal life through Christ, so if endurance and doing God's will is part of being in Christ, then that means continuing in the faith is required as well.

Paul tells the Colossians, “God will present you holy, unblemished, and unblameable—if you continue in the faith.” This sounds like conditional salvation, but it is not.

You are one with the Lord, and what God has joined together, no man can separate. Paul is saying, “In God’s eyes you are already holy and perfect, but you won’t see it unless you believe it. You won’t walk in that truth except by faith.”
You may ask, “How can I believe I am holy when my life is such an unholy mess?”

You can believe it because your life is hidden in Christ and he is holy and unblemished. You have a need for holiness—you can’t get in without it—but the good news is that Jesus meets your need. By his one sacrifice, you have been made holy and perfect forever (Hebrews 10:10, 14).

I know this is a lot to swallow, particularly if you have been raised on a diet of mixture. If you have had old covenant notions of faithfulness drummed into you, it’s hard not to be anxious, especially when you stumble. But Paul’s letter to the Colossians, and particularly chapter 2, is a brilliant response to the fears and anxieties of the insecure believer. Let me give you an example.

One sign that you are not continuing in the faith is that you are more conscious of your lack than you are of the Lord’s supply.

You may think, I’m not holy enough, righteous enough, or fruitful enough. Look at how Paul corrects this misperception:

For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. (Colossians 2:9–10a)

How do you continue in the faith? By recognizing that in Christ you lack no good thing. In Christ you have received every spiritual blessing there is. “In Christ you have been brought to fullness.”

The problem is not your lack but your unbelief. If you pray, “God, please make me righteous and holy,” you are no longer continuing in faith. You are giving voice to unbelief and contradicting his word, which says you are complete in him.

Instead of asking Jesus to do what he’s already done, why not thank him that he’s done it? “Thank you, Jesus, that in you I am as righteous and holy as you are and eternally pleasing to God!”

I do..all the time....for my unbelief in His promises....for sin...for my own self-effort and for my D.I.Y. righteousness/holiness...but I am working with the Holy Spirit to put the knife to the throats of those "sacred cows"..

My Father chastens me with His word!...I love the chastening of the Lord.

I have read it many times and it gives 4 groups, not 2..............

Verse 19) Wayside..............Those who did not understand what they heard

Verses 20-21) Stony...........Those who hear and receives it and endures in the faith for awhile, but falls away because of troubles in life

Verse 22) Thorns..............Those who hear the word but cares about the things of the world more

Verse 23) Good ground........Those who hear, understand, and go and do what it says

Only those of the good ground receive eternal life (kingdom of heaven) !!!

Is that the only way He chastises you.....by the His word ???

I can tell you I have been chastised by Him by more then just His word, as He has allowed the world to come down on me for my mistakes to bring me to correct how I was living. That is part of His chastising in allowing us to pay the consequences for our mistakes.
