Is 42:8 I am the Lord; that is My name. And My glory will I not give to another, neither My praise to graven images. KJV
“I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not give my glory to anyone else, nor share my praise with carved idols. NLT
What is God saying about his glory here and whom will he not give it to? Could he be talking about his Glory (greatness) being given to idols of man or could he be talking about man being his glory and he will not give to another what he gave (will give) to another?
This is a prophecy of the coming of Jesus with salvation and we know that the Glory of the Father is with Jesus the Son. Did Jesus pass that glory on to us which would give this scripture meaning that the Glory of God is given to man through Jesus?
Is this God saying his glory is for him and him alone meaning the Godhead ( Father, Son, Holy Spirit) that this glory is only for them and no idols or humans will receive this.
