A self-proclaimed elder calling the grace of God "garbage." I will make sure to learn sound doctrine from you.
Where did you get that from? Have I said that on the forums?
Of course the "poll" is simply asking if we do not have to confess daily in order to be forgiven of sins or do we need to confess constantly..or "other"
If you add the "we do not have to confess in order to be forgiven ( after coming to Christ )" and the "other"...the both are a clear winner.
In all fairness though..that 1 John 1:9 was a hard one for me to get around "mentally" because of my religious upbringing and traditions.
I asked the Lord about it and then after a series of different teachings from different sources...the Lord brought it together for me....the revelation of it came so clear that now I wonder how in the world I could never see that before. Religious traditions are very hard to overcome because they are engrained in our minds.
But revelation of anything in the scriptures come by this same route. I ask myself these questions..Does it make Jesus bigger?..does it make Jesus' sacrifice for us that much more wonderful and does it exalt His finished work?
If I can answer these questions in the "yes" category then it's good for me! Jesus has in all things the preeminence!

So now you are diminishing the relevance of the poll? The doesnt ask for a daily confession btw.

"When" God chastens us? LOL. As if its a one at a time deal? We sin, God chastens us. We sin, God chastens us? Is that about it?
What you are calling chastening is in actuality discipline. What do you think discipline is? I'll answer it for you, it's training. And we are all in training, and we are all in training all the time.

I have never said I want to hold anything over you. That is a LIE. You have imagined that. I never said I wanted to "speak into your life" either. You need to learn that you dont talk to older people that are old enough to be your mom like you do your homeboys. That is what is wrong with your generation. You have lost that respect my generation and those before me clearly adhered to. We didnt talk to our elders disrespectfully.

Any rebuke is done in love and with the intent of restoration. It is to lead upon the right path. It is the Lord's house and He cares. Look at His heart in the matter, and realize the person you're correcting is His son or daughter. If you're correcting someone, it should be done in the light of His grace, mercy, love and patience. It is not to tear them down but lift them up in order to allow them the same opportunity to be of service (among other reasons). Our correction must be done in love, or we will harden hearts.

Many believers can't fathom God giving us such a wide berth of freedom. They refuse to see God in this generous liberal light. Most of us think the word 'liberal' is even a wrong concept. Some believers cannot fathom we would be called to give up our LONG HELD responsibility of remembering and confessing each sin in order to be forgiven by on our confession...how can we give up that safety valve? Would God really give us such a thing as total forgiveness??? Many believers just cannot see God in this way.
They sincerely believe that verse about no condemnation is being interpreted tooooo widely by these liberal CC Christians who always make salvation soooo easy on themselves., God reallly didn't forgive allllll. It just doesn't sound like GENUINE SORROW and adequately fair for God to 'trust us' that much.
Some Christians have a really hard time with this confident expectation of good from God. It sounds waaaaay too selfish a thing for the Christian to be given by God. We know how awful we are, how could God give us such space for taking advantage of Him, KNOWING how we are!?? How could we think GOD would give us such a HUGE space of freedom????!!!! It's as if its a false gospel., we DARE NOT TAKE IT!!! Like once we step over that line, we will be 'out there' to free for comfort. God just couldn't be giving us this!! It just sounds unlike God.
Yes, from a human standpoint it doesn't sound like God would have us walk in that kind of adulthood in the faith
when God was so definitively far away and HOLY in all and to all those OT Saints. God is not described in a liberal way at all in the OT as some are calling His grace NOW to be. Christians are not familiar with God this way.
