This is christian CHAT. You want christian MINGLE or match.com. Many of the people here are happily single, happily married, or otherwise taken. Some people here met and married, but as a general rule, the site owner did not intend for this to be a dating site. :)

I wouldn't assume this was a dating site. There's no pictures of men and women flashing "click to see" like there is on match.com or e-harmony..lol

To answer the question in your topic title, "Wait, does this thing work?" Yes it does, or at least it works for the intended purpose. This is a forum for people to hang out and chat about whatever interests them.

To answer the opening post... well, others have already answered that quite clearly. :rolleyes:

I prefer short walks on the beach because I don't like sand.

This is why you *general you* need to be very careful regarding getting to know someone on the internet as a friend or as a potential dating partner.

If you look at the guy's age, you will notice that he is 45 years old... Old enough to be your father.

Pretty obvious it was a joke. Who goes to the beach but hates sand? What puppy doesn't pee everywhere? And when's the last time liking poptarts attracted a woman?

I've made a lot of friends on the internet, and dated a few as well. I have met some great people online. So perhaps the ever cynical attitude about every single person online isn't really the way to go.
Just remember *you* are are online and therefore one of those people you are talking down about.
