I don't like flying. I used to fly all the time but haven't done so in 20 years.
Yeah, same here. I have flown so many times and I still get very jittery.

crosstweed, those caterpillars gave me the super-creeps!!

See, I'm more the opposite. I can handle cockroaches fine, but I'd much rather deal with caterpillars. I kind of like them. Except asps. Those things HURT!

I think pretty much everyone has them... What are you irrationally afraid of?

I like snakes, spiders, lizards... it's all good for me. But I, for one, am irrationally afraid of Indian Gharials. Nature does not normally frighten me, and it's not like I would never, ever go near one...

BUT JUST LOOK AT IT:

(Perfectly harmless, of course. They eat fish and frogs; at their very worst they could puncture your arm and you could bleed to death, or perhaps drag you underwater and drown you, but overall quite harmless.)
Of course its scary, it's a swimming hedge trimmer... the thought of doing yardwork can be terrifying!

I can't go more than ankle deep in the ocean. I tried to go farther once and I almost had a panic attack. I just kept thinking of all the things with sharp teeth that live in the water. I can afford to lose a toe but not my whole leg or turso.

Aww, I think caterpillars look cute. Then again we only got the Wooly Bears really up here, and they're not venomous...at least I think they aren't.

Just kind of an interesting pointless trivia fact. Vermillion (a city in Ohio) has a wooly bear festival every year and the local weatherman Dick Goddard is a big wooly bear fanatic. Local legend has it one can predict the severity and duration of the winter by the length of the orange band around their waist, lol but idk about that, learned a long time a go Ohio weather is unpredictable.

Mine would be something happening to me before my kids are able to be totally on their own. There is nobody else in the family who could take them in and support them.

The other is my future, having to work until I drop dead over my keyboard because I have less than $5,000 in my 401K at almost 60 years of age and no sign that anything else better is coming into my life.

LOL And you actually should be scared of these guys... some of those hairs are actually poisonous spines disguised as hairs. I accidentally smacked a tree limb with my hand in my garden one time and there was a green one hiding on the branch... my first thought was that I'd just smacked the branch really hard (it felt at first like that sensation when you get smacked really hard by a thin branch), but then it almost instantly started stinging and I was like "Thorns! No, wasps!" and a whole dotted trail of little welts formed on my wrist. It did sort of feel like multiple wasp stings, so I went into the house and slathered it in Benadryl (life saver, that stuff is) and showed it to my dad because there was no way that was a wasp sting. He suggested it might be an asp. So I went back out there to check and sure enough... the little beastie was out there, trying to make a getaway. So much for that...

I felt one crawling down my back!!
LOL In Dallas when I was a kid there was this specific kind of blue and orange caterpillar that would absolutely cover the trunks of the oak trees... hundreds of them. I remembered I thought they were the softest things in the world, and I would pull 20 or 30 of them off the tree at a time and feel them crawl out of my hands... Nobody's ever felt their skin REALLY crawl until they've tried THAT! xD

I usually think they're cute, too, GIS, but I've decided asps are something I'll admire from a distance or with gloves on LOL
I'm pretty sure wooly bears are venomous, but perhaps they're easier to handle that some of the others... I do think those are pretty cute, though.

:O :O :O CUTE?! They're just hairy. Pretending to be innocent little creatures. I'm googling ugly caterpillars before I even thought about it... bad move! But see this? It's got horns!! They're of the devil.

Horns are not evidence! Look at this rat! He has a horn...

Okay, enough about caterpillars. :p

I used to be afraid of slugs. But after I ate a few of them, that fear is gone.

Moral of the story - if you fear something, eat it.

I can relate to this. (except I don't have kids)

If I was on a giant plane with a huge amount of people and it was also a hospital, I'd be stuffed. Nope, nope, nope!
So if they ever have to airlift you somewhere with a large medical crew for better treatment, well you might just die of a panic attack before you arrive for treatment.

Money. I think I'm afraid of money because I never have any.
Maybe money is afraid of you.

I have an irrational fear of losing my teeth. I've never even had a cavity but I've had countless dreams where I'm losing all my teeth and it leaves me waking up in a panic.

My dentist says I brush too hard, but I have all the incentive in the world to make sure they are clean. :D
