True, that, but I mean the discounted NICE chocolates... even Lindor is an iffy stretch for me. I'm a hardcore ritzy dark chocolate purist xD

at first i thought this thread was gonna be about tax refund season :D which is one of the best times of the year. China celebrates a singles day, saw it on the news not to long ago, people spend money on themselves and enjoy the day to themselves. From what i understand it is one of the biggest shopping days of the year online for them. I kinda wish we had that holiday here.

St. Valentine - Saints & Angels - Catholic Online

Happy Holiday ("Holy Day" taken from our largely Catholic heritage) celebrating the much debated St. Valentine!!

Now, what about couples and singles and chocolate and all that?? Oh wait, we celebrate something in a way other than its origin? Psh...no duh! When have we ever celebrated something based entirely on its origin and tradition??

Now...about those homemade chocolates from my earlier post...

Ladies...are any of you bakers? ...because Japanese culture also has an certain idea underpinning that tradition of 'obligatory' chocolates for those unfortunate male friends who have not received any from a love interest...

Well that's as good as valentine's candy gets around here. And it's hard to find even that. They must have better stuff where you live.

This is the one, single, only drawback to living out here in southwest TN. There are a lot of good things about living here, but I do miss having a ready source for gourmet chocolate.

I like spring and fall. Not too cold, not too hot. I can handle cold better than too hot. Worked in hot factories all my life before the stroke. I can't handle heat now, AC is my best friend!

"My heart is so hidden in 'after-valentine's-day-sale' chocolates that a woman has to eat a box of Godiva and wear this chocolate outfit to find me..."

...some of the guys seemed a bit apprehensive though... I wanted to say, "It's just a rose, not a marriage proposal!" :p Lucky for them, I left my "Just In Case" emergency wedding dress at home that day.
I know I would have been creeped out...just sayin'
