It's to love God, and all good actions we do are a reflection of the love of God and his love towards us =)

ok yes everyone does use faith for something but if you jus belive your car will be fine and safe does it mean that it is safe and with the sun we know how it rises through science its a natural thing
so we except it to rise and if one day we are all in darkness it either mean everything has stoped moving or the sun turned into a white drawf very very quickly.

now of course haveing a little faith in yourself or others its not a bad thing it shows self confidence to well and trust in others but reali ing on something purley on the concept of faith is a bad thing i tell you example its a true story as far as im aware (it will be a quick version).

" A woman got cancer and is in need of chemotheorpy but she refuses to go why becuase she belives in this preist who has healing hands and he told her he can cure her cancer through the power which god gave him so she had faith in him to cure her, other the weeks she said she felt better and at one point she was told by the priest the cancer was gone. unfortnatly tho this was just a placibo effect she belived she felt better but in reality she was still ill and still had cancer. 2 weeks later she died."

so basically this woman put all her faith her trust in this one man which led to her death.

now you can say the same for religion you join because u want to show your a good person and dont want to go to her you have nothing to go on but your faith so you belive your making good happy and your going to heaven but in reality there are so many different religions and branches of those religion the chances are your following the wrong one and your proberly are gona go to hell also in relaity of historical facts says the earth is older than the bible says that is reality.

pushing that aside yes i can see how religion can be a good thing it can make people feel happy not alone and loved but again this is just a placibo effect and as soon as the goods the concicense can be minor or major but at the end of the day i rather take a cure than a placibo

I never said I was good or bad for any reason, I just said it doesn't have a point when you live and die for no purpose. I try to be good because it delights my Lord, I have morality, He commands me to, and I enjoy being righteous. Having presents in heaven have very little to do with that (think of it like a bonus). Righteousness is us acting like our God, that wells up from the appreciation and thanksgiving we feel towards the finished work of Christ.

God is a jealous God (jealousness isn't a sin when you're Holy, its the same as calling Him righteous...I'm sure you'll knock that and not understand but just run with me on this one), He really loves to spend time with His people and when they dont there is consequences. Murdering God lol! He created why can't he take away? This is the "fair" issue again that you seem to hold on to with dear life . Yeah, He takes peoples lives but to be fair He created them also. And you ignored the reasoning behind being a righteous God and being an unfair God: He can't tollerate sin. That's why He's "unfair" to you. Its your fault not His, so stop blaming Him.

As far as being mean to other people who aren't Christians- now that's completely not true! There are a ton of people who aren't Christian who are blessed: just look at all the millionares in Hollywood, all the successful and loving people who live in suberbs...whereas there are Christian people who have to work 3 jobs to get the food on the table and die from cancer everyday. People are people and we're all treated unfairly. The difference between us all is how we deal with it.

We in and of ourselves have 0 ability to heal anyone.......period. When you cut your finger, it bleeds, right? And (hopefully) it stops in a short time (due to clotting factors in your blood)......Then within a few days, it heals completely, and goes away. Unless it is a major GASH, AND BREAKS ALL 7 LAYERS OF TISSUE, then it will eventually heal, but will have a scar evident......right? Ok, so, now I ask you, how does this occur...........?

What causes our bodies to heal themselves............? SOMETIMES...........? When a person is at peace, is loved, loving others, not stressed, not anxious all the time........THE BODY IS AT REST...........THE MEDICAL TERM IS CALLED HOMEOSTASIS...........OR AT PEACE.

Actually God has answers for all of your questions Zavok:

This is from 1 John chapter 2:
4He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
6He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

So there are plenty of people in this world who say "I am a Christian" but God says they aren't Christians at all. This is how satan and evil men under his employ have corrupted Christianity, by making it look bad.

Paul the Apostle in the Bible warns about this. He says that there are people who enter the churches and pretend to be Christian, but really aren't. Even people in this forum who claim to be Christians are here for an evil motive.

This is from the Book of Acts chapter 20:
29For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
30Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
31Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

Hey. I just wanted to jump in here. Honestly, I would say that if we all look deep within ourselves we will see that we are motivated to do things by two simple reasons:

1. self-interest
2. because it is habitual and thus one of our 'conscious ticks'

We can even see #1 when we help another person. Want to jump in front of a bullet for someone? Well, that's motivated by self-interest (if it's not, I can assure you it's motivated by number two). We couldn't live with ourselves if we didn't take a hit for that person or if we didn't die for them. You want to buy a little child ice cream? That's motivated by self-interest. You want to see the smile on their face because it makes you happy. We always get something in return for what we do. Otherwise our actions would be motivated by #2. We can see an example of this second point when we hold a door open for a stranger. We were taught by ritual, by rote, by correction to do such a thing. Sometimes we don't even get anything out of it, but we still do it. Why? Because it's become more or less a part of us as eating with silverware and a plate instead of your face has become (hopefully?).

None of our deeds are selfless except those which have been so ingrained in us they have become second nature. This is my belief not only for unbelievers but for Christians as well, including myself. So I can't really agree when you say that you can perform selfless acts from a charitable heart. I also don't agree that you believe Christians' motives are governed by two things: to impress God and to avoid hell. I've heard this argument before and it just doesn't stick. Why? Well, think of it this way: I don't make my bed to avoid being spanked. I'm 23. I'd like to see someone try it. In the same way I don't do good deeds to avoid retribution from God. I may follow that line of thought sometimes, because I am still tempted and believe in a righteous God. However, I do not adhere to that reasoning all of the time.
