That's a great question, and a great question to open a can of worms. I was reading something today along the same lines about repentance. I think it's abundantly clear we are responsible for making a choice, a proper response to the Holy Spirit. Might do a thread about something similar, though not feeling quite that sadistic, at the moment.

I for one would like to see the similar thread and It may very well be sadistic to some,but If It sheds light then It would be beneficial to all who can hear/understand.:)

Agree, in the sense the Holy Spirit draws and convicts, but there are those who claim man is simply void of any part in the process. You see, surprisingly, a lot of this, which concludes salvation is the Lord, as if, reprogramming some robots He arbitrarily decides are worthy of the spiritual "good stuff." I think it springs from hyper-Calvinism, that seems to be dying the slowest of deaths.
 
Here is faith as I understand it. Before I was saved I had faith God was real but I didn't have faith in him, when I was saved I had faith I was saved I had faith and joy in him but I didn't have the kind of faith I have now.

I do not have the kind of faith to pray for something and believe without doubt that I will receive it but I do have total faith in God to show me the way to go and to make me strong like him. I think there is different kinds of faith, human faith is believing in something and going to great lengths for that belief even terrorists will gladly die for their cause believing they will go into heaven but the faith that comes from God produces fruit. There was a time when I was going through a terrible storm it gave no indication that this storm would ever pass and I was bombarded with doubts and thoughts that I may lose my faith or that I am becoming lukewarm very discouraging thoughts and doubts but in the midst of this storm and all these doubts i said to God I choose to trust in you, I choose to blindly believe that you and I will not only make it through this storm but we will come out of it stronger and closer than before.

in a terrible storm in life and being bombarded by such doubts and fears from the devil not only is it very hard to simply trust God but to have blind faith in him in the midst of it all. This was a time when I learned what blind faith is and this faith produced fruits it didn't just get me through. Faith from the human heart can give one peace of mind in the face of death can make one willing to die for a cause but faith that comes from God can make the impossible possible

True. It would be a hard thread to write, without seeming to imply some elevation of man that wouldn't be the case, but would rub some this way, I fear.
 
and there is always the chance to get one of these from the so-called brethren...lol

Yes, it can be proven by a lot of scripture, even sheer reason and the objective nature of human life, but there are some who will never see this. The discussion can turn into a real mess, which would never, otherwise, happen around here, of course.
