I bet this thread title will turn up a lot in Thread Mash-Ups.

Many have said a couple is meant to function as a unit, with one partner supplying what the other lacks. In other words, a husband and wife are to complement each other - complement, not compliment (although a compliment now and then would be nice) - to supply the skills the other needs in life. What do you think you lack that a spouse might supply?

NOTE: If you think you lack nothing then you are perfect and you don't exist. Nobody is perfect. :p

For myself the most noticeable lack is in people skills. I'm terrible with people. If I ever do get married I hope she's good at talking to people.
I'm also lacking in the emotions department. I have emotions but I'm bad with other people's. I'm more analytical. Tell me about a problem and I'll try to solve it. If you just need sympathy I'm not the person to talk to. This probably contributes to me being bad with people.
I'm also somewhat impatient. I can kill time with the best of them, but if there is something to be done let's do it. Assuming I ever marry I really hope she's better at this than I.

So, what you're saying is...what you're asking for is... the *missing lynx*?

Well, despite all my inconsistently continuous self-scrutiny, reflection, analysis, introspection, and the like... I was never really any good at pointing out my own strengths and/or weaknesses.

Once, when 'talking' with a certain girl, she wanted to know what the best qualities I had were...the 'strengths' I would bring to a relationship. Honestly, I was so completely completely clueless as how to answer this question that I had to ask my mother, best friend, and ex-girlfriend turned friend at the time what they thought about it. I took the mode of their answers as my response to said girl.

The connection is missing. People who understand each other on a deeper level dont need words at all. The message get through the other just by looking at each other. But once that is lost, their hearts will not and cannot listen to each other thats why they keep shouting because its very difficult to hear.

Well I mean as believers, we're given, or at the very least offered enough to survive with out a spouse. As for marriage and having an other, I think the benefits come into play when you both are attempting to bring up a family. You got two holding down the unit instead of just one. But regarding the feeling that I might be lacking anything, only thing I can think of is just having someone there. I don't think anyone can deny how pleasant that can be to have someone with you. But yeah, I don't really do anything that jeopardizes my relationship with people in general to the point I'd need someone to be there to assist or correct me. Lol at least I hope not.

That's very hard to have with a man. Takes years. I have that with my brother. I love it to not have to explain things and someone simply gets it.

Me.. i'm lack on "think twice before trusting people"
I'm easy to trust people even if i just meet them.. I always think of them as my bro/sist immediately -_-

I'm glad that my best friend always give me a piece of their mind (they will gave me lot of what if what if questions) so i can think twice.. even there are times i'm stubborn (mostly) and wont listen :p and this is i hope i can get from my future partners if not thats ok too :D

i cant refilled my gas stove too!!! I hope he will do that for me.. lol!!

Honestly i'm a bit afraid with the idea getting partners.. of course i want to.. but what if today he is on fire with God and in the next few years he will turn his back from God?? Human heart are easy to change.. just because someone is Christian now doesn't mean he will in the future.. thats why i will only trust God to choosing for me because He know deep inside human heart, and as for our weakness/lack on some point i'm not really hope my future partner can accept me as me or complete/support me in someway but i just hope there is a good communication between us, tolerance, and understand.. if he can fill the lack on me and help me thats good, if not thats ok too :D as long as we both have the same foundation in God ;)

 what i'm talking about   sorrry for blabbering here >_<

I would agree with this one. Sure, im a little jaded but for the length of time it has been, I do believe I am good without someone there. LOL Plus, if "She" corrects me, she had better be right... this can cause a whole slew of problems LOL I am a fully functioning adult. I don't need a counterpart. I have 4 kids that I raise just fine on my own. I thought, for a short while, that maybe they needed a female adult in the house. After a short ponderance, I laughed and thought "Yea, great for them, but I don't want a female in the house". LOL

I have so much more space (this includes closet and drawer space) LOL. And I really don't want some woman coming in and thinking that she is to be responsible for them in any way shape or form. They have a mother. She can tend to those motherly things when they are with her.

Im sorry, but even with kids, I simply see no reason to have someone else there. It would almost be more of a distraction than a help. The only thing that's missing.... Well, I am out of Dr. Pepper. :)

Yes its not easy. That's why it must be valued like crystal, it is very fragile. Sometimes we become clumsy in our relationships we take people for granted. I think that is missing ingredient, the consistency and commitment to make it last.

Lol A lot of that made me laugh, sounds like you're enjoying the space. Nothing wrong with that at all.

But yeah I feel like I should clarify, I'm not saying I'm perfect or anything, it's just the main reason why I would want a wife is for the love and her presence. At the same time I'd like to think I can conduct myself in the world without a wife.

If
There's anyone I can trust to do that with objective honesty...

But honestly... Most everybody is relatively subjective in their assessments, so I may just be the type who seeks and aks for the impossible. Nonetheless, I still believe that 'ought' is possible, and that 'idealism' is not just a cynic and skeptics' word for Optomism. I think a lot of us in the world are just a little too jaded.
