I bet this thread title will turn up a lot in Thread Mash-Ups.
Many have said a couple is meant to function as a unit, with one partner supplying what the other lacks. In other words, a husband and wife are to complement each other - complement, not compliment (although a compliment now and then would be nice) - to supply the skills the other needs in life. What do you think you lack that a spouse might supply?
NOTE: If you think you lack nothing then you are perfect and you don't exist. Nobody is perfect.
For myself the most noticeable lack is in people skills. I'm terrible with people. If I ever do get married I hope she's good at talking to people.
I'm also lacking in the emotions department. I have emotions but I'm bad with other people's. I'm more analytical. Tell me about a problem and I'll try to solve it. If you just need sympathy I'm not the person to talk to. This probably contributes to me being bad with people.
I'm also somewhat impatient. I can kill time with the best of them, but if there is something to be done let's do it. Assuming I ever marry I really hope she's better at this than I.
