I mean it, I have 2 boys, and I honestly couldn't imagine being in your position. We can absolutely agree that He CAN help, and is the ONLY one that can or is the ONLY place to turn in these times. I would have had no idea you were going through this now, and though I really would feel the same about what I believe and have said on here, knowing this would have probably changed the tone of some of my comments the last week or so. This has actually taught me a new lesson through His Spirit in me and you. That maybe we can spend a little less time arguing doctrine and pointing fingers at each other (not that that stuff doesn't matter or anything crazy like that) and a little more time trying to get to know each other better and lifting each other up and supporting them with prayer and in love. I know what we believe is important and I would never make light of it, but we are in the middle of real life and people are going through real things, and this faceless internet makes it too easy to cast stones without ever even know the person at all.

I am so sorry about your son and I WILL pray for him and you guys as well. Man this really was an eye opener for me, I thank you for sharing and praise God for teaching me something very important I wasn't even thinking about. Have a nice weekend.

I agree the teaching of "being rich in Christ and in being redeemed from the curse of the law" needs to be qualified....as many can go off on their own lusts...usually baby Christians....God is not opposed to His children having "things"..He is opposed to "things" having His children.

There are phoney preachers telling Christians that being poor physically is a sign of being "spiritual"..which is a load of religious garbage...

God's grace abundantly supplies...but it is for a good reason..

The originator of our denomination tells a story of his first time in a "church." He had studied the Bible with his wife, and finally decided to attend a "real" service.

He watched all the "goings on" and eventually asked one of the ushers: "When do we get to do it?"

"Do what?" the usher asked.

John said, "You know... all those things in the Bible." "The healings and the miracle and stuff."

The usher replied, "Oh we don't do any of those things." "We believe they happened back then, but we don't expect them to happen today." "That stuff is for when you get to Heaven"


I may have his exact words wrong, but that was the drift. John was shocked. He said, "When I worked for the Devil, I got to do his work......"



Willie, this is sort of where it begins for me. Do we dare to believe in the face of all opposition and earth's tragic and confusing realities - that we as sons must individually relate to our Father? Are we called as (individual) sons in our (individual) situations to believe and walk in faith and not by sight? Believing that irregardless of what every one of our 5 senses declares as fact.., (and what we see others going through) we will INSTEAD believe He will take care of us?

Faith is when we stop our common way of looking at the physical evidence around us. This especially and most importantly includes our own unworthiness. It's NOT about our worthiness or what people say is spiritual. It's that sort of wrong thinking that cuts us OFF at our knees and stops our faith.

I remember a verse and it applies..... "Looking AWAY.... TO JESUS..."

I like this post, but the reality is the world is against us, ISIS is against us. Christians get killed, slaughtered, persecuted all the time. The body of Christ is never promised wealth, health, and prosperity here on this earth. The absence of health, the absence of wealth is not an indicator of spirituality or one's faith. I'm not promised to be rescued in this earthly life. I've got Christ. I am justified. I am glorified. It has been determined that I will be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ. What shall we say then to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? Yea, and all that will live godlly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.


This is when it gets tough. What is the reality? Is it the world is against us, ISIS is against us.,Christians get killed, slaughtered, persecuted all the time.... This is the time that makes it rough on our 5 senses. What is OUR reality as sons of God? How are we to relate to these situations?

We are called to individually look AWAY to Jesus. For each one of us that is our personal calling. If you are here in the U.S. or some other part of the world. If you are sick or healthy., If the bombs are going off., whatever situation we find ourselves in we are called as sons to look away to Jesus - now.

The promises are for now; but without - looking AWAY to Jesus....can we even hope to see by faith and not by sight? And can we even hope to begin the amazing journey of learning HOW to walk by faith and not by sight???

Anyhow, a walk of faith often faces this...

Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Of whom the world was not worthy, they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
(Heb 11:35-39)

So those preachers that promise that all 'christians should be healthy and wealthy, and if they are not they are living the devil's lie'... those preachers ARE LIARS.

I agree...standing in Christ is paramount. Some places have been granted "peace" in order to help spread the gospel around the world. Some times in history some have died defending the faith...other times the Lord has granted peace to a nation. They go hand in hand.

The world is definitely against us and always will be. Our Father wants peace for us in this life but sometimes the sword comes. It's not a matter of either or...it's a matter of what comes to us. Sometimes we will die for our faith. Sometimes we will "live" in our faith in peace....there are times and seasons for both it seems...

Thy kingdom come Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.


So often different posts from different Christians really resonates to my heart. The same truth the Holy Spirit has shown me is also here to read from another believer. I don't know Grace777 personally but what he says here I also see in these few simple words; It's not a matter of either or...it's a matter of what comes to us.

Too often and actually most of the time we are battling our fears of something being one way or the other. Which will it be today?? What will come to us??? And what do we base our answer on? Do we even have an answer? Should we even have an answer? Do we even know??

In light of all those mysterious possibilities what would be in our best interests to do? For me as I go through my own life's path, the only solid reasonable answer that works is to LOOK AWAY TO JESUS.

His children should always call out to Him for provision, for health. We should call out to Him in hard times and in times of plenty. Prayer is believing that our God hears us, and because He hears us, He has all authority to act if He so chooses. But we have to understand our real blessings guaranteed us are spiritual blessings kept in store in the heavenly places.



And when we call out to Him., do we have an good expectation of being heard and even granted our need and petition from our loving Father? Who is the One who told us individually to come to Him., in faith believing.., that He loves us and has given us all things pertaining to life and godliness? Do we even know what He has given us based on our own understanding of His love for us?

When one of the apostles I think it was Peter questioned Jesus about what He was doing with (I think it was John), Jesus said basically it was none of his business. What Jesus was doing with one was not what He was doing with another.

Just how important is it for us to have an intimate personal walk with Jesus for our every day life? How important is it to our faith to have that secret place no one else has? And why did God make us this way? Why did He make us individuals - self aware, and why does He want us so much to relate to Him personally?

I don't know what context this is given in....context is always key......but sickness and poverty are curses for sure...check out Deut 28

I believe that God wants us to be healthy and to have an abundance in order to be a blessing to others...as per the scriptures I provided..

and yes some of the Old Testament people did have much trouble on this earth..and in the same token there were those in the Old Testament that had great blessings...like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, David , Solomon and whole host of other people...

Are your enemies going to be in Heaven? Not very likely.
What is "a table SPREAD before you?" That just might possibly be a good thing.

And it is all going to happen HERE "in the presence of your enemies."



Amen Willie., God bless you for witnessing how God is for us and not against us!! It's not in the heavenlies alone., but for now as well. Now is the time we learn about His love for us as we walk this path of life and He walks with us. This is how we are first learning about His faithfulness to us. He gives us DAILY examples of His hand in our lives. But we won't see those evidences if we are not daring to believe or to even ask. He has told us we have not because we ask not.

Often Christians are afraid to ask and be disappointed. We are scared He won't give us what we need and that disappointment would be adding to the burden we feel already. (see already we are doubting and even guessing God's next move) So we steer clear of asking specifically with any expectation or faith believing..,because we don't want to get hurt or dismayed.

Here we go again looking at people around us..judging..., those who did not get healed OR those who died OR those who have more than us., OR those who are better than us (in our estimation not being the Almighty who knows all) OR those who have less than us yet are more deserving than us...(again we are second guessing the Almighty) Seriously., are 'we' called to do this guessing game? do we have the knowledge of God to even judge someone elses relationship with God? And to do so enough to relate it all back to how we believe God will deal with us?? NOOOO.

We are called to look AWAY TO JESUS.

Our son is being treated for brain and spine cancer. He's #5 of 7 children, so it's a pretty crazy time for us.

Here's how we look at the situation and how we've been led to proceed:

We believe that God can and does heal people every day. We know that people die from sickness and injuries every day. We know that God often uses doctors to heal people (we were led to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital) - and often goes where medicine cannot. And we are praying, as are so many others, that God will heal our son.

We have all heard, "We'll pray that God's will be done", and I thought about the passages that talk about God's will for us in Christ and looked them up and it's really interesting. In the Scriptures after the Cross God's will is:

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (from 1 Thessalonians 5)


40 " For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”
( - Jesus, from John 6)



9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (from 2 Peter 3)



10 His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, 11 according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. 12 In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. 13 I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory.

God's will is that we know Him. Our son knows God and God knows our son - our son believes in Jesus and His Work on our behalf, so God's will has already been done in our son's life. Our prayer is of course that our son's life would be nice and long, but if it isn't, God is still good, and God is still faithful. And after life is lived, long or short, we have this promise:


"[He] I will raise him up on the last day."


So we pray - confident in a God Who can and does heal - yet choosing to trust Him, no matter the outcome.

Through this journey we're on, God has provided for ALL of our needs through His Body. We are so thankful for those who are willing to be the hands and feet of God and are loving and serving us well during this time.

Dear sis, And you are living through the very things some of us fear., or wonder or have worried deeply about. Your son, you and your husband and family are walking through places where the rubber meets the road kind of faith. No time for fake little pleasantries of religious words or phrases.. Like in a way I'm guessing at times you guys get through the day by the seats of your pants. But am also believing you have the secret place based on your posts and your words of faith and hope and the fact you have survived to tell about it.

But am also guessing you have seen God's hand in a zillion places and situations and people and doctors since you guys first started walking this path of your son's cancer with Jesus. You guys know first hand about LOOKING AWAY TO JESUS when your son is being treated for brain and spine cancer. You guys know better than any of us about the discipline to keep looking AWAY TO JESUS continually one day at a time. Especially going through this knowing it from a human reasoning standpoint. You are a woman that talks about the grace of God all the time too. And how we have to keep knowing it's by Jesus righteousness that we have any claim to the promises.

I love the promises you posted;

I can only speak to my experiences but when I'm seeing Jesus and grace, my problem is not magnified even though it is sore real. Even though my problem is still with me it's not magnified and the hope to keep on believing is given just at the time it seems like I'm weak and drained to the end. Then all of the sudden it's filled to the top again!! That is what I believe is the Holy Spirit ministering to me as Jesus told us in John.

John 7:38-39 He who believes in me, as the Scripture said, from his innermost being (belly) shall flow rivers of living water. But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

So we have this Spirit in us now because we are in the new covenant of grace. And just when it's like we don't have any more strength, it's there. This is how I know it's not me., and the touch of the Holy Spirit is for now tiny glimpses of the fullness of God and yet it fills to over flowing!!. How much more is there to come??!!!!!!! Thank you for sharing what you are going through. It was a reminder I needed again to pray for your son and you and your family JGIG. You and Joidevivre both give such uplifting posts I often forget you are going through the things you both are. love lynn

We know that God often uses doctors to heal people (we were led to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital) - and often goes where medicine cannot. And we are praying, as are so many others, that God will heal our son.

We have all heard, "We'll pray that God's will be done", and I thought about the passages that talk about God's will for us in Christ and looked them up and it's really interesting. In the Scriptures after the Cross God's will is:

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (from 1 Thessalonians 5)


40 " For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”
( - Jesus, from John 6)



9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (from 2 Peter 3)



10 His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, 11 according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. 12 In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. 13 I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory.

14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name.

16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (from Ephesians 3)



God's will is that we know Him. Our son knows God and God knows our son - our son believes in Jesus and His Work on our behalf, so God's will has already been done in our son's life. Our prayer is of course that our son's life would be nice and long, but if it isn't, God is still good, and God is still faithful. And after life is lived, long or short, we have this promise:


"[He] I will raise him up on the last day."


So we pray - confident in a God Who can and does heal - yet choosing to trust Him, no matter the outcome.

Through this journey we're on, God has provided for ALL of our needs through His Body. We are so thankful for those who are willing to be the hands and feet of God and are loving and serving us well during this time.

Buried in this verse is a lie

"Jesus gave you a blood-bought right to an abundant life full of meaning and purpose! He gave you a blood-bought right to walk in divine health all the days of your life! He gave you a blood-bought right to His supply even when the economy goes down!"

Paul is saying nothing can separate us from the love of God. Even if we are killed, have no money, have no health, have no friends, are abandoned and alone, washed up in the eyes of the world, we are in Christ, God love us and we love Him.

What you see here is the doctrine of demons, the promise of hell, a wealth and health plan delivered by satan himself.

If you bow to this health plan you bow to the enemy. When Jesus was tempted three things were said
1. Turn these rocks in bread
2. If you hurt yourself God will send angels to save you
3. If you bow down a worship me, I will give you the wealth of nations.

And Jesus answer
1. Man does not live by bread alone but by ever word the proceeds from the mouth of God.
2. Do not test the Lord your God.
3. Thou shalt worship God alone.

Too long have people listened to seduction and lies wrapped up in christian words. If you want to believe spiritual power above the Kingdom of God and love from the heart, your way to hell will be paved with gold.
You have a beef with name it and claim Peter, not grace.

I am pretty sure that the folks that I line up with grace on this forum are "healers", "tongues", "God doesn't want you sick(physically)" and that ALL the gifts of the Spirit are active. Not me.

We have the word, His problem solving devices for our lives, and we go through sickness,problems,distress to GLORIFY Him. Not to get out of the problem.

Its not the problem that is the "problem".......It is how we solve the problem. And to wimp out and not figure out how to solve the problem and just pray for the end of it...........is failure in Gods plan.

We don't pray to get out the suffering, we use HIS solutions to get through the suffering.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you agree with the statement that 'those preachers are liars who preach that Christians should be healthy and wealthy and if those Christians are not they are living the devil's lie.'

Yes He is. Is this not almost too wonderful to consider. Meditating upon this truth is so incredibly uplifting, though none deserve it, it is true, amen.

With God for us, who can stand against us? Everything is going to be just fine because of His Gift to us all. Blessed be JesusChrist, our Salvation, amen.

To say that people that are not healthy and wealthy are of the devil or living with him in some form or other is most definitely a wrong statement. I have said 3 times now that God wants us well and to have an abundance to be a blessing for others ..

....and people that say God has ceased the gifts of the Holy Spirit are liars as well. Do you agree with this statement?

Let me ask you a question...do you believe God make us sick?...that He wants us sick..for some reason..like to "teach" us things?

Amen..in all things God is to be glorified because of who He is... ( one aspect of the word glory is to "speak well of " )

We are not going to flow through life on a "flowery bed of ease"...

My personal look at the trials of life that come to all of us because we are in a fallen world and we have an enemy....is this:

It is not the trial itself that makes us strong ; it's our responses in those trials that makes us strong. God wants us to respond with faith in His love for us in every situation.

I have found for my own life that when I have had an absence of peace it was an indication that I am elevating the circumstance over the answer - which is knowing the love and grace of God in the face of Jesus my Lord within that situation.

Worry for me is a picture in my mind of my future without thinking about God being Himself in the situation with me.

I don't believe that God is asking me to persist in any circumstance - but He is asking me to persist in who He is to me and what He says about that circumstance and in knowing who I am now in Christ because of His finished work in every situation.

So, I "name and claim" ( if that is a real term ) what God says to me in every situation about His nature and faithfulness to me manifested in the grace and love of my Lord Jesus Christ.
