That's very dangerous advice. Jesus himself was tempted by Satan. Every Christian is tempted to sin by him, and many are attacked in other ways.

"Your enemy the devil prowls around like aroaring lion looking for someone to devour."

Satan can oppress a Christian. You'd have to read the tread,I gave the link. Being tempted is not being possessed. Satan cannot attack a Christian. You are under the blood. He can only oppress. Satan has no authority in the life of a Christian.

Kayla, is there scripture that upholds your comment about christians not being able to be demon-possessed? I've always believed that ANYONE can be demon possessed, or at least influenced by, the devil if they're in a certain situation and they give in to the despair and fear that satan likes to beset us with. Fear is satan's tool and he throws it at all of us, christians AND unbelievers alike. He dances with glee when we are desperate and afraid and give in to it, or at least open the door a crack or two..

I haven't seen an influx of the types of peeps you're referring to so much as I've seen an outflux of some of the regulars on here (some of which I miss a bit). Maybe it's this disproportion that makes things seem the way they are.

But yeah, chat has a propensity to attract the worst and the strangest.
I think in Bible Discussion people just get tired of the same-o same-o, I mean how many times can you talk about OSAS?

I use to use the chat rooms when I first started but there were so many men breaking in on the conversation I had to stop. One guy started to talk and I said I was married and wasn't interested in chatting. He kept asking if we could hug. So I just stopped. But Ive just been noticing a more rude tone around here lately and having to defend yourself all the time. I hope these people move on quickly.

What? I'm really sorry you ran into such a jerk!

What's the difference? I agree that a Christian who is leading a correspondingly Christian life cannot (at least I can't imagine it being possible) become possessed. However he can oppress, as you said, and to me that's the same as attacking, isn't it? Might just be a confusion of terms.

Well there is no Scripture I know of that talks of a Christian being possessed. Someone may prove me wrong...

Humm oppress vs attack. I think the devil can work on your mind,he can trick you. But I dont see in the Bible where a demon can attack, physically,or possess a Christian.

Paul called his thorn in the flesh a 'messenger of Satan' (2 Corinthians 12:7). What I don't see in the Bible is that a demon "can't" attack or possess a Christian, so it is an argument from silence. We need to take what is there and make sense of it, rather than trying to defend a point for which there is no scripture.

I personally know more than one Christian who attempted suicide. I would have to suggest that they were, at least temporarily, possessed. I don't like the word; I prefer terms like or 'influenced' or 'deceived' because they allow all the same effects, without this semantic volleying as to whether it is possible.

But Paul was not possessed.Once again, there is no Scripture where demons were cast out of born again believers.

I'm not talking about all newbie CC members. But is it just me or are we suddenly an influx of some of the rudest, weirdest people here lately? Weird threads that ramble, you have no idea where they are going. Is it just me or is there a change here at CC?
I suspect they are related, if not out-and-out the same person with multiple accounts. (We are talking spiritual wives, right?) Just a gut feeling. But, hey, I don't think it's Jack. (Probably because I really don't know Jack in the literal sense. lol)

LOL. You got that right!

I use to work with the public a lot and there were days when it seemed like we got a lot of crazies coming by. I'd check the calendar and sure enough it was a full moon!
You should try the midnight to 8 AM on a helpline. One thing for sure, they need three people on a full moon, not merely one.

Hubby's first wife was a Christian and possessed. She was also delivered.

(She also let Legend back in later.)
