[SUP]8 [/SUP]Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.

Proverbs 6:16-19 GNT

There are seven things that the Lord hates and cannot tolerate: A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that kill innocent people, a mind that thinks up wicked plans, feet that hurry off to do evil, a witness who tells one lie after another, and someone who stirs up trouble among friends.

Note: pride is no 1 on God's hate list

Pride is the whole essence of living independent of the life of Christ on the inside of us. Pride is the cornerstone of the D.I.Y. self-effort/righteousness/holiness mindset.

One of the aspects of Adam and Eve's deception was them trying to be like God without God. It sounds noble and so pious to want to be like God but in their case they wanted to "know good and evil" just like God but without God ...and thus they ate from the wrong tree.

Let's eat from the tree of Life and live completely dependent on who the Lord is to us and to what He has done for us in His finished work. We are new creations in Christ. Behold ( to perceive, to look upon ) ...new things have come.

Jesus said, "As I live by the Father...so shall you live by Me " Jesus depended totally on the Father for it was the Fathers works that flowed through and in Jesus out to a dying need world that they loved dearly.

Galatians 2:20 (KJV)
[SUP]20 [/SUP] I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech
Prov 8:13

Pride in religion is about condemnation, rather than knowing we are in hands of the Lord, following after Jesus, in humble obedience.

There is a group here who are determined to suggest those following the Lord are into self justification, trying to earn their way to God. They feel they have understood the secrets of the Kingdom, and with the lens of anti-legalism they can root out these legalists who are contaminating the faith. What you will find is everything they accuse others of they do worse.

They are free so they claim, yet spend everyday analysing whether they are walking in the flesh "evil" or walking in the "spirit" good. I have not discovered how much walking in the "flesh" dooms you to hell, but you never know. They ignore their consciences and say anything negative is of satan. Their lives are full of demons who are fighting them every day everywhere, against whom they must declare territorial dominance. Sounds to me like they respect satan more than Jesus and Apostles did, as if he is not already defeated. Maybe that tells you more about their lack of spiritual understanding and authority.

And here I was thinking about MLB players. Some of them are the epitome of pride.

It's a shame that human PRIDE will not allow many people to come to Christ. Their hands are full of their works and they will not let go in order to take hold of Christ through faith.

Pride is a biggie with me. At the bottom of all my failings is this worst of vice. I have, and continue to pray to the Lord to remove this scourge.

I can tell the Lord is working to remove this because I'd rather love more now than argue.

I think every person struggles with this to some degree from time to time.

Sadly, SOME PEOPLE excel at this sinful and dangerous fault.

Please stop!!! Every thread it's the same old same old, There is NO LOVE in what you "preach" crashing cymbal

Pride was responsible for the fall of lucifer- the famous five "I wills"

To put our own will before God's is pride.

Isaiah 14:12-14
How art thou fallen from heaven, O day-star, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, that didst lay low the nations!
And thou saidst in thy heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; and I will sit upon the mount of congregation, in the uttermost parts of the north;
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.

Pride keeps us from learning for any number of reasons-perhaps one doesn't want to admit to being wrong or does not feel that they can learn from an "inferior" or stubborness (which is right next to pride)

Pride isolates.

I humbly apologise. I am told I have a religious demon in me, that I follow satan, that I am lost, the enemy of the gospel, should be isolated and rejected from christian fellowships.

I do not blame the people who say this, I forgive them, because it is just the product of their belief system.
But I do wonder how condemnation from a group who say that is of satan, are not maybe doing his work.

My claim is to follow Jesus, and walk in His ways. I have been accused of doing the self righteous, I am worthy speech, but I have never done that. I am a sinner saved by faith. My personality trait is described as likely to be a victim of manipulators and those who would put you down.

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.
Rom 12:3

So this is my answer to pride, to respect everyone and think of myself in balance.
Now I do love you all, whoever you maybe, but I do ask this, be careful how you judge you brothers or else you could find you are actually on the wrong side of the fence.

Now if you do not see love here, you do not see love in Jesus either.

By the way psalm6819 & willie-T I do not expect agreement from you guys, because you sit squarely in the hyper-grace camp.

I am not sure how I could show love in your book, because I am already a liar and a hypocrite, so it is a bit of joke.

I don't call people names. As for "hypergrace" I can only say this when I pray I alwys pray for others while I ask God's forgiveness where I have "missed the mark" it's not because I have lost my salvation it is because I know His ways are the right ways not mine. The fact that I don't spend all my prayer time pleading for forgiveness for every single sin I may be aware of and the ones I'm not aware of doesn't not mean that I trample on Jesus grace, on the contrary it makes it all the more precious to me. The fact that He loves me inspite of myself humbles me. The fact that He forgives and loves me makes it far easier to yield because He won't throw me out when I make a mistake but will be faithful like He promised and conform me to the image of His Son.

So if you think that is hypergrace, I'm guilty.
